High School Romance.

Ariel, an image of a red-headed mermaid poped into your head, didn't it? Well, that's kind of me. A fiery red head and look alike to Molly Quinn. I just started high school (oh joy.) and I'm so not used to it. What happened to small schools? Oh well, but, I can't really complain. And all of my classes are fairly easy, and every single one of them I share with the most random guy, football jersey number 13. That's what I call him, thirteen. And I think I like him... like, LIKE LIKE him... and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me...

28. Chapter Five, Part Five.

The next Monday, I was sitting in my usual seat in Biology Class. Ryan was running late and he told me he'd meet me here, but after the bell rang he still wasn't here. I looked down at my watch, he still had maybe three minutes before the late bell rang and I'd give up on him.

Maybe he's sick, I reasoned, and he has to stay at home. That makes some sense, right? Didn't Stephanie catch a cold and so she's at home too?

As if to prove my point, Stephanie texted me.

S: I'm @ home sick :x

A: It's okay, Ryan isn't here either.

S: What about boobear?

I looked up, Nathan was talking to the teacher about re-taking a quiz he missed because of one of his recent giggs.

A: He's here.

S: Kk.

I put my phone back in my backpack and waited silently. I watched the time click by on the clock. One minute passed... two.... three...

"Miss Nichols,"

I looked back up to my teacher, Mrs. Adams. "Yes Ma'am?"

"There's someone in the office for you." She said. I realized she was on the phone and had her hand over the receiver.

"Okay, I'll go then, I guess..." I stood up and slung my bag back over my shoulder and went to walk out the door.

"Wait, you need a hall pass." She reminded me.

I laughed. "I'm sorry, I forgot." I went back to her desk and she scribbled out a form for me. I went outside and the rush of cool November air hit me. How many more days until the dance? If today was Monday... that meant the dance would be on Friday at the earliest.

I walked into the office and the receptionist told me to go to the auditorium, that the person who came wanted me to go there.

"Um, I'm sorry for asking, but who came in here?" I asked.

She smiled. "You know them, they just didn't want me to tell you." She added, "I'm sorry." when I groaned and smiled in spite of myself.

"No problem, thanks!" I said over my shoulder as I walked out again. I wandered over to the auditorium, the musical of The Little Mermaid was going to be tonight and tomorrow night. I was excited, but also nervous. The stage wasn't set up yet and few people had learned their lines.

I walked into the dimly lit building and saw a piece of paper on the stage. I went over and picked it up,

Take a seat.

I looked around, no one. I hopped off the stage and sat down on one of the front row seats, and waited.
