Finding My Killer

I venomously laugh as I read my tombstone. My name is Scarlett Miranda Rose, and I know
one thing for sure.

I didn't fall out of that window.

I was pushed.

6. Chapter 6

After I tell Drew my plan, he agrees to every bit of it.

That's good.

We sit in the library, I help him check out books for one of his classes. If there's one thing that I know what to do; It's read books.

"Oh!" I squeal. "The Odyssey is a good book! You could do that for your book report." I say running through bookshelves to point to it.

"Sure, why not?" He grins.

"Shhhh!" The librarian screeches from across the room.

I scowl in her direction. "I always hated her." I mumble. "Rude old bag lady."

He chokes down a laugh.

I stiffen as I hear foot steps behind. I turn and look back, and see Mara Bo. One of my suspects.

I've never had that big of a problem with her. She's just one of Tanya's minions.

"Hi, Drew," She cheerfully smiles a fake smile, and sat down in the chair next to him.

"Hey," He says.

"I'm Mara," She holds out her hand.

He shakes it, and smiles a small smile. "Nice to meet you."

"You too," She chirps. "So, Caitlyn, Tanya and I are having a party this Friday, and we were wondering if you would like to come?"

He quickly glances to me, and sees me nod my head. This will fit into the plan perfectly.

He focuses back to Mara. "Uh, yeah, sure. I'd love too." He says.

"Awesome." She grins, standing back up and turns to leave. She gently runs her hand over his shoulder on her way out. "Can't wait to see you there."

Drew and I are walking(Well I'm, like, floating) over to his house to talk about what he's supposed to look out for at the Clique's party.

On the way there, we have small little conversations. We talk about what he should wear to one of Tanya's parties. How he should act. What he should and shouldn't say, who he should and shouldn't talk to.

Although, with Drew walking down the sidewalk, talking to thin air, he attracted a lot of weird glances and stares. To which I yelled out some not so friendly words, while Drew laughed in the background.

"Where's your mom?" I ask once we get to his house.

"She's at work." He says setting his bag on his dark green couch.

"What about your dad?" I'm not trying to be nosy(On purpose, anyway), I'm just curious.

He's silent for a moment, his back turned to me. "California, I think." He clenches his fists, then unclenches them. "He ran off with his assistant when I was nine, and took most of my our money with him."

I look down at my feet. "I'm sorry," I say.

"Yeah," He mumbles. "Me too."

"Anyway!" I clap my hands together. "Downers aside, let's talk about what is going to happen in a few days."

"Okay," He says, walking me over to the couch and sitting down. "What's the goal?"

I give him a summery of all that he has to do. He will go to the party, and mingle, and make friends. Then, he will talk with Tanya, bring up my shrine in the east hallway at school, ask if she knew me, and wait for her response. I tell him not to worry or freak out about anything because I will be right there with him.

"That about covers it," I say after I finish talking. "You got it all?"

He nods, standing up. "I think so."

"Good," I stand with him. "Where are you going?"

He glances down at his phone that beeped not to long ago. "I have to go meet my mom at this place called. . .City Divine? She had a job interview there, and she wanted me to come meet up with her after it was over."

"Shut up!" I practically squeal. "City Divine! That was my favorite clothing boutique!"

He rolls his eyes at my girly outburst. "Can you show me where it is?"

"Yeah, let's go!" I rush him out the door. "I want to see their new stock. And maybe swipe a few coupons for my sisters."

We barely make it a few blocks away from his house before something strange happens. Drew glances at me for a split second, and his eyes get wide.

"Scarlett?" He worriedly asks me. His eyes sweeping back and forth between my hands and my face.

My arms were flickering from transparent(normal), to gone.

Even though I don't need to breath, my breath comes out in short gasps. "Drew, what's happening? What's going on?"

"Calm down," He tries to shush me.

"Drew, I-I'm scared! Help me, please!" I plead. "Drew please, I can't leave yet, I still don't know who killed me!"

"Scarlett, you're going to be okay, stop freaking out," He holds his hands up infront of him, as if trying to calm a wild animal. "You'll be fine,"

But  can already see a faint light, getting closer and closer to me. "Help me, Drew, please," If I could cry, I would be bawling from fright. My eyes widen as the light is inches away from me.

And the light engulfs me, and I feel nothing.
