High School Romance.

Ariel, an image of a red-headed mermaid poped into your head, didn't it? Well, that's kind of me. A fiery red head and look alike to Molly Quinn. I just started high school (oh joy.) and I'm so not used to it. What happened to small schools? Oh well, but, I can't really complain. And all of my classes are fairly easy, and every single one of them I share with the most random guy, football jersey number 13. That's what I call him, thirteen. And I think I like him... like, LIKE LIKE him... and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me...

37. Chapter Seven, Part Two.

I stopped crying and looked around my room. My eyes landed on the stuffed bear Ryan won for me at the pier. I grabbed it and held it to my chest, why was Jackson being so weird?

I heard knocking at my door.

"Ariel?" Jackon's voice asked. "I figured it out."

"What?" I asked softly.

"I don't want to loose you."

I got up from my bed and unlocked the door, flinging it open so I stood face-to-face with my brother.

"What?" I snapped.

"You're growing up too fast." He said sadly.

"Isn't this supposed to be Dad's speech?" I asked. I leaned against the door frame and eyed him suspiciously.

"I know, but, just look." He said. He pulled out his phone and showed me a picture from a few years back. My hair was in pig-tails and I still had braces back then. I recognized my old overalls and white tee-shirt and run-down purple sneakers.

"This was just a few years ago. Look at you now. You're... you. And you have a boyfriend. And answer me this, when was the last time we hung out and actually talked? Not since we moved in. You're either running around with Ryan or Stephanie, or it's both of them and that Nathan guy."

"So? You're blaming me for having a social life?"

"No, I'm saying I miss you."

"I'm standing right in front of you."

He sighed. "That's not the point."

"I know. But, you're not making an effort either. You're always so wrapped up in either school or baseball."

"I know."

"So, really, we need to schedual a day we can both just hang out."

"Yeah."

"I'm free tomorrow, how 'bout then?"

Jackon smiled. "Yeah. That sounds good."

"Okay."

He smiled bigger and wrapped me in a hug. He let go of me and went back downstairs. I receded back into my room and went online to Skype a few friends back home.
