High School Romance.

Ariel, an image of a red-headed mermaid poped into your head, didn't it? Well, that's kind of me. A fiery red head and look alike to Molly Quinn. I just started high school (oh joy.) and I'm so not used to it. What happened to small schools? Oh well, but, I can't really complain. And all of my classes are fairly easy, and every single one of them I share with the most random guy, football jersey number 13. That's what I call him, thirteen. And I think I like him... like, LIKE LIKE him... and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me...

8. Chapter Two, Part Three.

[ after the movie ]

"I seriously had no idea Molly Quinn was in that movie," I said laughing as we walked out, "I swear."

"Really?" Ryan asked me. He was smiling an somewhere in the back of my mind I knew he didn't believe me.

I giggled and looked down at my watch, 8:21. Wow. It was early.

"Should we head back to your place?"

I looked back up at Ryan and sighed, we might as well, I thought, what else is there to do, really?

He nodded and we started to walk back to my house hand in hand. We were talking about school, the huge differences in small schools to the new high school, when a guy threw a football to Ryan.

He let go of my hand and caught it, he looked up and smiled. A guy from school (I think he was one of the guys who was on the football team), was walking over waving. He was tall, blonde hair that looked like Keith Urban's, and light eyes.

"Hey Drew." Ryan said.

Drew- I guessed that was his name- came up and high fived Ryan, then politley said 'hello' to me.

"So," he crossed his arms over his chest and looked me up and down, "this is her," he smiled and looked over at Ryan, "you know how to pick 'em."

"You should see her internal beauty." Ryan said as I blushed.

"Thank you." I said gigling. It was intended for both of them, that was proably the nicest thing I'd heard all night.

"Well, I'll let you go man." Drew said after a few seconds of silence. He grew a miscevious smirk and then ran to his door step shouting, 'DUDE! PASS IT!'

Ryan laughed. He threw the football and Drew caught it easily. He said something I couldn't understand and then went into his house.

Ryan laughed at him, so I just assumed it was a joke. We went back to our hand holding and walking. Finally we were at my house, my heart sank.

I really wanted to keep hanging out with Ryan, he was such a sweetheart. Sweet, nice, funny, beautiful smile. It was all like a dream.

"So here we are." He said. He looked up to my house with a more solemn look. Not really smiling, but not heartbroken either.

"Yeah." I said. I took in a deep breath and glared up into the lamp-lit rooms. It was probably right before nine. My dad would probably walk out any second.

"So, I had a great time." Ryan said suddenly, breaking my train of thought.

"Yeah, me too." I looked over to him and smiled.

He smiled, then took a deep breath. He took a step closer, brushed my bangs out of my hair and pulled me closer into his embrace.

And then he kissed me.
