Fighting for Love (LOUIS TOMLINSON)

It all started with the one thing that everyone needs LOVE. Some people never learned to love, trust, and have faith in any relationship. Never loved by anyone growing up as an orphan, Laura Phillip has no clue what love is or what comes with it. Louis Tomlinson was her only friend in the orphanage. Once they were old enough to leave the orphanage Laura was gone. When her and Louis meet again what will happen. When he tries to confess is attraction to her, will the truth come out? Will he finally realize all the issues that lie in her shadow? Will he be able to show her, what love is and how to love or will it all end in heartbreak for the one and only Louis?

Let’s find out.

7. The Walk and Lunch Date

***Laura’s POV***

After closing the door in the blonde Irish boy’s face, I walked over to the couch after being greeted by my little Pit Bull puppy Hailey. I picked her up and sat her down next to me on the couch as I thought things through.

First of all, I wondered about why he would come all the way to my apartment to talk to me. Of course he said that I had ruined his best friend’s life, but there’s no way I could’ve ruined Louis’ life. I don’t think I could have? We barely know each other!

Louis would be so much better off without me in his life. Telling him what I told him was for his own good.

He needed to be with someone that can love him back, and I’m not capable of that right now. Even though I don’t know him all that well, I want the best for him.

As I was deep in thought, I heard the loud phone ringing and I groaned. I stood up and looked around for the obnoxious phone. After finding it in my room, I sighed and looked at the screen, to find that Eleanor was calling. I slid the answer button across the screen and mumbled a “Hello?”

“Oh my god so Niall Horan was looking for you today?! Did he ever find you? He came into the lobby and talked to me and I got concert tickets and he winked at me and… Laura are you even listening to me?!”

“Hello to you too Eleanor,” I said with an eye roll that she obviously couldn’t see. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure it was him that found me today. Blonde. Irish. Blue eyes?”

“Yes! That’s him!” She squealed.

I squinted and pulled the phone away from my ear, putting it back in place when she was done with her outburst.

“What did he say?!” she continued.

“Why don’t we go to lunch at the little restaurant around the corner and I’ll explain everything? I’ll have Leila come too.”

“Okay sounds great! Meet me in the lobby when I get off work in 2 hours and we’ll drive over there together!” Eleanor said happily.

“Okay El, see you later,” I said quietly, not in the mood to match her giddy tone.

We exchanged goodbyes and I quickly hung up the phone, flopping down on my bed. I guess I’ll just have to tell them what’s been going on with me and Louis. They are my friends after all, right? They deserve to know. I’m hoping that Eleanor doesn’t faint when I tell her I know Louis…. I know she’s a big fan of them.

I figured I’d call Leila so that she’d have time to get ready before we go out to lunch. I know it takes her an hour just do her makeup. I rolled my eyes at the thought and dialed her number on my phone.

She picks up after a couple rings with an excited “Hey Laur!”

“Hey Lei Lei, are you busy today?” I asked, hoping that she’d be able to come with us.

“Nope, why?”

“Do you want to go to lunch with me and El? I have something to tell you guys.”

“Yay! Sure, what time are y’all going?”

“It’s 10 now, so meet us there at about noon?” I said with a hint of question in my voice.

“Sounds great! I’ll see ya soon!” She replied happily. Her and Eleanor are both so happy and cheerful all the time. I wish I could take after them.

“Bye Lei!” “Bye Laur!”

We hung up and I sighed, walking back out to the couch to watch TV for a little bit. I had gone to Starbucks earlier, so I was already dressed and my hair and makeup was done.

Of course as I turn on the TV, I see the music video to a song that I’ve come to find out is very popular. The five boys of One Direction dance around in the video to “What Makes You Beautiful”, and I rolled my eyes as the screen shows Louis’ familiar face. I also notice the blond boy that came to my apartment today. I’ve never seen the other boys before, but Louis has told me about them. Now while I have the chance, I look at each of the other three boys intently. The one with the black hair, styled up in a quiff, and pretty brown eyes caught my attention the most.

I shut off the TV after flipping through some more channels and looked at the clock. 10:53. About an hour before I have to meet Eleanor.

I looked around the apartment, finally finding the puppy.

“Want to go for a walk Hailey?”

The grey and white puppy’s green eyes stared up at me, her small tail wagging.

“Okay, come here, let’s get your leash on!” I walked over to the closet and grabbed her pink sparkly leash, attaching it to her matching collar.

We walked out the door, and I locked it behind me. “These stairs will be the death of me,” I mumbled as we walked down the flight of stairs.

Walking around the complex, we came in contact with a few other dogs, and Hailey didn’t hesitate to start barking and jumping.

I checked the time on my phone, and it was already 11:30. We had been walking for a while, so I decided to go back in the house, touch up my makeup, and go meet Eleanor a little early.

We walked back up the stairs and into the small apartment. I unhooked Hailey’s leash and she trotted to her dog bed and lied down. I let out a small laugh and hung up the leash in the closet.

I re-applied my mascara and put on a little bit of blush, and I was ready to go.

“Hi El!” I said as I walked into the lobby to find it empty besides my friend behind the desk.

“Hey girl! You ready to go?”

“Definitely, let’s get out of here,” I replied.

She left the desk, leaving her co-worker Matt to take her place. We walked out to her car, and drove to the restaurant down the street from the apartment complex.

When we arrived, it was almost noon and Leila hadn’t gotten there yet. We rolled our eyes, knowing that Lei would be late.

We got a table and I shot Leila a quick text, letting her know that we were here. A few minutes later, she walked in, her blonde hair in a ponytail, and a pink tank top and white shorts on.

“Hey!” All 3 of us said at once. We laughed at this and Leila sat down next to me, across from El.

“So….” She started. “What did you want to tell us?!”

“Well.. You guys know that boy band One Direction right?”

“Yes!” They both squealed.

“I happen to know Louis Tomlinson, and I’ve been having some problems with him. I’m not sure if I can call them relationship problems or even friendship problems.” I said quietly. “We.. Um… we had a past, we were friends for about a month before he became famous… and we just recently ran into each other again. But he thinks that he can just come back into my life and we can have a relationship. It’s not that easy though…” I continued.

Their expressions matched perfectly. Eyes wide, and jaws dropped.

Eleanor was the first to speak after a few moments of silence. Scream, rather than speak.

“YOU KNOW LOUIS TOMLINSON?!” She yelled, jumping up and down.

“Shush! We’re in a restaurant!” I tried to quiet her down.

“Oh, yeah, sorry.” She giggled, then repeated in a whisper-yell, “YOU KNOW LOUIS TOMLINSON?!”

“Ugh, yes! What’s the big deal?”

“The big deal is that he’s in the biggest boyband in the world! He’s rich, famous, cute, he can sing, he’s famous, the list can go on and on!” Leila squeaked.

“You said he’s famous twice,” I replied with a laugh. “But really, it’s not a big deal. I just don’t know how to deal with the situation. You girls have any advice?” I asked hopefully.

“What advice is there to give?! Get your ass out there and go get your man!” Eleanor said loudly, then quieting down, probably anticipating that I would tell her to be quiet.

“Fine! You know best El, if that’s what you think I should do, then I will!” I said jokingly.

“Yay!” El and Lei said together. I didn’t expect them to take it seriously.

Leila got up and suddenly sported a sad expression, “Well girls, I’ve got to get to work! Laura, do what El told you to! I’ll call you both later!” She said. We waved goodbye and she walked out the restaurant doors.

“We should probably order now,” I laughed.

“Yeah, that would be a good idea!” She replied.

I ordered a Caesar salad, and El ordered some sort of sandwich.

“So, there was also something I wanted to tell you!” She said, after we were silent for a bit, eating our food that had come rather quickly.

I raised my eyebrow, awaiting the news.

“When Niall came in the lobby today, he gave me two tickets to their concert here coming up in a few weeks!” She said excitedly.

“That’s awesome! Who are you taking with you?” I questioned.

She rolled her eyes, “You, silly!”

“Oh…” My eyes widened a bit, “I don’t think that would be a good idea..”

She scoffed, “You’re coming with me, no if’s and’s or but’s! The tickets even include backstage passes, I’m so excited it’s crazy! It’ll be so fun! And you can work it out with your boyfriend while we’re there too!” She said with a wink.

“Fine, I’ll come.” I said quietly with a sigh, knowing she’d end up getting me to go either way.

I certainly wasn’t looking forward to that day.
