The Runaway Angels

This story is about these twins, Taylor, and Lily. There dad is an abuser, and they are fed up with him. They've never been in Downtown London or on the other side in five years. Melz1227, and I, Lauryn801 are very proud of this story, and we hope you like it!

14. Taylor's POV

We all walked outside, Zayn closing and locking the door. We jumped in this weird, but cool van that Louis owns. Liam hopped in the passenger seat, and when Zayn entered last, Louis started up the vehicle. He backed out of the driveway, and we headed off to the carnival.
“Can we ride the giant drop? I love the giant drop!” Niall exclaimed, a grin as big as the moon spread
across his face.
“Yeah, let’s go on that,” Zayn said, nodding his head in agreement.
“As long as we get to go on the teacups!” Harry chimed in.
“Okay, we can go on both of those,” Liam said.
After about driving for five minutes, we reached the pier. Louis found a parking spot, but it was way
far from the festival. It was really crowded, but then again it was Saturday, so a lot of people came out to party, especially at night. It’s also the biggest event in London, that is held every August. The carnival is called “The Lights of London” because when they set up the carnival, they hang strings of lights off the buildings surrounding it. It’s really beautiful. Especially today. I haven’t been there in so long. It’s something I would always look forward to every year, but when Louis suggested a carnival, I didn’t think of this one. I thought it would be a small one, but this is like a dream come true. I never thought I’d come back here. Not for awhile, at least. I never even realised it was going on, because at my house, we don’t keep track of days. We don’t have to, since every day's the same. Well, used to be the same.
I jumped out of the car, and took it all in. I gasped at the excitement.
“You like this carnival?” Louis asked me, smiling.
“I always came here when I was younger, and I loved it. I can’t believe I’m back!” I exclaimed, with a lot of energy.
“Okay, let’s head in!” Niall yelled. I smiled at him, and we ran together. We reached the entrance, way ahead of the others. It took what seemed like hours for them to catch up, but they eventually did. Louis payed for me to get in, and Liam payed for Lily. They are really nice men.
As soon as we got in, Niall started jumping up and down. “Giant drop! Giant drop!”
Zayn tapped his shoulder, and pointed to the ride. “Let’s go!” I watched them go over to the ticket booth to buy wristbands, and then over to the other side of the festival. They looked so happy just standing in line.
“Let’s go buy some wristbands for ourselves,” Liam suggested. We walked over to the booth that Zayn and Niall went to, and bought them.
“Two wristbands please,” Louis said, pulling out his wallet from his back pocket.
“Twenty dollars please,” the woman said. She was a little cranky. I could understand, though. I wouldn’t want to sit behind a counter on a warm day watching people have fun.
Louis handed her the money, and she slipped him some wristbands. He took my arm and wrapped it on my wrist. “Thanks,” I said. I did the same for him.
“What ride should we go on?” Louis sked.
“We should wait for Niall and Zayn, and then we should go on the teacups,” Harry said.
“Oh, look! There they go!” Liam said, pointing at two people on the ride. I could just make out the blonde haired boy and the guy with the leather vest sitting next to him. Up and up they went, higher and higher with each second. Finally, they reached the top, which looked about 30 meters in the air. I don’t know how they can go on that. They sat up there for a few seconds, just enjoying the view. After about 10 seconds, the machine let loose and the dropped back to earth. I heard both of the boys screaming at the top of their lungs. I giggled a little at the sound. Just before they hit the ground, the machine caught them in an instant. The harnesses lifted, and Niall and Zayn jumped out.
“That was awesome!” Niall announced to us.
    “So fun!” Zayn agreed.
“Let’s go on the teacups!” Harry said, getting excited.
“But I’m hungry!” Niall complained. I don’t know how he’s hungry; I wouldn’t be after that ride. My stomach would still be in my throat.
“But then you’re going to throw up,” Harry pointed out to him.
    “I can’t contain my hunger…” Niall whined.
“Come on, let’s go on the teacups, and then you can get some food,” Louis said, trying to stop the argument.
Niall sighed. “Fine,” he mumbled, looking at the ground.
“Yay! Let’s go! C’mon!” Harry motioned towards the ride, already taking off for it. Lily, the boys and I all walked behind. When we finally caught up to Harry, he was already in line, with about 10 people in front of him. “Hurry up! I saved you a spot!” Harry motioned us to him.
“Calm down, Curly, we’ll get on the ride,” Louis assured him. The ride that was going on ended, and the ride-runner opened the gate for the people in front of us.
“How many people in your group?” He asked us.
“Seven,” Liam told him.
“You'll take on of the big teacups,” he pointed at one of them. Yes, the ride has small teacups for small groups, and big ones for large groups. Harry ran right towards an orange teacup, and hopped inside. He scooted to the middle, and Niall, Lily, and Liam climbed in on his left side, while Zayn, Louis, and I hopped in on his right. A few more people got in the carts around us, and then the ride started.
“Okay, now spin!” Harry directed us. We all grabbed the metal plate in the middle, and spun it around. After about three spins, we were flying out of control. We were probably the fastest group.
The ride lasted about one and a half minutes, and when it stopped, we kept spinning until the guy told us to stop and get off. Liam got off first, and his knees jiggled like jello. The rest of us hopped out one by one, all tripping over ourselves. I tried to steady myself by holding onto Louis, but we ended up running into the fence instead. We sat there laughing, and watched the others. Lily held onto Liam, and they made it out okay, but Liam did hit the fence a little on the way out. Niall started doing a half jog kind of thing, and came straight at Louis and me. Lucky for us, his knees wobbled and he hit the fence on my right. He slumped to the ground, and we laughed together. I looked over at the others, who were still coming. Zayn gave up and crawled on his knees to the exit. Harry approached us and held his hand out to Niall.
“Need some help?” Niall grabbed his hand and pushed himself up, but Harry fell onto his bum. All four of us were laughing, and he finally pushed himself up to his feet, and walked out, Niall following. Louis stood up.
“My head is slightly spinning, but let’s get you up,” he said, extending his hand to me. I took it and pulled myself up, head spinning a little, then settling. We exited the ride, and then Niall started again.
“Can we eat now?” he asked.
“How does your stomach take all this?” I asked, giggling. He smiled and shrugged.
“Okay, let’s go eat over there,” Liam said, pointing to a little food stand. We raced towards it. “What does everyone want?”
