2. Chapter 1

Liam’s POV

“You’re fucking telling me, that you went on a date with my ex?” I asked Niall, in an irritated tone.

“Yes, and she still looks great. She doesn’t dance though.” Niall said.

“What, wait, what?” I asked confused. “She loves dancing. She said she wouldn’t give up on it, like ever.” I sighed.

“Yeah, that was until she lost everything else she wanted.” Niall shrugged.

“What are you talking about?” I asked, even more confused.

“She lost you, she has to leave Loki with her sister – because he thinks you’ll be walking in with her. She can’t hang out with El, without wondering how we’re doing, because Lou is usually with her.” Niall said.

“I, I, I’m the reason she doesn’t do what she loves?” I asked hesitantly.

“Yes, because she lost the one thing she loved. Okay, and she had to give up on him after she found out – over headlines – that ‘Liam Payne’s new girlfriend’ is the new thing in town. In 2016 she called dancing quits, after seeing you two were still together.” Niall confessed.

“I, I feel like shit now. I’m just going for a walk, okay?” I stated.

“Marcie, love, I’m going for a walk!” I yelled. “Oh, and Niall might still be here!” I stated as I walked out of the house.

Dani’s POV

“El, I need to go, another wedding to plan.” I said as I walked out of her and Lou’s house.

“Okay, call me later.” El said.

“See you Peaz.” Lou called out.

“Bye Tomm.” I called back.

I started walking towards the head office building. I still lived in London, because it was the centre of famous people, so the money was great for planning weddings. I walked through a park, seeing that it was a nice day in London. The sun was shining, clouds were light, and the wind was light.

“Hey, Dani.” I heard a guy’s voice. I turned and saw Niall.

“I still can’t get used to you with brown hair again.” I giggled.

“Well get used to it.” Niall smiled.

“I will, because we’ll have friendly dates, how about, a movie tonight?” I asked.

“Sure, I mean, I don’t have that much to do after our band isn’t touring and busy all the time.” Niall shrugged.

“Great, bring some movies over, or we can choose from my collection.” I smiled.

“Sure thing, love.” Niall smiled in return.

“Okay, well, I’ve got work to attend.” I said.

“Wait, you didn’t tell me where you worked.” Niall stated.

“I’m a wedding planner.” I stated.

“Oh, well, have fun.” Niall smiled.

“You can come too, if you want.” I stated.

“Sure, I’ll just go get my car.” Niall said.

“Mmm hmm. I’ll just meet you on the other side of the park, okay?” I nodded.

“Okay, love, I’ll see you there.” Niall walked away.

“See you.” I walked away.

I saw more people, more than when I arrived. I saw dogs running around, casing their tails, playing with toys. I missed Loki, and  I missed Liam.

“Yeah, yeah, Marcie, I know, love, I know we’ve got to meet our wedding planner soon.” I heard a man on the phone.

“Yes love, I love you too.” The same man said on the phone.

“I’ll be there in about 10 minutes.” He said.

“Bye, love.” I could hear the phone click.

His voice was familiar. I had accidentally ran into a body, and it felt familiar.

“Sorry, love.” The same guy on the phone, it was his voice.

“Wait, I’m sorry, Liam.” I giggled.

“You know who I am? Stupid question, I was in One Direction.” Liam chuckled.

“Liam, don’t you recognise me?” I asked.

“No, should I?” He asked.

“Well, I dated you for 3 years Liam, and that’s all you have to say ‘should I?’ really?” I asked.

“Dani, whoa, Niall wasn’t kidding when he said you still looked great.” Liam muttered and he quickly hugged me.

“Hey, Liam, I’ve got to go. I’m sorry.” I quickly pulled away, feeling empty as I did.

“Oh, it’s fine, I have to leave too. Wedding planning.” Liam stated.

“Oh, well, it was nice to see you.” I smiled.

“Bye Dani, I hope to see you soon.” Liam said.

“Me too.” I smiled. “Bye Liam.”

-- Later, at work

“So, that was the office.” I said to Niall after I gave him a tour of the building.

“That was a nice building, better than Modest!Management’s building.” Niall joked.

“Oh, I just hated that place, it was a nice building, but the people weren’t very nice.” I said.

“Me too, but we had to work with them. It was a hard 8 years.” Niall stated.

“I know, I remember Liam when he would return from tours, interviews, premieres, award shows.” I said.

“I bet you missed that, didn’t you? Liam actually coming back for you, and for you to be away. Is that why you quit dancing, so you could win Liam again?” Niall asked.

“Sometimes, sometimes I hoped he would return if he saw that I wasn’t dancing. Then I became a wedding planner, hoping to not put away the dream of happiness – but it’s for everyone else.” I stated

“Aww, I feel bad for you.” Niall sighed.

“Niall, it’s fine. Did I mention, I saw Liam earlier? It was nice, we hugged.” I sighed.

“Really? It must have been nice. Did he know you were with me?” Niall asked.

“No, I tried rushing out, so I told him I had to go, and he had to too anyways.” I shrugged.

“Well, at least we’re spending time together.” Niall smiled.

“Like best friends.” I giggled.

“Like best friends.” Niall agreed.

“Come on best friend, you can come with me and meet my new clients.” I smiled.

“Sure, but I’m just your friend, remember.” Niall winked jokingly.

Oh, I love you so much.” I joked. “But seriously, come on, we’re almost late.”

“Okay, okay, let’s go.” Niall said.

-- After an elevator ride --

“Okay, Danielle, your clients are waiting, here’s your list, and welcome Mr. Horan.” My secretary Hilary said.

“Okay, thanks Hilary. Are they in there?” I asked, pointing towards my office.

“Yes, trust me, you’ll be getting a good pay for this one.” Hilary stated.

“It’s not for the money Hilary, it’s for their happiness.” I stated as I walked away.

“Fine, fine, but you won’t be saying that in a few minutes.” Hilary shrugged.

“Okay, okay.” I said. I walked into my office. “Hello, my name’s Danielle, call me Dani, and I’ll be your new wedding planner.” I said to the couple.
