Over Again

Ashlyn Rose was your typical hormonal teenager, She did typical teenager things; listened and played music, hung-out with friends and obsessed over boys. There was this one boy in particular though, who changed Ashlyn's world upside-down. But with him gone, she finds herself lost; with no one to trust. When she could potentially find love again will she let them in? or lock them out?

3. Him

Ashlyn's POV

"Liam" My voice rings out into the crowded store. Everyone seemed to be wanting coffees this morning. That meant more money.

A man approaches me, short haired and fairly built. He smiled warmly as he took his coffee from my grasp.

"Have a lovely day" I say with a smile.

"Same to you love" He returns my smile and walks out. I look out the door after him and he waves before getting in his car, and driving off. I turn my attention to the next person in line.

"Hello Sir, what could I get for you?"

I close the store with an exhausted sigh. I walk out and trudge home. I make it to my door in one piece and I slide down the length of my door, sitting at the base if it. I lean my head back and close my eyes. There were a lot of people at the store today. I was too tired to eat or do anything more, so I just walked straight to my bed and fell into a deep slumber.

Waking up to pounding on the door isn’t exactly what everyone expects to wake up to but me, it seems almost routine.

“Good morning Hal.” I chime as I swing the door open. Hal worked with me down in the music store. He ran the music shop while I did lessons and took my shift at the till of the coffee shop. Hal was my right-hand man; my best friend really.

Hal was reasonably taller than me with short hair that was always styled up - not with gel, but that’s how his hair is – and he always wore a smile. He leaned in and smiled

“Good morning Ash. Ready for a great day ahead of us?” He asks. I look at him strangely. He seemed slightly more chipper than usual today.

“What are you up to Hal?” I asked with a brow raised.

Hal simply raised his arms in surrender. “I am up to nothing.”

“Absolutely. I promise.” I smile and tell him I’ll be right down to open the shop. He tells me to hurry and he leaves.

Hal and I had a pretty easy day really. Not very many people came by.

We were talking about music when the bell chimes; signaling a customer. I stand up and walk over to the till. A hooded figure walks up to me, “You’ve got any Pink Floyd?”

All I can do is nod. I try to see his face but it’s hard to make out his features with the hood masking his face. I lead him to the corner of the store and I start to dig through the vinyl. Finally when I come across it I reach out and place it gently in his hands. He mumbles a quick thanks and walks to the cash. I follow after him.

While I was ringing up the mysterious man, Hal calls out to me. “See you tomorrow Ash!” I look up and smile at him.

“See you Hal”

When I focus back on ringing up the man he is staring at me; his eye piercing through me. I start to shift; feeling uncomfortable.

“Ashlyn Rose?” his voice croaks out.

I would know that voice anywhere. I’ve spent many nights recalling it; the way it says given words, the way it moves when it speaks, and the way it vibrates through my chest. I couldn’t believe it, yet here he was, plain as day.

He was standing right in front of me.

OKAY! So I realize it isn't all that great but I decided to leave it hanging, who do you think it is? Hmmmmm? Comment what you think!
