High School Romance.

Ariel, an image of a red-headed mermaid poped into your head, didn't it? Well, that's kind of me. A fiery red head and look alike to Molly Quinn. I just started high school (oh joy.) and I'm so not used to it. What happened to small schools? Oh well, but, I can't really complain. And all of my classes are fairly easy, and every single one of them I share with the most random guy, football jersey number 13. That's what I call him, thirteen. And I think I like him... like, LIKE LIKE him... and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me...

36. Chapter Seven, Part One.

The next few weeks went by quickly, and before I knew it, it was Thanksgiving Break.

I walked home with Stephanie while Nathan was practicing with the band and Ryan was practicing football.

"I really hope you can come over a lot this week, my parents are out of town and I was hopeing you, me, and the guys can come over and have a sleepover like last time." Stephanie said.

"Your parents are out of town? On Thanksgiving Break?" I asked.

"Yeah, they had a job meeting over in Cali. So... I'm home alone." She said slowly.

"Maybe my parents will be okay with you coming over on Thanksgiving." I said. I thought it was crazy for her to be home alone on Thanksgiving, of all holidays it was one of my favorites.

"Could you ask?"

"Yeah! No problem."

Stephanie smiled and hugged me. She waved goodbye and walked into her house, I started to trudge on to my own home.

I put my earbuds in and played Taylor Swift feat. Gary Lightbody 'The Last Time'. I walked inside my house and saw my brother sitting on the couch watching TV. I breathed in an air that read 'I'm still really uncomfortable around you'.

I walked quickly over to the stairs.

I stopped. If he wasn't going to give me a legitimate reason to why he didn't like Ryan I would give him the cold shoulder.

"Would you give up already? It's been weeks!" Jackson said angrily.

"Would you give me an answer?" I replied quietly.

"About what's-his-face? Are you still with him?"

"Why don't you break up with him already?"

"Because I like him," I snapped. I turned around to face him. "And mom and dad like him. Stephanie likes him, Nathan likes him, everyone likes him. Except you. Why would that be, Jackson?"

He looked mad. Furious, rageing mad. "I just don't like him."

"You are so pathetic. Why can't you just let me be happy?" I asked.

Jackson studied me. "You're crying."

I wiped my cheek and saw the water stained marks on my sleeve. When had I started to cry?

"Ariel, I want you to end it with him."

"No, Jackson, I like him."

"So? Just 'cause you don't doesn't mean I have to break up with him."

"NO JACKSON. I WILL NOT TALK TO YOU AGAIN UNTIL YOU FIGURE OUT YOUR LIFE." I shouted. I ran up to my room and locked the door. I fell onto my bed and started to bawl.

Why are you acting like this, Jackson? We used to be like best friends, we could tell each other anything. I never ratted you out, you never told on me. But why with Ryan, are you being so hostile?
