28. Weary Decisions

(One week later)

Jessica's POV

Christmas was coming nearer and nearer.

It was the 21st of November and I haven't seen Justin since he came to me while I was working.

Zachary and Flynn constantly asked where Justin is. I always tell them he's away and that I don't know when he'll be back.

It's the truth.

Pattie told me about their encounter with Justin in the park and how the boys were so happy to see him.

It broke my heart to hear the boys mourning because they missed Justin.

I go up from my bed to answer the doorbell, that was going off downstairs. I hurriedly tugged on my sandy cardigan and wrapped it around my front, to cover up the cleavage my tank-top exposed.

'Hello.' I said as I opened the door.

Surprise struck me as I saw the muscular tattooed arms of Christian Bieber at my door. His black hair was in his face and his piecing blue-eyes looked dull.

His life hasn't been very good, I've heard.

'Hey Jess.' He said, as I stepped a side to let him in.

'Chris, what are you doing here?' I asked him, stunned to see him here.

'Im here to talk about Justin. And see the little man.' Chris replied with a small grin.

'Oh ok.' I said as he sat down at one of the couches in the living room.

'Would you like a tea or coffee?' I suggested, scratching the back of my neck awkwardly.

'A coffee would be great.' Chris replied, before he stood up and followed me into the kitchen.

'So... How's Justin?' I asked, as I boiled the kettle.

'Hes.... Not so good. In fact, not good at all.' Chris replied.

'Is he alright? What do you mean?' I asked, my back leaning against the kitchen counter.

'Hes far from alright. He's a drug-addict. You don't know who he is anymore. He never comes it of his room in the drug house and when he does, it's to get some heroin.' Chris explained as I pulled a coffee mug from me of the overhead cupboards.

'That's awful.' I said, feeling bad for the way Justin behaves.

'It is. He's become more involved with the drug dealing then I have. He drinks alcohol, he commits suburban crime, he smokes cigarettes...' Chris said, crossing his arms over his chest and shaking his head.

'And the list goes on.' Chris finished, as the kettle stopped boiling.

I stood there, dumbfounded and disappointed in Justin. I heard about this before, when he told me himself, but that didn't seem as bad as it is now.

'That's horrible.' I mumbled, pouring the water in the mug.

'It really is.' Chris said, just as Zachary came in.

'Hey little buddy.' Chris said, as he scooped Zachary up and hugged him.

'Hey uncwel Chris!' Zachary said, smiling.

'Hows it going buddy?' Chris asked, as he put Zachary down to big Flynn.

Christian visited the boys very rarely.

When it was just me and Zach, he would visit maybe one every two months. And he visited us just 4 days ago.

'Here's your coffee.' I said, handing Chris the mahogany mug as we walked into the living room.

Justin's POV

I grunted and put he syringe down as my phone rang.

'What?!' I said into the phone with my voice raspier than normal.

'Hi to you to Justin.' The familiar voice of Arden rung through the speaker.

'What do you want sl*t.' I groaned, positioning my phone on the over ear.

'Well I want to tell you I have about 2 weeks until the due date.' She said, as a crackling was heard in the background interfering the call.

'That's great.' I spat sarcastically, before hovering my finger over the 'end call'.

'Look,' she sighed, 'I just want you to be here for the birth of our child. I won't hassle you anymore if the test comes out negative. Just come to Atlanta for a few weeks, do the test, check the results, then go back. Just tell that stingy girlfriend of yours your going on some business trip.'

'She heard about your baby. So she broke up with me. And she is most definitely not stingy.' I said flatly, wanting to cry at the thought of Jessica and I not together.

'Well that makes it perfect then.' Arden replied, the smirk evident in her whiny voice.

'It'll clash with Christmas.' I said, frowning.

'Yeah well you can be back before Christmas if your organized. Leave in the next few days, maybe the 23rd, stay with me until my due date, which is the 9th of December, have the test done, wait two weeks then the results should be back by the 23rd. Then, you should be back by the 25th.' Arden simply explained as it was nothing.

With a blurry vision, weary head, unclear thinking and a syringe in my hand, I made my decision.

'I'll be there on the 23rd.'
