High School Romance.

Ariel, an image of a red-headed mermaid poped into your head, didn't it? Well, that's kind of me. A fiery red head and look alike to Molly Quinn. I just started high school (oh joy.) and I'm so not used to it. What happened to small schools? Oh well, but, I can't really complain. And all of my classes are fairly easy, and every single one of them I share with the most random guy, football jersey number 13. That's what I call him, thirteen. And I think I like him... like, LIKE LIKE him... and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me...

49. Chapter Nine, Part Five.

A month passed. It was now one week before Christmas, and the last Friday before Christmas break.

And with that being said, the drama club and glee club were practicing their Christmas preformances like crazy.

"Okay, Ariel, you're going to be... Joey, who did you cast Ariel as?" Mr. Bost said.

Joey, Brianna's boyfriend now, looked through the script he wrote. He flipped through a number of pages and mumbled continually to himself.

I looked worridly out to the crowd. Stephanie, Nathan, Jackson, and Ryan were all waiting for me. They all gave me an incouraing smile and thumbs-up.

"Oh, she's the prostitute that finds redemption." Joey said. He looked up at me and smirked.

"What?! I will not be a prostitute!" I said.

"Why not? It's not that much of a difference to your weekends, right?" Brianna said. She looked at me with a 'come on a fight me' look.

Wait... that made no sense. I looked at her confused, was she trying to insult me? She rolled her eyes and took in a deep breath.

"Mr. Bost, I will not have my little sister play as a prostitute." Jackson said. I looked at him over my shoulder as he made his was across the stage.

"Well, this isn't your choice, Jackson. It's Ariels." Mr. Bost said. He turned to me. "Ariel, if you're not in this play, I'm sorry but you won't be in any other plays through the school year."

What. That is so stupid! So I refuse to play a part, now I'm kicked out of drama?! My anger flared inside of me. But be reasonable, dressing probably half naked on stage...

I smiled. "Well, I'm sorry it had to come to this." I turned and walked off stage, over to Ryan and got my things, then outside into the bitter cold air.

Ryan came out a second later.

"Are you sure you want to give up drama?" He asked.

I nodded as I pulled my jacket on. "I refuse to do that. Besides, I have glee."

Ryan nodded. He wrapped me in a hug and kissed my forehead. "I'm so sorry."

"It's okay." I lied. It was crazy to me that it was either play the part or no drama. But seeing that Brianna's boyfriend was writing the scripts now, and casting the rolls for them, I'd probably have the worst parts of all time.

The theater door opened and Joey walked out. He saw me and tensed.

"Look," he started, "I'm sorry about that. Brianna told me to cast that role to you and I had no idea Mr. Bost would put you in that spot. The, either play or you're gone, I mean."

I studied him. I believed him, but at the same time, I wanted to smack him. I shook my head and Ryan started to walk me over towards the school gate.

Jackson, Stephanie, and Nathan joined us a few moments later. They staid in the theater to question Mr. Bost about why he did what he did.

"I honestly don't care anymore." I said.

We piled into Jackson's car and he dropped us off one by one. Tomorrow, Stephanie and I were going to go to the mall to get Nathan and Ryan their Christmas gifts.
