"What's the good of drawing in the next breath if all you do is let it out and draw in another?"
-Marilyn Monroe

1. Drawings

I knew a girl who liked to draw.

She drew when nobody saw.

She was the most artistic late at night.

In her room, out of sight.

They took away her precious diary,

So she was left alone to draw quietly.

Her drawings didn't need any paper or pen.

Just some bandages now and again.

With every passing day, her galleries grew.

She lied to herself, lived untrue.

One night, under the starry sky,

We laid quiet, side-by-side.

She rolled up her sleeves, revealing her scars.

She told me it was a battle worth fought.

Not proud of her deeds, she looked down at her shoes.

So, I rolled up my sleeves and said 'I draw too.'
