High School Romance.

Ariel, an image of a red-headed mermaid poped into your head, didn't it? Well, that's kind of me. A fiery red head and look alike to Molly Quinn. I just started high school (oh joy.) and I'm so not used to it. What happened to small schools? Oh well, but, I can't really complain. And all of my classes are fairly easy, and every single one of them I share with the most random guy, football jersey number 13. That's what I call him, thirteen. And I think I like him... like, LIKE LIKE him... and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me...

55. Chapter Eleven, Part Two.

I laughed and ate another spoonful of ice cream. "So, you hit the ball and it flew into his face?"

"Yeah," Jackson admitted laughing, "I thought it would go over his head... I thought wrong."

Jackson and I had been across town for at least a half hour now. We were at an ice cream shop, I had a cup of vanilla and Jackson had a cup of sherbet.

Jackson looked at me with worried puppy dog eyes. "Ariel, are you okay? Are you sure it was Ryan?"

I nodded and pulled my phone out. It lit up with all of Ryan's texts and missed calls.

R: Ariel, please talk to me!

R: babe, let me explain

R: I'm so so so so so sorry

R: would you let me explain?

R: look, I love you, I didn't want to hurt you

R: I'm sorry!

R: it wasn't what it looked like!

And about twenty-five missed calls and voice mails.

I sighed and turned my phone off.

Jackson watched me with worried eyes.

A while later, Jackson and I were wandering aimlessly around a book store.

I stood in the corner reading the description to a random book.

"Ariel, I should've known you were here!"

I looked up and a rock fell in my stomach.

"H-hi Ryan." I said with tears in my eyes.

He smiled and walked over to me. Ryan leaned in to kiss me, I turned away and put my head down.

"What's wrong?" He asked me. I looked at him, what was he talking about?

"You... You cheated on me... With Brianna... I- I saw you!" I said. My voice grew louder and louder with every word I said.

"Ariel," he chuckled, "let me explain-"

"No! I don't want any stupid excuses!" I shoved the book into Ryan's chest and walked around him. I pivoted on the spot as my arm was hooked into his and I was face to face with Ryan's blue eyes.

"Babe, I-"

"Don't call me that!" I hissed thorugh gritted teeth as I wrestled with his grip.

I looked up and saw Jackson marching over, his facial expression livid. I breathed a sigh of relief and finally got out of Ryan's grip.

"Look, Jackson, this doesn't involve you." Ryan said. He had a cocky smile and held his hands up as if to say 'back off budy'.

"Ariel is my sister. This does involve me." Jackson hissed. He grabbed my shoulders and pulled me into a protective hug.

"Look, Jackson-"

"No, look here buddy," Jackson let go of me and I hit my head on a book shelf. I blacked out.

When I woke up, Jackson and Ryan were being held back by the store owner and manager. Both of them were badly beaten up and giving eachother death glares.

"You little-"

"Jackson!" I warned.

He looked over at me and the guy restraining him let go. Jackson rushed over to me and held me tightly in his arms.

"Ariel, I-"

"Ryan, would you please leave?" I asked.

Ryan turned to me and saw the tears falling. His face fell and he had a hallow look etched on his face. Taking a big gulp of air, he nodded and turned walked out.

I hugged Jackson and we left.
