4. The Day Out

**Laura’s POV**

I woke up to the sun peeking through my curtains. Another day in paradise, NOT. I was off from work today so I thought I would invite my only friend in the world for a day out. I grabbed my phone and dialed Leila’s number, she picked up after the second ring.

“Hey Hey Laur Laur,” she answered giddily.

“Hey Hey Lei Lei,” I said mocking her tone.

“Anyways, what’s up,” she questioned.

“Oh right, wanna go for a girls day out?”

“Ya know it girl” Leila shouted at me.

“Ok meet at the usual café at 11, for some brunch”

“Perfect see you then”

“K bye” I said and hung up the phone.

I took a shower, straightened my hair, and went to change. I picked out a loose flowing top, with white jeans, and white and red converse.

I hopped in my lilac mustang and drove off to our special café. I had been driving for about 15 minutes before I reached my destination. I got out of my car only to be greeted by a very excited Leila.

“YAY finally you’re here!” she screeched.

“Yes here I am” I joked “C’mon I’m hungry” I called to her already walking in.

We walked in and I immediately saw the one person I wish I never had to see again. I kept my head hung low and walked to a booth in a very secluded corner.

“What was that all about,” Leila asked once we sat down.

“Oh Nothing, I just saw an ex-boyfriend,” I lied.

“Are you sure,” Leila pressed.

“Yes, I’m positive,” I replied through gritted teeth. I felt bad for not telling Leila the truth, although I still haven’t been able to trust anyone, since him.

“Ok sorry, “she replied cautiously.

“It’s alright” I said giving her a small smile.

The waiter walked over, took our orders, and left.

“So what are the plans for today,” I asked Leila cheerily trying to lighten the mood.

“Oh well we could go shopping and then-“ Leila was cut off by the waiter coming back.

“Here’s your food,” it wasn’t until then I looked up to meet his eyes. Anger and fear filled my eyes, the minute I saw him.

“Thank you” I mumbled, hoping he would leave already.

Eventually he walked away and left Leila to finish what she was saying before being rudely interrupted.

“Like I was saying we would go shopping then have a movie marathon!” she cheered.

“Are we going to that new mall?” I asked curiously.

“Yes they say celebs shop there!” she yelled.

We left money and a tip and walked out of the restaurant.

“Is it cool if we dropped my car back at my house then go shopping?” I asked Leila politely.

“Sure, no problem,” she said back.

“Perfect, thanks!” I shouted to her getting in my car.

As I was driving I noticed his car following me.  Right behind him was Leila. I decided to drive to Leila’s and leave my car there. Once we got to Leila’s house I noticed his car drive down the block. I jumped out of my car into hers and we headed to the mall. One Direction came on and we both started screaming out the lyrics.

Maybe it's the way she walked (wow) straight into my heart and stole it.
Through the doors and past the guards (wow), just like she already owned it.

I said, "Can you give it back to me?" She said, "Never in your wildest dreams."

And we danced all night to the best song ever.
We knew every line. Now I can't remember
How it goes but I know that I won't forget her
'Cause we danced all night to the best song ever.

I think it went oh, oh, oh
I think it went yeah, yeah, yeah
I think it goes oh

Said her name was Georgia Rose (wow), and her daddy was a dentist.
Said I had a dirty mouth (I got a dirty mouth) but she kissed me like she meant it.

I said, "Can I take you home with me?" She said, "Never in your wildest dreams."

And we danced all night to the best song ever.
We knew every line. Now I can't remember
How it goes but I know that I won't forget her
'Cause we danced all night to the best song ever.

I think it went oh, oh, oh
I think it went yeah, yeah, yeah
I think it goes oh

You know, I know, you know I'll remember you,
And I know, you know, I know you'll remember me,
[in background:]
(oh, oh, oh
yeah, yeah, yeah)
And you know, I know, you know I'll remember you,
And I know, you know, I hope you'll remember how we danced, how we danced

1, 2, 1, 2, 3

How we danced all night to the best song ever.
We knew every line. Now I can't remember
How it goes but I know that I won't forget her
'Cause we danced all night to the best song ever.
(We danced, we danced, it goes something like, yeah)

We danced all night to the best song ever.
We knew every line. Now I can't remember
How it goes but I know that I won't forget her
'Cause we danced all night to the best song ever.

I think it went oh, oh, oh
I think it went yeah, yeah, yeah
I think it goes oh

Best song ever,
it was the best song ever.
It was the best song ever,
it was the best song ever.

“That really is the best song ever,” we said at the same time while laughing as we had gotten so many funny looks.

I had finally forgotten about him until the car came up beside us and rolled down its window. I jumped in the back seat and lied down, not wanting to see him. Leila gave me a funny look but I just looked away. Once I thought he was gone I got in the front seat only to be met by a really confused Leila and across in the lane next to her, was the one man I wished I never had to face again.

“Sorry I saw a run over cat and it reminded me of one I had while my mom was still around,” I began to lie right through my teeth although she didn’t seem to notice.

“OK,” she said “Look there’s the mall!”

“YAY!” I tried to look as excited as I could, knowing he was so close to me.

Once we were parked we both walked into the mall.

Leila wanted to go into a certain shop to look for celebrities so I just waited by the door for her to come back out.

I regretted  staying outside when he came over to me.

“Wow Laura, been far too long,” he growled.

“Just go, I never want to see you again,” I said flatly.

Of course he wouldn’t take no for an answer grabbing me by the wrist and dragging me to an alley. When I tried to scream for help he slapped me across the face, snapping my head to the right. I grabbed my cheek, which now had a huge red mark. I slid down the wall, brought my knees to my chest, and started sobbing.

“Shut up you little bitch,” he yelled before kicking me in the gut. “You deserve to die, you’re the reason she left me.”

He kicked me in the stomach and punched me in the face a few times before everything went black. The last thing I heard were footsteps, before I let the darkness take over.
