20. Catching Up

Gemma's POV

When Harry called me and said that he wanted me to meet his new girlfriend, I'll admit, I was fearful. I mean the last one, yes, she was accomplished in the same industry as Harry creating some common interests and all. But when she asked for how much money he had, I lost it. I stood from the table and poured my wine down the front of the little pretty white dress. Ops.

Harry told me to meet him at this little cafe across town. It was fairly secluded. I mean I think that's the point but, whatever. It had a counter and little booths scattered around the room. Pale green walls and the old scrapped wood flooring adding to the homey feeling. I cozied into my sweater more as I awaited the arrival of my brother. After moments have passed I watch as he walks in and smiles as he meets me half way. Harry pulls me into a great hug and he kisses the top of my head.

"I've missed you." His voice comes out murmured through my hair.

"Missed you too Hazza." He pulled me back and took in my face.

"Right. On that note, I'll go get Ash for you. Be right back" With that Harry exited the restaurant and out to his car. I watched as he helped a girl out of the car, though given the distance, I couldn't tell much. He strides back in and keeps her sheltered from me. It was one time! I mean, Taylor practically begged for the drink to end up on her lap!

Just then, Harry opened his mouth again.

"Gemma, I'd like you to meet Ashlyn Marie Rose."

I'm pretty sure my jaw hit the floor at that moment. Ashlyn stepped out from behind Harry and gave me a small but noticeable wave.

"ASHLYN!" I screamed and engulfed her in a hug. "I always knew you two would date! Yay! I'm so happy for you two!"

Harry stood there with a smile plastered on his face. When Ashlyn and I had finished our little catch up he spoke.

"Lunch?" He gestured to the booth and called over a waitress.

"Did you dye your hair?"

"Yes, it's defiantly darker. I think you dyed it."

"No, Harry. I don't think I did actually."

"Harry, it's the same shade as I remember it being."

"No! It's darker."

"Harry, you've gone mad."

"Yeah, Haz, completely mad."

Harry huffed and gave up on trying to convince Ash and I that my hair was different.

I really hadn't done anything with my hair.

Ashlyn's POV

Catching up with Gemma was great. I had really missed her. We traded numbers before Harry and I left her to herself. Stepping outside, the cold was like a slap to the face. Harsh. Harry pulled me closer to his warm body and I snuggled in further to my jacket. We walked briskly to the car and Harry started it up and drove me home.

Getting out my keys, I realize that my door is open. Did I forget to close it on the way out? Probably. I do it all the time, so it wouldn't be a first. Opening the door the rest of the way, I step into my flat.

When I look up, my jaw drops.
