4. Three.

I woke up the next morning with a pain in my back.

"Morning Lyd, Harry's here for yo... Woah. Are you okay?" Calum walked up to me and brushed his fingers over my left eye. I flinched and nodded.

"Awesome." I responded.

"Are you sure? You have a huge bruise on your eye."

"I know." I said, walking towards the closet to pick an outfit. "Just tell him that i'll be down in a bit."

He nodded and left the room. I walked towards the restroom and looked at the reflection, I covered it as much as I possibly could but it was useless. I walked towards my closet and threw on a dress which was white and blue with a bow at the waist, a pair of beige flats, and a pair of earrings. I quickly curled my hair and then ran my fingers through it to create curls, and put on some light make-up.. I took my Ray-Bans Clubmaster sunglasses and put them on, taking my beige bag with me. I walked down stairs and smiled when I saw Harry waiting for me.

"Hello." I smiled.

"Hi love," he grinned, "you look beautiful."

"Thank you." I smiled.

"Shall we go?" he said, opening the door for me.

"We shall." I smiled and turned towards Ashton, who was looking at me with bright eyes, "Bye Ash."

He parted his lips as if he were to answer but instead he closed them and gave me a harsh glare. I sighed and looked up at Harry who gave me a small smile. I smiled back and walked out to his car.

"Where do you want to go love?" he asked as he pulled out of the driveway.

"I've been in the mood for a hot cocoa from this little cafe near my home." I spoke softly. He nodded.

"Lead the way darling." he smiled. We drove for about 30 minutes until we finally found it. We walked in and one of the workers named Alice immediately recognized me. She waved at me with a smile but then turned into a sad frown once I took off my sunglasses. I shook it off and smiled.

"I'll be right with you Lydia." she said so I could hear. I nodded and found a tabled with two chairs.

"Wow, someones popular." Harry laughed. I shook my head and looked at the floor, not wanting him to see my eye. I sat across from him, my head was still down.

"Not really, I just always came here when I didn't want to be home. I did my homework and studied here. Heck, I actually started taking orders when they were short on staff. I got paid." I grinned at my lap, still not being able to look at him.

"Sounds like fun." I knew he was smiling, taking my hands in his. "Lydia, why won't you look at me?" he frowned. I finally looked up. His eyes went wide and his grip on my hands tightened.

"Ashton. Did Ashton do this to you?" I nodded and felt tears threatening to spill at any time. I bit the inside of my cheek so they wouldn't."I'm going to kill him." I was about to respond when we were interrupted by Alice, a smile still on her face.

"Hi," she said, fixing some of her red hair into a bun, "Sorry for the wait we've been a bit busy today, considering Jason quit. Anyways, what can I get you and your boyfriend Lyd?" I was about to tell her that Harry wasn't my boyfriend when he spoke up.

"We'll both take a cup of your finest hot cocoa." he half smiled. She nodded.

"Anything to eat?" He shook his head. "That'll be right out." she smiled, giving him a confused look before walking away.

There was a silence as we waited for the drinks, Harry was playing with the sugar packages and I was looking at my lap. I looked over at Alice who was struggling to take all of the orders.

"You should take the job." he spoke up, giving me a warm smile.

"How did you know I was thinking about the job?" I looked over at him, returning the smile.

"It's obvious you liked working here," he took my hands in his once again, "and it would be good for you, you know, to get out of the house for a while during the day. Away from Ashton." he nodded. I sighed and looked at his face.

His face was full of concern. Something I hadn't seen since I first met Ashton, the way he looked concerned for me the first day we met. He saw how vulnerable I was and he took advantage of me. He had decided I was his, and o make it clear he had physically hurt me.

"Lydia, I need you to tell me how and why you crossed paths with Ashton." he said looking at me tentatively.

I looked down at the hot cocoa that was now sitting in front of me and remember that night. The night I ran away fro the person who hurt me physically, mentally and emotionally  all at the same time. I looked at Harry and felt tears falling down my cheeks. How could I possibly tell Harry that Ashton was hurting me just like my father did after my mother died. How?

"I need to know what gave him the right to hurt you, before I kill him."
