My Best Nightmare

I thought he was this great amazing guy, at first. He was supposed to be this sweet, loving and caring guy, but he was far from that. I thought he loved me. Then "He" came into my life. He made things better. I was happier.

Who's love story is this anyway? Who will Julie end up with? Will she go back to Justin or stay with her new "Love"?

13. You've Changed

*Julie’s POV*

“Are you alright?” Jc looked at me.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” I lied.

“No, you’re not.”

“Yes, I am. I’m not the one who got into a fight you are. Are you alright?”

“Yes.”

“Good.”

“What are you not telling me?”

“Nothing.”

“Lie again.”

“I’m not lying.”

“Bull. Shit.”

“I don’t wanna talk about it.”

“Well, we’re gonna talk about it.”

“No, we’re not.” He doesn’t run my life he doesn’t get to make decisions for me. He can’t keep fighting because of me. Like Connor said, he’s gonna get himself hurt or worse.

“Julie, talk to me please.” I looked him in the eyes. Mistake of my life.

“Fine, you can’t keep doing this.” I flailed my arms around.

“Doing what?”

“Fighting. You’re gonna get yourself hurt or worse…” I trailed off at the thought. “I couldn’t live with myself if something happened t-“

“Nothing is gonna happened to me.”

“How could you possibly know that? How do you know that, things wouldn’t have gone wrong? I can’t let you keep doing this.”

“What are you talking about?” At this point I couldn’t look him in the eyes.

“No.” I could tell he was looking at me. “Hell no! No. I won’t let you.” I still didn’t look at him.

“I can handle myself.”

“No, you’re not going back to him. He doesn’t deserve you. He doesn’t treat you like he should. You’re kidding me, right?”

“No, I can’t let you get hurt.”

“Well, I can’t let you get hurt either. I love you.” I looked up into his eyes. I couldn’t believe what I heard.

“I-I. I love you, too. That’s why I can’t let you get hurt because of me. I can’t stand here and watch you fight someone. If I lost you, I don’t know what I’d do.”

“And I can’t lose you. You brighten up every single day of my life. Ever since I met you I knew you were special. I can’t let you go back to him, cause I know what could or would happen if you did.” What does that mean?

*Jc’s POV*

“What do you mean?” Julie looked at me with her innocent eyes.

“If you went back to him he’d hurt you or worse.”

“He wouldn’t.” She argued.

“But he would.”

“How do you know?”

“It wouldn’t be the first time he did. About two years ago, Justin dated a girl named Maria. She supposedly ‘drowned’ in his pool. She didn’t drown, she was captain of the swim team. She was a great swimmer. Maria’s family took him to court, her mom didn’t like him she knew he killed her. I know he did too. In court he told the judge that she used to sleepwalk especially on days she went to practice or she had matches, and he would always find her walking down to his backdoor in the middle of the night, and one day he didn’t catch her and when he woke up she was dead in the pool. I didn’t believe that story, and I still don’t. He hated when she had practice and matches because she’d come home so late, he got mad and drowned her. I can’t let him kill you.” I told her the honest truth.

“Fine, I won’t go. But, promise me you’ll stop fighting.”

“I promise, now can we go to bed?”

“Yeah, come on.” We crawled into bed, and went to sleep.

*Julie’s POV*

“No! Stop! Don’t hurt him! I love him. Why are you doing this?” I yelled. Justin was beating Jc, there was blood everywhere. I screamed and screamed. He laid there, frozen. I screamed even louder.

“Did you really think you could just leave me, and be with him? Well, I hate to bust your bubble, but getting rid of me won’t be that easy. You’ll never get rid of me.” His eyes started to glow red. “Come back to me, or he will die.”

I woke up sweating. My clothes sticking to me like a wet bathing suit. I changed into a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.

~·~

“I love you.” I whispered as I climbed out the window. Thank God this is a one story house. I ran down the street, trying to get as far away from Jc’s house as I can. “Why didn’t I grab a jacket before I left?” I asked myself. “I can’t believe I’m doing this. I think I’m going crazy.” I finally reached the front door.

“Who is it?” The familiar voice said through the door.

“It’s me. Open up.” He opened the door slowly.

“Well, well, well. Look who decided to come back.” He smirked at me, a cold shiver went down my spine.

“I’m here to make a deal with you.”

“And what would that be?” His cold eyes staring me down, a wicked smile spread across his mouth.

“I’ll come back to you, no questions asked, if you never bother Jc ever again.”

“What if I don’t agree to your deal?”

“Then I’ll have to kill you.” His smile dropped.

“Really? How are you gonna do that?”

“With this.” I pulled a gun from my purse. “Did you not expect to see it?”

“No, but mine is bigger.” And of course he pulls a gun from the hem of his shorts.

“It’s not the size of the gun that matters, it’s the power of it.”

“True. You’ve changed.”

“I haven’t changed at all, I’m just prepared this time. So what’s it gonna be? Are we gonna make a deal or are you wanting to die?”

“I don’t think you’ll kill me. You’ll go to prison, and you can’t handle that can you?”

“Who said I’ll go to prison?” I tilted my head to the side.

“Murder is a crime, honey.”

I started to cry, my lips shaking. “He. He held a gun to me. He said he can’t go to jail for kidnapping me. He told me to pull the trigger. Or he’ll kill me and my mom.” I stopped shaking and crying.”How do you think that will sound in court? Because I think they will eat that up. ‘I didn’t want to pull the trigger, I just didn’t want him to kill me or my mom.’ It’s good enough right?”

“You bitch. You’ve learned a lot. Did Jc put you up to this?”

“No, he doesn’t know I’m here, no one does.”

“Alright, how about we make a different deal?”

“What?”

“You go back to your little boyfriend and this never happened.”

“How do I know you’re not gonna shoot me as soon as I turn around?”

“You’ll just have to trust me.”

“Yeah, that was the mistake I made the first time. No. You’re gonna throw your gun on the lawn and go back into your house and lock the door.”

“Fine.” He threw the gun and went back inside and locked the door. I walked away feeling confident in what just happened.

“Hey there. You need a ride?”  A strange voice said. “Sure you do.” He said pushing me into the car.

“Who are you?”

“You don’t need to know that.” He said driving away.

“What do you want?”

“You ask a lot of questions. You know that? Justin was right about you.”

“What did you just say?  Justin doesn’t know me.”

“Apparently he does. You were just at his house. You pulled a gun on him. I think he knows you. And don’t even think about pulling that gun on me.”

“What do you want?”

“Nothing. I wanna talk to you.” I doubt it.

“Really, about what?”

“You.” He pulled into the driveway of a house.

“Where are we?”

“My house. Get out.” He said with a cold voice.

“No thank you. I don’t go in strangers’ houses, I learned to not do that last time.” He got out the car and opened the door on my side, grabbing me and picking me up over his shoulder. He took my gun and threw it in the grass. “Put me down.” He took me in the house and sat me on the couch.

“Who the hell are you?”

“I’m Sawyer Hartman.”

“Why the hell am I here, Sawyer?”

“You’re beautiful.” Not this again. Why the hell does this keep happening to me?

“No.”

“Yes, you are.”

“No, I know I am. I mean, no to what you’re thinking.”

“Well, if you don’t we’ll kill your little boyfriend.”

“What we? You’re the only other person here.”

“I got my boys watching him sleeping. He hasn’t noticed you’re gone yet. I watched you leave, and saw you were heading over to Justin’s. So, I thought why don’t I get in on some of this. And, well here you are.”

“You are sick and twisted.”

“But, you don’t want your little boy toy to die, isn’t that the whloe reason you went to Justin’s? I can call them and they’ll  kill him while he’s still sleep. He’ll go peacefully.”

“Yes, bu-“

“But what? You don’t want to be the reason he dies. You said it yourself. Remember?”

“Yeah, I remember. Why are you stalking me?”

“Like I said you’re beautiful. Am I going to kill him, or not?”

“No.”

“Good girl. I’ll take you back to Jc later.”

“Bye.” A wicked smile spread across his lips.

“Are you gonna stop stalking me and Jc?”

“I’ll think about it.” With that he drove away. I climbed into an opened window, back into the house. I laid back in bed, and fell asleep.
