New Moon Rising

Growing up in Dark Moon was a struggle for me not because i was only half werewolf but because i was also half witch. Everyone hated me, stayed away from me, or pitied me. It was something i didn't need. So when i got out i was happy. I promised myself i would never go back. I wouldn't let anyone else make me feel like i was less than trash anymore. My freedom didn't last as long as i hoped though

7. Second sucks

I ran my fingers through my hair before I opened the door. Liam was leaned against the doorframe one arm propped on the door and the other in his back pocket. His shirt had risen exposing his abdomen I followed the happy trail down his v cut until it disappeared at the top of his pants. He definitely wasn’t the Liam I remembered but it wasn’t a bad thing.

“Hey do you still want to go?”

“Yeah let me grab my shoes.”

“Don’t worry you won’t need them.”

I barely had time to close my door as liam grabbed my hand pulled me out of my room. I had to power walk to keep up with his long legs. My hand was still in his as we made our way down the stairs, somehow it felt right. I was silently hopping James was somewhere and wouldn’t see me. I didn’t want to start another argument.

“Are you ever going to let go of my hand?”

“Eventually.”

“What does that mean?” I asked a smile playing across my lips.

My voice was light and flirtatious, was I flirting? Nope no it wasn’t possible, that wasn’t what I partook in, I didn’t even date in college.

“It means exactly what it sounds like.”

He let go of my hand and wrapped it around of my shoulder, pulling me into him. My side pressed firmly into his I inhaled deeply of his scent and I was instantly intoxicated; he smelled deliciously outdoorsy. I tripped over an up turned root his hands on my waist righted me before I had a chance to fall. A blush formed on my cheeks and I was grateful of my dark coloring. It didn’t matter to a wolf though he could smell my nervousness in the air.

“If you want to go back we can?” disappointment etched in his voice.

“No I want to.” I said a little to quickly.

“Ok.”

It was true though I hadn’t shifted to my wolf form in over ten years, I stopped when I was younger when no one wanted to be around me. Back then it was hard to ignore the feeling of my wolf wanting to break free and feel the earth beneath her feet and the wind through her fur. Being half wolf actually paid off though, unlike other werewolves I could ignore the calling to shift to my wolf form. I was worried now I hadn’t talked to my wolf in a while. I didn’t even know if she was still there. She was compassionate, wise, headstrong, and loving. When I thought everything was falling apart, she was there encouraging me; telling me everything would be alright. I believed her for a while until I finally tuned her out. It never changed the fact that I wanted to be more like her though.

“We’re here.” his voice said breaking through my thoughts.

We stopped in a clearing that I vaguely remembered from my childhood my father had brought me here for my first change, first hunting, my first everything. I watched as he had begun to remove his clothes with his back to me. The muscles on his back contracted as he lifted his shirt over his head and dropped it on his shoes and socks. His triceps flexed as he unbuttoned his pants they fell to his ankles. Boxer briefs. My cheeks were on fire and so were other parts of my body. I was getting worked up I needed to calm down, I nearly jumped out of my skin when he touched my shoulder.

“Jocelyn… why am I the only one undressed? Are you scared?”

His voice was a whisper in my ear, I fought the urge to sigh a shiver still went down my spine though. I turned around and got a full frontal of him, he was bloody perfection. I looked down it was a mistake my cheeks burned in embarrassment. I looked anywhere but him, his naked body close to mine had my thoughts scattered.

“I’m not scared, I just haven’t done this in a while. I don’t know if she’s still there.”

“Whose still there?” he asked confusedly.

“My wolf, she and I are separate. It’s an alpha thing.”

“I’ve heard about it. What‘s her name?”

“Zoë the e is silent. What if she doesn’t accept me, we haven’t spoken in over six years.”

“Take off your clothes

“Don’t look.”

He smiled and turned around I took one last look before I took one last look. I shed my clothes and tried to wrap my arms around as much exposed flesh as possible.

“Ok.”

He turned around and his eyes raked over my body, oh goodness this was a bad idea on my part. I bit my lip nervously willing him to say something.

“Sit down and try to get her to come to you.”

I sat cross-legged on the ground liam followed suit sitting in front of me. I closed my eyes and steadied my breathing which was hard to do with Liam’s eyes on me.

“Zoë are you there?” I asked attentively.

There was nothing but the silence inside my head, I sighed in frustration.

“Look I know you’re angry and you have a right to be. I should have listened to you sooner. I can’t keep running away from my problems, I know that now. I just wish it wasn’t to late to fix things.”

“I’m glad you finally figured that out.”

“Zoë?”

“The one and only, did you miss me?”

“Of course I did.”

There wasn’t a time when I didn’t think about her when I was on my own.

“Why’d you come back now?”

“You called for me. What‘s wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong per say, well that’s not true my father’s dead and I’m about to come new alpha. The only reason I called for you though is because Liam asked me to go for a run. I didn’t know if I could still shift without you.”

“I’m sorry to hear about your father although he wasn’t much of one. All you wanted me for is a run I’m kind of heartbroken… kidding. Are you ready to get this show on the road then? And we’ll talk about liam later.

“Lets do this.”

I opened my eyes with a smile on my face glad that I still had Zoë with me; we had a lot of talking to do later. A chill ran down my spine when I realized Liams arm was wrapped around my waist and my back was pressed against his chest. His fingers were running through my hair I tilted my head up to see his eyes closed. When had he move me, and why didn’t I feel It?

“So this is Liam, well isn’t he handsome.”

“Zoë don’t you dare.”

“But you know I am.”

I hated when she did that, I begrudgingly switched places with her. An outsider in my own body, this felt surprisingly similar to when I was little. She’d take over when I was being picked on and it was always end badly for the other person. I hated to see what was going to happen. She stood up and turned to face Liam, god he was gorgeous. He eyes opened raking in every bit of exposed flesh, he stood towering a good six inches over me.

“ Hello there handsome.”

“You really just didn’t say that.” she only smiled and continue to stare at Liams naked form with avid interest.”

*-*

“Jocelyn?” he asked confused.

“Errr wrong guess again.”

“Zoey?”

“It’s Zoë the e is silent.”

She sauntered over and ran a finger down his chest.

“You little tart stop that.” I whispered angrily like someone could hear me in my own head.

“Jocelyn you know we’re the same, I am everything you want or need to be. Don’t be afraid to take what you want. You’re and alpha now.”

“Stop it right now.” I said harshly.

I knew it was a bad idea letting her take over. She was right though if I wanted to fully wanted to become alpha I need to except her. We need to be one.

“Try to keep up.”

She removed her hand from his chest and took off toward the forest. She weaved in out of trees leaping over a fallen tree she shifted to her wolf form. Midnight black hair blowing in the breeze the sound of twigs snapping and leaves crunching exhilarated her. How could she had given this up. From the corner of her eye she saw Liam coming up next to her. He gave her a wolfish grin and ran past her. She followed him keeping close on him. She had an idea she separated from him she knew where he was going and he was taking the long way. It was a little steep going down the mountain but I would get there before him. It took five for him to come into view I sat a top a boulder out of sight and waited until he was in front of it before leaping from the boulder and attacking him. At the last second he moved leaving me to hit the ground with an oomph.
