High School Romance.

Ariel, an image of a red-headed mermaid poped into your head, didn't it? Well, that's kind of me. A fiery red head and look alike to Molly Quinn. I just started high school (oh joy.) and I'm so not used to it. What happened to small schools? Oh well, but, I can't really complain. And all of my classes are fairly easy, and every single one of them I share with the most random guy, football jersey number 13. That's what I call him, thirteen. And I think I like him... like, LIKE LIKE him... and I'm pretty sure he feels the same way about me...

44. Chapter Eight, Part Five.

I woke up in Ryan's arms and I yawned. Looking around me, I saw that Stephanie was asleep in Nathan's arms. And both Nathan and Ryan were asleep.

I looked at the wall clock and saw it read 7:10.

I cautiosly got out of Ryan's arms and snuck into the kitchen, I threw on an apron and tied my hair up in a bun.

"What to make, what to make." I said softly. I tapped my chin with my forefinger and dug through Stephanie's fridge. I decided on omlettes and pulled out the things I'd need.

My phone started playing 'Whiskey' by Jana Kramer and I answered it, already knowing who it was.

"Ariel?" Jackson asked.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"Where are you?"

"Come home."

"Yes, I'm your older brother and you need to be home."

"No, I'm fourteen and I can choose if I want to be at my friends."

"Who else is there with you?"

"No one." I lied. In the back of my mind I knew if I told him Ryan and Nathan spent the night too, he'd tell Mom and Dad and that would be it.

"Just... please get home soon."

"I'll think about it."

I hung up and went to making breakfast for everyone.

[ about an hour later ]

"I'll see you later! Thanks again!" I called over my shoulder as I walked down the stone steps from Stephanie's house.

"See you!" Stephanie called.

I smiled and popped my earbuds in and played One Direction's 'Kiss You'. I sang along softly as I walked up the steps to my house and immediatley saw my brother sitting on the couch with Brianna.

Everything inside of me went cold. Did they do anything? Did they go though with... it?

"Ahem." I said loudly.

Brianna muttered something and Jackson looked up at me with apologetic eyes.

"I'm running to the store, do you need anything?" I asked.

"No, and I don't think you do either. I was just about to leave, so you don't have to go run away." Brianna said getting up.

She walked over to me- and rammed her shoulder into mine on the way out- and before she left turned around and blew a kiss to Jackson. I rolled my eyes and she walked out.

"Why'd you do that?!" Jackson bellowed.

"Do what?" I asked hotly.

"Make her leave?"

"I did nothing of the sort! I was going to leave, not her! So don't yell at me!"

"And where'd you go?"

"I told you, numbskul, I went to Stephanie's."

"Stay away from her."

"What?! No!"

"Ariel, as you older brother-"

"Shut up! You don't own me!"

"I do as much as Mom and Dad do."

"No you don't!" I ran upstairs and slammed the door to my room behind me. I scanned my room for the stuffed bear Ryan gave me at the peir...

It was gone.

I ran downstairs and watched my brother pick up a beer can and throw it away.

"Did you give her my bear?" I asked.

"Who? What?" Jackson said annoyed.

"My stuffed bear with hearts on it."

"Oh, yeah, I gave it to Brianna."

"Yeah, it didn't mean anything to you, did it?"

"Yeah, it actually did! Ryan gave it to me!"

"So! So you have to get it back!"

I felt the tears well in my eyes. I ran back into my room and almost immediatley got a text from my mom:

Heading home! :) Should be there in an hour or so...

Perfect. I could tell my parents and they'd set Jackson in his place.

Or... at least I hoped they would...
