Rome was a normal girl who lived in a village, that was until she was cursed by a prophecy.

17. Epilogue

One Year Later

It took me a while to get used to being a normal werewolf, without having the vampire side. It also took me a while to get over my sister's death, but now I'm better. I still get sad about her death from time to time, but I don't dwell on it anymore.

It's been a year since I killed Devon and the curse was broken. My life is normal now, or as normal as it can be. I'm happy now, truly happy.

I have a true family now. I have my wonderful mate, Nathaniel and my friends. They're more of a family than I'd ever had. My mom is still out there somewhere.... At first I had wanted to find her, but now I've accepted that she's abandoned her two living daughters.

There's still questions that need answered, but I'm not sure if they ever will be and I have to accept that.

Luna has helped become a better alpha to both the clan and pack. She's been a big help and she's been my rock through all of this. Her and Shade have wasted no time and now she's three months pregnant.

Nathaniel and I do want kids just not right now. We're happy with how things are right now. He did propose to be a couple months ago though and I said yes.

I was brought out of my thoughts by a sharp rapping at the door. "Come in." I called out. The door opened to reveal and frantic looking Zeke. "What's wrong?" I asked, standing up. His eyes were wide.

"There's something evil outside. I can feel it." My eyes widened. What's going on? Why would there be something evil out there right now? It's almost midnight.

"Show me," I ordered. I ignored the way my heart was beating rapidly. I followed Zeke outside of the castle. The others were already there. They all looked to be ready to fight. I looked around, but didn't see anything. I could feel the evil Zeke was talking about though. It worried me.

The wind picked up in a furious gust. The wolves nearby started to howl. The only thing normal at the moment was the sky and the full moon. I walked forward to try and get a better look.

I heard a loud snap of what sounded like bones. I have to come up with a plan and fast.

"Ok...we need to be alert. Luna I want you to go back inside so you or your baby doesn't get hurt." I looked back at Luna, who nodded her head and walked back inside. I could tell she didn't want to, but protecting her child came first to her.

We heard footsteps, the leaves crunching under the person's weight. The silhouette walked into the clearing. I couldn't make out who it was. He or she didn't look familiar.

"Hello daughter," the voice spoke. My heart dropped to my stomach and I paled. No, it can't be. I killed him! I'm sure of it. I know I did. Nathaniel came up behind me and wrapped his arms around me protectively. "You actually thought you could kill me!" He let out an animalistic laugh. "Oh, Rome this is far from over."

My heart wouldn't stop beating and I started to feel light headed. I'm going to pass out; I'm sure of it. Breathe. Rome. Breathe. I told myself.

"I killed you." Was what finally came out of my mouth. Devon laughed.

"Yes, but now I'm back. And as long as I'm alive you and Luna will be cursed."

"Damn you!" I shouted. I had finally accepted everything. I was finally moving on with my life and now he's back.

Now I must kill him again and make sure he'll stay dead.

This was far from over.
