A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

62. Welcome's Speech

I looked around, trying to find her between all the heads of the crowds. She had to be somewhere! Probably with Alex and Max and Lara, but I couldn't find them either. I heard a shout of my name, and as I turned to its source, I finally found her.

She was looking at me like a person would look at a fairy, surprised, but with eyes filled with delight. At last I found her. It's been such a long time. I realized now how much I've missed her. I continued my walking, doing my best not to run to her, to hug her tightly, to hold her in my arms like before. I missed it. I missed everything about her. Her scent, her eyes, her voice, her words.

I followed the others, we had to stand by professor Dumbledore, waiting for our teachers to shake his hand and then we could later go and sit with the Hogwarts students. I watched Clara with glee, "I'll be right with you." I wanted to tell her. I could tell she was quite pleased by this surprise. How could I let Jasmine kiss me? Whatever we had was nothing, nothing in comparison to my love for Clara. Clara's everything, she fills every small space in my heart. How had I been so blind? I looked again at professor Dumbledore and found him shaking Mr. Black's hands and saying, "Welcome, welcome." I took it as a sign, and clearly so did Clara. I ran for her, and she ran for me too, like a racer would run to the finish line. I've never realized how fast she could be, and she was finally in my arms, I swung her around, then hugged her tightly and kissed her cheek.

"Oh God, it's you. It's really you!" She said.

"I missed you like hell!" I said. "I can't believe I'm finally here with you."

"You liar you said you weren't coming, you got me depressed, you idiot!" She started tearing, tears of joy. That's the best part about tears, when they get combined by a smile. Strange and yet beautiful combination.

"Shh, don't cry." I said wiping her tears with the tips of my fingers. And she smiled widely. I notice that we had an audience. Many people were watching us, so as Clara and I looked around, we laughed, and then she led me to sit next to her. It took everyone a moment to sit down, so I couldn't really talk to Max and Lara, I wanted to ask them about where Alex was, but professor Dumbledore cleared his throat and spoke again, silencing everyone in the Hall.

"Welcome, welcome, to all of our guests. It's such a pleasure for us that the TriWizard tournament will take place at Hogwarts this year. For those of you who don't know what the TwiWrizard tournament is; well, since 1290, it's been a competetion between the three largest European schools of wizardry; Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. A champion was selected to represent each school, and three champions competed in three magical tasks. The schools took it in turns to host the Tournament once every five years, it's a very special way of making bonds between young witches and wizards of different nationalities. Our school was supposed to host the Triwizard tournament last year. However, we were hosting some other guests, who some of them may be here with us. Therefore, the tournament was delayed for this year. The challenges are quite dangerous, but they're not deadly, hopefully. Of course it's not a promise, but it nearly is, for you, our students, are the most precious thing Hogwarts and we, as teachers have.

"There has been a couple of changes for this year. We received and owl from Beauxbatons apologizing for us, saying that they can't be a part of the year's tournament, which gave us an idea; why not host an elite of the Cambridge Highschool students. Of course, it wasn't an easy idea to suggest, at first, since these students are muggles, and the whole tournament is made for wizards, but -  our ministry of magic, the Depertments of International Magical Cooperation and Magical Games and Sports and the International Confederation of Wizards have all agreed that it would be totally fine for the muggles to take part in it. This year's challenges, have been selected carefully to fit with not only wizards' skills, but muggles' as well. Intelligence and courage will be required for the challenges, and it is highly unlikely that students below fifth and sixth year will be able to cope with them.

"The selection of the three champions will next Saturday. A just judge will decide which students are most worthy to compete for the TriWizard Cup, the glory of their school and a thousand Galleons personal prize money. I'll have to say this clearly one more time, if you don't think you'd be qualified for the tasks, please, don't put your name in the goblet of fire, which means, joining the tournament. Whoever wishes to participate in the tournament shall put his or her name in the goblet of fire today. You'll have all evening in addition the following four days. As for now, enjoy your feast with your friends and guests." With a flicker of his wand, the Hall was filled by Hogwarts's delicious food that I missed, just like it did in my last visit. I turned to the girls now,

"Where is Alex?" I asked.

"She's in the hospital wing - nothing major, no need to get worried, but she's just a bit tired." Max answered.

"Oh." I said. I really wanted to see Alex today, I'd probably go to see her after the feast or something, but now I wanted to go to see the marauders. "I'm going to see the marauders, would you like to come?" I asked Clara.

"Sure." And she came with me, to the Gryffindor's table. Their enthusiasm was amazing, I missed these lads.

"LIONHEART!" James called.

"I thought you'd never come, after you met Clara again." Sirius joked.

"Yeah, I've forgotten about you, just like I always do." I said mocking. I hugged them tightly, saying how much I've missed them. They hugged me back, saying they missed me too.

"The marauders've finally reunited." Moony said.
