34. Sharp Pains

Carter’s POV

We walked around till we came across a creek that we used to go to every time we were in this area. “Well, I guess it has rained a lot since I left.” I said while making my way down to beside the flowing water. “It seems as if you took the sun with you when you moved!” Blake said while making his way down to where I was, with Jacob on this tail. "I guess Charlotte knows it's nothing without me, eh?" I said while I kicked off my shoes, put my phone by my shoes, then sat on a log sticking my feet in the coolish water. Blake and Jacob followed my lead and took a seat on either side of me. We sat there catching up a little more and just relaxing. We soon ran out of things to talk about, and I was leaning my head on Jacobs shoulder, looking out onto the water.

“Come on!” I said standing up on the log. “Where?” They both asked at the same time, with wiry clearly showing in their voices. I jumped into cold water. I felt my body relax as soon as the cool water surrounded me. I came back up for air and looked over to the to boys that looked shocked. “Come on! The water feels great!” I said while setting myself up so I would be floating on my back. I felt little waves hit my feet and make its way up around my body. I lifted my head to see the two boys standing there, frozen. I put my feet on the rocky ground and looked at the two boys. “It’s FREEZING!” Jacob whined which made me roll my eyes. “How can you stand it!?” Blake asked. "Maybe you guys are just chickens." I laughed. I heard a beeping sound coming from our shoes. Blake walked over and checked his phone, then Jacobs, then mine. He turned around still holding my phone. “Sadly, Harry wants a Cat back.” He said looking up from the phone with a sad face. “Grrrrr……” I said throwing my head back, looking up at the sky. I inhaled deeply. “Fine.” I finished. I started making my way out of the water when I felt a sharp pain make its way into my foot.

Blake was carrying me bridle style, while Jacob was calling his brother to pick us up as fast as humanly possible. It turned out I stepped on a broken beer bottle and a piece of glass was stuck in my foot… Yay… We walked back to the restaurant and sat down at the same bench that I was sitting on earlier today.

While waiting I noticed David walking out of the restaurant, most likely on break, hopefully. I turned my head hoping that he wouldn’t see me. But I was not lucky. “Hey!” He yelled then started making his away towards us. Every step he took, the more I would tense up. I think Blake noticed since I was sitting on his lap. "Hey, I never got to learn your name sweetheart." David said standing in front of us. "Uhh..." I started but was cut off by him. "Aww. Lost in your thoughts because of me?" He asked, beaming down at me. Wow, full of yourself much? Truth be told, I didn't really trust my voice right now because I haven't talked since before the whole glass in foot thing happened. I shook my head from left to right. I hoped Mike would get here here soon! "Sweetie, you can talk to me." David said softly. I looked up to him then to Blake. Blake gave me a sympathetic look and looked up at David. I put my head in Blake's neck, the pain was getting worse by the minute, and it didn’t help that there was this dumbo standing here. "Blake. It. Hurts." I said to him taking in sharp breaths. I also said it so quietly that I wasn't sure if he even heard. "Okay, try not to think about it. You're doing great." He said rubbing my back. He then turned his head towards Jacob. "Where's Mike, Jacob!?" He yelled quietly at Jacob who was on the phone. "Who are you guys?" David asked me. I just rolled my eyes. "Dude, can you just leave her alone." Blake said to him. “Sorry, who are you? Her boyfriend? I don’t think so.” David shook his head. I somehow pulled my head up off of Blake and faced my head towards David. “Don’t talk to him like that.” I said to him, while trying not to raise my temper and scream out in pain. “Why are you standing up for this… This… guy.” He said while gesturing to Blake. “David. Go. Away. Before I break your face.” I said through gritted teeth. “Sure, sweetheart.” He laughed. I started to move so I would be able to stand up and punch his square in the nose. Blake pulled me back down before I could stand up. “Cat, stop. He’s not worth it.” Blake said pulling me close to him. David crossed his arms. “Don’t call me. You’re not worth my time.” David said. WHO THE HECK DOES HE THINK HE IS? “I wouldn’t even waste my time! Plus that paper I had you throw away, yeah, that was your phone number.” I gave him a fake smile. He just looked at me with wide eyes, then turned around and stormed off.

We soon saw the red, beat up truck pulling into the shopping center and it pulled up by us. Mike hopped out of the driver seat and ran over. “Okay, let's get you to a doctor.” Mike said. Blake held me on one side, while Jacob on the other side. Mike ran over to the bed of the truck and pulled down the little gate. He set up some towels for me, while we slowly made our way. Once we got to the truck they helped me onto the bed of the truck. I sat on the towels and scooted to the back of the bed. Blake climbed into back with me, he put his arms around me and I snuggled into his chest trying to forget about the pain coming from my foot. Jacob climbed into the passengers seat and Mike climbed into the drivers seat. Soon we where making our way down to the hospital. “Blake, can you pass me my phone?” I asked him pulling away a little. He nodded his head and handed me my phone. I scrolled threw my contacts looking for one name. I soon came across the name and dialed the number. It rang three times before he answered. “Hello?” Said the voice sounding groggy. “Hey Harry, Can you meet me and the hospital?”
