Exasperated, that's what I was- am. My pride that was once stored within me has now vanished into billions of particles, dissolved and evaporated into the mass air that surrounds me. Lifeless: nothing more, nothing less. I lay, placidly, willingly, acceptingly, though, my body is no longer belligerent; it's given up.
My name is Kaitlynn Malik and this is my story.

24. Chapter 23.

I leave my things where they are and race up the basement stairs, hoping to find Liam still here. As I reach the living area, I had notice my brother, Harry, Louis, and Niall, but there is no sight of Liam. I quickly grab my car keys from the countertop, making my way to my vehicle as I ignore the multiple calls of my name from the boys. I quickly sit inside my car and turn it on, leaving the radio alone as I was in a rush to find Liam. I had barely noticed that the drizzle that once was occupied the sky had now become a raging storm, and my windshield wipers weren't working. I continuously tried to get them to work, but each attempt led to yet another fail. My headlights were on bright but were not helping at all.
After a moment or two, I had decided I was going to pull over and call Liam to pick me up, but it was too late. In that instant, I had gained the slightest view as to where the road was, and the only obstacle that I saw before me was an oak tree; and I had absolutely no time to make any maneuvers that would save me.
