1. Help Me

She took a deep breath. First day of school. New school, new teachers, new classmates. 'You can do this.' she told herself. She walked inside of the doors, looking around the hallways. So many people. Teachers, staff, and students, all stampeding around one hallway. A few kids kept bumping into her and giving her dirty looks. She ignored it, of course, that being her instinct when people judge her.

She looked around for her best friend. He said he would be there for her. As she found him, she smiled widely and waved at him. He was talking to a group of people and when he heard her shout out his name, he turned to her, scoffed, and looked at the kids again laughing. Laughing.

Hurt hit her hard in her chest; like someone gave her a nice punch right there. He promised. 'He lied to me.' she said to herself before quickly running to the bathroom. She heard them laughing at her as she walked, making her hug her books tighter self-consiously. As she walked into the bathroom, there were girls in there, possibly doing their make-up.

They glanced at her and laughed. "Ew," one of them said out loud, clearly wanting her to hear. "Is that even a human? Look at it," another scoffed. They all laughed obnoxiously. She quickly ran out of the bathroom. 'I can't do this.' she thought as she began running back to the school's entrance. Tears were stinging her eyes but she tried her best not to let them free.

"Uff," she grunted as she collided with someone, making her knock her books out of her hands. She groaned softly and bent down, grabbing her stuff.

"You alright?" a boy with a slightly high-pitched, surprisingly British voice. She looked up to see him bent over, grabbing one of her books.

"U-Uh, yeah," she said, quickly wiping her tears and grabbing the book from him. Just then, the bell rang. 'Fuck.' she thought. Now she has to suffer through class. "Thanks," she said quietly.

"Wait," he said, grabbing her arm and pulling her towards him. "What's wrong, love?"

She looked him in the eyes and saw the concern in them. 'Why does he care so much?' she thought. "Nothing," she lied.

She tried to walk away but he still had a tight grip on her arm. She groaned softly and looked up at him. "Tell me what's wrong," he whispered. "Please?"

The hallway was empty by now. They could get in trouble if they don't get into their class, but they were too into their conversation. "I don't want to say at the moment," she explained, tears filling her eyes again.

"C'mere," he whispered, opening his arms. "I know you don't know me but you seem to need a hug."

She got closer to him and hugged him tightly. He quickly hugged back just as tight, sighing.

"I'm Louis, by the way."

"Jasamine."

-

It's been a while since she's seen Louis around. She felt kind of safe when he was around but when he wasn't, she felt very self-concious and scared that kids will hurt her physically or mentally. It was lunch time. Great.

She bought her lunch today. Turkey sandwich and some chips. The lunch-lady looked quite upset this morning so she was basically rude. Jasamine looked around for a seat and frowned when she found that she could sit maybe no where since no one will except her. All of a sudden, she saw someone waving their hand toward her direction. She looked behind her, just incase if there was someone else there. No one. She looked at the person and noticed it was Louis. Her lips curved into a smile and she walked over to him.

"Hey, Jas," he said, smiling at her.

'A nickname. Already?' she thought. "Hi," she said shyly. She slowly unwrapped her sandwich and took a small bite.

"Are you feeling okay?" he asked her, getting concerned since he saw her crying in the hallway. He's been worried about her all day. She was all he could think about.

"Yeah, I guess," she lied, faking a smile.

He made her look at him and looked in her eyes. "No, you're not," he mumbled. "Please tell me what's wrong. I'm worried."

"It's noth-"

"What's that?" he said in a shaky voice, looking down at her wrist which was now showing because her sleeve rode up.

She quickly covered it up and her face got red. "N-Nothing."

He looked at her. "Are you cutting yourself?"

'Fuck.' she thought. She felt tears fill her eyes. She finds a new friend and they already find out she cuts herself. "Y-Yes," she said, being honest for once.

He made her look at him and sighed. "It's okay. I don't hate you or anything. Just, please try to stop," he mumbled. "I know you don't know me and that it's hard but please. Try for me. I care about you."

She finally let a few tears fall down but he wiped them away. "Okay," she whimpered.

"Thank you."

-

She sat on her bed, tears streaming down her face. Her razor was next to her. Her arm had new cuts. She felt ashamed of herself because she promised Louis, the only one that cared about her, and she did it anyways. She couldn't help it, though. The pain hurt too much.

Ring ring.

Her phone. She grabbed her phone with her clean arm and checked who it was. Louis. She hit accept and put it up to her ear. "H-Hello?" she said in a shaky voice.

"Jas? Are you crying?" he asked her, getting concerned again.

"Maybe," she said, laughing coldly afterwards.

"What's wrong? Tell me now," he said softly.

She then bursted into tears. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I couldn't help myself. I was in too much pain. Please don't get mad at me," she said quickly, sobbing in between sentences.

"I'm not mad," he said. "Can I come over maybe? I'll comfort you."

"O-Okay."

-

She gave Louis her address and he came over only 15 minutes after the phone call. Her mom let him in and he quickly ran up to her room. He saw her on her bed, wrapping up the new cuts. He sighed and sat next to her, wrapping his arms around her tiny waist.

"Hi," he whispered.

She stopped wrapping and looked up at him. "Hey," she whispered back.

"Remember this, alright? I care about you. Even if I just met you today, I care. You seem broken and I want to fix you. I've been there. I used to cut. I know how it feels. Just, try to stop. I'll help you."

She let a few tears slide down her cheek and he quickly wiped it off. She hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek. "Thank you so much."

(Should I make this a fanfiction or make this the ending?)
