High School Romance.

Ariel, an image of a red-headed mermaid poped into your head, didn't it? Well, that's kind of me. A fiery red head and look alike to Molly Quinn. I just started high school (oh joy.) and I'm so not used to it. What happened to small schools? Oh well, but, I can't really complain. And all of my classes are fairly easy, and every single one of them I share with the most random guy, football jersey number 13. That's what I call him, thirteen. And I think I like him... like, LIKE LIKE him... and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me...

17. Chapter Three, Part Six.

"Hi!" Stephaine said excitedly. She wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

I looked down at my feet, then back up to catch Ryan already watching me.

"Hey," I said. My voice shook, all of us could easily hear it. I pressed my eyes shut, totally embarrased, and then slowly opened them again to see Ryan smiling at me.

He chuckled slightly, then walked over and wrapped me in a hug.

"Hello, Ariel." He whispered to me.

I pushed away so we were arm's length apart. "You haven't called me by my first name since the day we met."

"I know," he said, "I wanted this date to be proper."

I smiled.

"Well, let's go then." Nathan said.

"Or would you two love birds prefer to stay home?" Stephanie said mockingly.

I blushed, why did she have to say that? Why did she have to tease me like that?

We all went outside and Stephanie locked the door to her house. Ryan linked his hand in mine and we started walking. Neither Ryan nor Nathan would tell us where we were going, so it put me on edge.

"So, you're both positive, that you can't tell us?" I pressed.

"Yes, Ariel, I think we're both sure." Ryan told me with a laugh.

I sighed and decided to give up. I'd let them have their little game, but in the back of my mind I knew Stephanie and I would get them back.
