29. Leaving

Justin’s POV

I tugged my black suitcase off the queen size mattress in the drug-house loft and hauled it downstairs.

‘Yo, man where you going?’ Levi asked, raising his eyebrows at me while he crossed his arms over his chest.

‘I’m going on a business trip.’ I said, rolling my eyes.

‘Since when do you have a job?’ Levi asked, looking unconvinced.

‘It’s not a business business trip… it’s the other business.’ I said, running a hand through my hair and looking down at my Rolex.

‘Oh, aight. Well when ya gonna be back?’ he asked, pushing himself up from the wall he was leaning on.

‘Just before Christmas.’ I said, hauling the suitcase out the door towards my range rover.

‘Want me to drive ya?’ he asked, as I threw him the keys.

‘It’ll help.’ I said, opening the boot, throwing my luggage in there, closing it and walked to the passenger side of the car.

‘So we going to Toronto?’ Levi asked, doing his seatbelt.

‘Yep.’ I replied, sighing sadly, hoping this is the right decision.

‘Seeya bro.’ Levi said, dropping me off at the entrance of the airport after going me a fist-bump.

‘Oh and don’t tell Chris and the others ‘bout this. Just tell them I was staying at some mate’s house in Milverton.’ I said, before he nodded and drove off.

I sighed, ran a hand through my hair and walked into the airport, towards passport checks and baggage-checking.

Jessica’s POV

‘Sweet, can you go to the warehouse downtown and bring the next stock.’ Matilda asked, as she folded clothes into a costumer’s bag.

‘Ok, sure.’ I said, grabbing the keys from my shoulder bag and walked towards Pattie’s car. I hopped in and pushed the keys into the ignition.

I drove to the supply warehouse and parked in front of it on the curb. I got out, breathing in the cold air.

It hasn’t snowed yet, but I’m sure it will before Christmas.

I walked towards the entrance which was a large archway in the rendered building, and walked up to a workman.

‘Ah hello.’ I said, tapping his shoulder.

‘Oh hello.’ He said, turning around exposing his silver-gray beard.

‘I’m here to pick up the next stock for the boutique on Brunswick street.’ I asked, twisting my fingers.

‘oh.’ He said, as I followed him towards a stack of 4 boxes.

‘this is what we got today from Vancouver, the rest is arriving in the next few days.’ He said, handing me a box as he hauled the other two.

‘Oh thank you.’ I said, as he put 3 boxes into the back-seat, one in the boot and one in the passenger seat.

‘No problem.’ He said, as I drove off towards the boutique once again.

Justin’s POV

Three and a half hours later, I arrived at Atlanta airport. I was dreading seeing Arden’s face, but I suppose I had nothing else to do.

I walked out of the plane with my hand luggage and towards the baggage-pickup.

I claimed my suitcase, and walked towards the entrance. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and went to call Arden.

That’s when I heard the rapid click of heels getting louder, and I looked up.

There with her bleached hair, fake tan and French manicure was Arden, with an 8 month baby bump.

She really did look like a sl*t.

‘Hey justy!’ she said, wrapping her arms around my neck, giving me a hug.

I just stood there, waiting for her to get off me. When she did, she pat my cheek and said

‘You look dull and tired. Come on, let’s go to my apartment.’

She took my hand and dragged me to her car, which was her white BMW. She hopped in the passenger seat and I looked at her confused.

‘You drive.’ She said, as I rolled my eyes and slid into the driver’s seat.

I pushed the keys into the ignition and turned it, while breathing in the leather smell of the seats.

‘Where to?’ I asked bluntly, as she typed in an address on her GPS. I shrugged absent-mindedly and followed her directions to a high-rise apartment building.

I wonder if Dav still lives in that apartment I lived in while I was here.

She got out, straightening out her warm fur jacket.

‘Come on.’ She said, as I got out with my suitcase and followed her to the entrance. She strode towards the elevator and pressed the button with her index finger.

Soon, the light flashed overhead and the elevator doors opened. A butler was in there, standing straightly near the elevator panel.

‘Floor 6.’ Arden said snobby as he nodded and pressed the button. When we arrived to the floor, we walked to room number 670. She opened the door with her key and we walked in.

The place was huge and grand.

‘my dad bought it for me… before he died.’ Arden said, turning to face me. She sighed sadly, and showed me my room.

‘You can stay in here.’ She said a forced smile on her face.

I didn’t want to seem like a cold-hearted criminal, so I grabbed her wrist as she was going out.

‘Sorry about your dad.’ I said, grinning a sympathetic smile. She smiled back before walking out.

Maybe it won’t be so bad.
