Rome was a normal girl who lived in a village, that was until she was cursed by a prophecy.

2. Chapter Two

"Where are you going?" Nathaniel asked me. I shrugged my shoulders.

"I'm just walking around. I've been thinking a lot lately." Nathaniel had been my best friend since I first turned into a vampire/werewolf. He's a werewolf, which I don't mind, beings how I am one too.

"What have you been thinking about?" He asked. The only time I let the real Rome take control was when we were talking to Nathaniel. Once Nathaniel and I were done talking I'd take over again.

"Not much. I can't stand, Zaphara." I said. He raised his eyebrows.

"Is that why you're out here?" I nodded my head. It has been two years and she's still bitter towards me. I've tried to be nice, but no matter how hard I try she's still mean. She is in love with Shade. For some strange reason she thinks I like him. Ha as if!

"I should probably go back inside." I said to Nathaniel.

"Okay, well it was nice talking to you." He said. I nodded my head. I took back over Rome's body. I walked inside of the huge castle. We had to live in one because there are just too many of us. We also have to share the castle with the werewolves. For some reason we get along. I don't mind beings how I'm a vampire and a werewolf. Although I must say that I'm probably more vampire than werewolf. The werewolf side of Rome is nice and sweet, much like her human self.

I heard shouting. It was coming from the living room. I smirked. Zaphara and Shade are fighting....again. I shook my head.

"What's this about?" I asked, annoyed. As the head of both the clan and the pack I need to also keep the peace, even if I would love to see them fight. Zaphara glared at me.

"It's none of your business." She said, bitterness oozing out of her voice. I shook my head.

"That was the wrong thing to say, Zaphara." I walked closer to them. "I am the head of both the clan and the pack, so it is 'my business'." I said. "Now tell me what this is about." I said coldly. I was starting to lose my patience. You don't want to see me angry.

"I was...." She trailed off. I raised my eyebrows, waiting. "I was complaining about you to-to Shade." She stuttered. I sighed.

"What were you saying, Shade?" I asked, turning my attention to him.

"I was defending you." He said. I shook my head. How many time do I have to tell him to stop defending me? He just never listens! I am capable of handling these things by myself.

"You don't have to defend me, Shade." Rome said- the real Rome. Oh, no I let her out! She put her hand on his arm. He relaxed under my touch. His red eyes sparkled while looking into my black ones. My eyes haven't changed yet. I know it has been two years, but I haven't picked a side yet. I don't know which side to choose.

"You're so pathetic, Rome." My eyes flicked to her. My real self was slipping away. I soon had her pushed up against the wall. My black eyes were filled with a blazing fire.

"Do you want me to kill you?" I asked her. She shook her head frantically.

"P-Please d-don't." She stuttered. I smirked. I released my grip on her. She quickly ran out of the room. I sat down on the black couch. Shade sat down next to me.

"You are really scary." Shade said. I smiled.

"Thanks?" I said. How does he keep brining the real me out.

"I meant it as a compliment." He clarified, noticing my confusion. I smiled. His face suddenly became serious. "Have you figured out what side you're on yet?" I shook my head. There are sides in our world. There's the evil and good vampire side, and the evil and good werewolf side. I know that whatever side I choose will be the good side. I just have to figure out if I'm more vampire or werewolf and then go from there.

"Was it this hard for you?" Shade shook his head. Why is it so hard for me to pick? All I have to do is pick. Which one am I more like? The thing is I'm equally both.

"It's only hard because you have the Luna Lamia taking over your body most of the time. If she wasn't there then you wouldn't have a problem picking." He explained. It made sense. "Honestly I think you would pick the werewolves if she wasn't there."

"You're probably right." I sighed. Shade and I locked eyes. We inched closer to each other. Our lips brushed causing my heart to speed up. We were about to kiss when the door burst open. We quickly snapped out of our trance and moved as far away from each other as possible.

Adrian was the one that walked into the dark room. The room was lit by a candled chandelier. We didn't need the light much.

"Did I interrupt something?" He asked.

"No, you didn't." I said coldly. I got up and left the room. Luna took over my body again. Most vampires are evil, but I'm ten times worse than any of them.

I need to hunt. I haven't eaten in two days. My throat was starting to burn. I threw on my black cloak. I put up the hood and jumped out of the window. I landed gracefully on my feet. I started off into a run. I was a fast runner. I ran into a village.

Most of the houses were nice. I saw a women tending to her garden. I was quick and sneaky. Nobody heard me and nobody knew I was here. That's how it should be. Her blood smelled sweet. I pushed her up against the brick house. Luckily there were no windows around. My eyes grew darker, if that was even possible. I saw her frightened expression and smirked. I brought my fangs to her neck.

My fangs broke through the skin until I could taste the sweet blood. Once I was done she fell to the ground lifeless. Who tends to their garden at night anyway? I thought as I ran back to the castle.
