15. Movie Date

"We should go see a movie" I said to Casey, thinking it would melt away the awkward. "Yeah sure, what movie?" She said getting off the bed and opening the door. "I don't know I'd have to see what's playing" I pulled out my phone and googled movie times. "Uh..." I stammered scrolling through the lists. "How's Elysium?" I asked. She gave me a weird look "Yeah, no" she said. "The Conjuring?" I asked her. "What are the times?" She said back. I'm guessing that was a yes to that. "2:30, 4:25, 5:40, 6:30, and 8:45” I said. "What time is it now" I looked at the time on my phone. "6:02" I said simply. "We'll I guess 6:30 then" she smiled. She grabbed her purse and slipped shoes on. I grabbed my boots and pulled them on. We walked out to the car.mi opened her door and walked to my side. I spared us getting lost by typing in the address of the movie theatre on the maps app on my phone. I drove into the parking lot and parked next to the theatre. Casey and I walked in and waited in line to buy tickets. The people in line before us stared at me, but didn't walk up to us. "I'll take the next people" the ticket person said. We went over "two for The Conjuring please" I said. She handed me the tickets and we went to go get popcorn. Casey took charge of that and I bout some cookie dough balls. Casey came ack with a large popcorn completely drenched in butter and salt. "Holy crap Casey!" I said to her. She laughed and kept dumping salt in the popcorn. I payed for everything and we found our theatre. We chose seats right in the middle. We were almost the only ones in the theatre because it came out nearly two months ago. After all the previews past, the creepy music started as the intro credits found their way to the screen. Barely fifteen minutes into the film, Casey was latched around my arm. She jumped even when little thumps happened. It was cute and funny. I had my arm around her shoulder and she leaned into my chest as we watched the movie. When the demon came out and screamed she jumped back into me. "Holy shit" she accidentally slipped out. I heard the people behind us laugh a little bit. Still, she managed to be chomping down on her buttery greasy salty popcorn without choking on it every time she jumped.
When the movie ended she threw her popcorn box away. "That movie wasn't even that scary" she bluffed as we were walking out of the theatre. "Oh what ever" I laughed. "You were buried into me as much as you were the popcorn" I teased. She rolled her eyes and smiled "okay whatever you say" she slurred. We both knew it scared her. I even jumped a couple times. We walked back to my car. "Can you take me to my flat?" She asked me. I would have tried to get her to go back to my place but I knew she wouldn't. I didn't even argue. "Sure babe" I said and put her address in my phone so I wouldn't get lost. I get lost a lot... I drove out of the theatre and headed to her flat. I parked in front of the building and walked up with her. It was dark out. It was nearly 10:00. "Can I stay a little bit?" I asked her. "Yeah, sure" we walked up the stairs and got to her door. I forced it open and she walked in behind me. We sat on her small little couch. I kicked my feet up and Casey squeezed next to me, my arm around her. Laying on the couch, we were talking about anything. We were talking about nothing, nine of it was even worth saying. "Did I tell you about the time I choked on a nickel?" She asked me. "No" I laughed. She told me the story about how she choked on a nickel when she was four. She thought it was he funniest thing ever, laughing so hard she could barely even talk. "And I still HATE nickels because of it" she said. Stupid stories went on forever... Or at least until it was time for me to go home. I begged Casey to let me stay, she wasn't having it. She almost pushed me out the door. I was pulling myself back in. I leaned in to kiss her. She kissed me back and hugged me goodbye. I walked back to the car and drove back home.
