High School Romance.

Ariel, an image of a red-headed mermaid poped into your head, didn't it? Well, that's kind of me. A fiery red head and look alike to Molly Quinn. I just started high school (oh joy.) and I'm so not used to it. What happened to small schools? Oh well, but, I can't really complain. And all of my classes are fairly easy, and every single one of them I share with the most random guy, football jersey number 13. That's what I call him, thirteen. And I think I like him... like, LIKE LIKE him... and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me...

51. Chapter Ten, Part One.

I groaned and turned onto my side pulling my pillow over my head.

"ARIEL!!!" My three-year-old cousin, Aria, jumped on my bed again and landed on my stomach.

"Fine!" I said sitting up. I looked into the bright green eyes of a happy little girl and smiled. "You win."

Aria giggled. "Get up lazy bones! It's Christmas morning!"

I sighed and followed Aria out of my room and down the stairs.

Aria and her twenty-three-year-old mom (my aunt, Mae) live alone about a few hundred miles away. Aria's low life father walked out on them before Aria was born, and for all we knew was that her dad was somewhere along the west coast.

I couldn't complain.

"Is this one for me?" Aria asked, she held up a box wrapped in neon pink paper.

I read the name tag and nodded. She giggled in delight and tore the paper off revealing a Barbie doll.

I smiled and got two mugs to make us both some got chocolate. Aria and I were the only two up, so I thought I'd let her open a few presents and then she'd open the rest when every one else was awake.

"Aria, do you want whipped cream and marshmallows?" I asked.

Aria slid up to the kitchen table with her new toy in hand. "What do you think?"

I laughed at her and got the whip cream bottle from the fridge.

I turned and saw Aria looking at my phone on the counter.

Aria looked up at me, an innocent confused look plastered on her face. "Who's Ryan?"

"Oh, he's my boyfriend." I explained.

"Ooh. He texted you; merry Christmas babe."

I nodded and smiled to myself as I handed Aria her mug. I texted back: you too!

Yesterday I gave Ryan, Nathan, and Stephanie the gifts I got for them. The ones they got for me were stashed up in my room.

About ten minutes later, my house came alive and my parents, aunt, and brother came downstairs.

We made breakfast and opened presents. I sat on the far couch, sipping my hot chocolate and smiling at Aria constantly freaking out at the gifts she would get.

"Ariel, this ones for you." My dad said, handing me a box wrapped in blue shiny paper.

I opened it and took the lid off the box, inside laid a deep brown violin.

I put my violin down and sighed. I wanted to keep playing, but my finger tips would bleed if I played anymore.

I got out the boxes Stephanie, Nathan, and Ryan gave me.

Stephanie got me a notebook and a pen that had 'THIS IS THE ONLY WEAPON I NEED' written on it. From Nathan, I received a CD. And Ryan, I was given a locket with a picture of him and I inside it.
