Finding My Killer

I venomously laugh as I read my tombstone. My name is Scarlett Miranda Rose, and I know
one thing for sure.

I didn't fall out of that window.

I was pushed.

14. Chapter 14

I wait at the lockers, near Ms. Rubinski's room. Waiting for Tanya. If Drew won't help me reveal what she did to me, then I'll do it myself. I'm through being subtle, I want answers.

The clock in the hallway reads 7:48, which means people should start to flood in any minute now.

"The party was totally awesome, Layla, you should've been there!" I hear Tanya's voice flood through the hallway.

"I had to baby sit my neighbors stupid kids!" Layla, the ungrateful, female Bigfoot in a skirt, complains.

"Whatever, it was so fun! Wasn't it Drew-y?" Tanya says coming into my view, snaked around Drew's arm.

He gives a small, fake smile to her. "Totally,"

I laugh out loud, and slam shut the locker in front of me.

They all jump, as I laugh, crossing my arms over my chest. Then my ex-murderer investigator focuses his eyes on me.

"Drew-y? What a precious pet name!" I laugh uncontrollably. "S'cuse me for not knowing about the happy couple sooner! I would've congratulated you two before hand! But then again. . . I would have to be happy for you two--and why would I be happy for the person who betrayed me when I thought he was actually going to help me move on from this miserable state, and the bitch who killed me in the first place!"

"Drew-y? What are you looking at?" Tanya asks, frightened.

I look him dead in the eyes. "Go on, Drew-y," I hiss. "Tell her how you can communicate to all things paranormal. Tell her how you promised to find a poor ghost's killer, so she can finally be set free. Tell her how you're talking to her victim right now."

He clenches his jaw, his eyes growing darker.

"Drew?" Tanya asks again.

"Drew?" I mock her. "What's wrong? You haven't, like, said anything for like, the past two minutes. Are you, like, hiding something from me?"

"Shut up!" He spat at me.

"What?" Tanya exclaims, backing away from him.

"Not you!" He apologizes.

"Then who!" She snaps, narrowing her eyes at him.

"Go on Drew," I stalk closer to him. "Tell her," I see another open locker to my right, and I slam it shut. "Tell her!" I channel my paranormal energy, and flicker the lights; On and off, on and off, on and off. Listening to Tanya and her clique scream. "I am going to give you one more chance," I say, my voice growing lower with every word. "Are you going to help me prove her crime or not?"

He hesitates for a few seconds too long.

"Wrong answer," I growl, and lunge for him. Instead of passing right through him, my ghost's spirit intertwines with his, and now I am the one controlling him. Now I'm the one in charge.
