Alex
My timetable for today's been full. Potions, Ancient Runes, Herbology, Flying and we had a Quidditch training. It wasn't much of a train as it was a meeting for the teammates. We're seven; Jordan, Jacob, Rachel, Edward, Zoe, Max and I. Jordan's our captain. He doesn't seem too bossy, I was worried he'd be so, but he's not, thankfully.
The muggles studies' class was a bit boring, I don't know why I even take this class since I know everything about muggles and everything. And besides, being in the same class as professor Quirrell makes him quite nervous. Well, either that, or he's nervous all the time, which is weird, I guess.
There was a disagreement in the muggles studies class, professor Quirrell was talking about the miserable lives of the muggles and how they can't really use magic, blah, blah. But then he started talking about candles, he talked about the ways muggles use to turn candles on, and he never mentioned anything about electricity, which kinda confused me - so we had an argument;
"Umm, professor, I admit that all you said was right, but I have to add something. Muggles don't mostly use candles unless there's a birthday party or there's no electricity in the place."
"W-what e-electricity?"
"You know, like, light bulbs and everything." It seemed like he didn't really know anything about electricity.
"M-muggles use candles as much as we do, C-Cross. I think I Kn-now what I'm talking about."
"Sure, professor, but - I don't want to be rude, but that isn't really true." I said weakly.
"And I th-think you should go t-tell p-professor Dumbledore about i-it."
He sent me to professor Dumbledore's office? Why didn't he just take some points from my house or anything. It seemed like professor Quirrell didn't like me at all. Not only I made him nervous, but he really hated my presence. Everyone was looking at me, so calmly, I stood up and went to professor Dumbledore's office. I don't really mind it, I want to tell him that professor Quirrell isn't the best muggles studies teacher in the world. Maybe he's studied muggles, but I've lived with them - blimey, I still am one of them.
I walked with my books in my hands, followed by the stares of everyone in the classroom. I closed the door behind me, with a smile on my face.
"Phoenixeen." I said as I reached the entrance of professor Dumbledore's office. I walked up the stairs and knocked the office's doors until I was asked to enter.
"Ahh, Cross." Professor Dumbledore said.
"H-hello, professor."
"What brings you here Alex?"
"Actually professor, I was asked to come here - more like ordered."
"Ha? But why?"
"Well, professor, professor Quirrell doesn't really get the muggles completely. I mean, seriously sometimes he's alright, but other times .. I swear I can teach better than him." I noticed that my way of talking wasn't suitable, professor Dumbledore deserves nothing but respect. "Sorry sir, I'm just-"
"Don't be. I get what you're facing, Alex, and I'm happy to know that you want your classmates to learn what is true-" He was interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in."
"P-professor Dumbledore sir, this girl over here, sh-she wants to teach me how to d-do my own j-job! In front of my class mates!" Professor Quirrell came in almost shouting.
"But-"
"Professor Quirrell. As you know, Alex here is half a muggle, she's lived with muggles and is herself half a one. I think it'd be nothing but wise to listen to her words and what she says about the information said in the class. However, I also think there's a proper way for you, Alex to tell him about it." Professor Quirrell looked happy by that.
"Sure sir." I said.
"Now if you don't mind professor Quirrell-"
"Oh, yes I was j-just leaving a-anyway."
After we heard the door closing, professor Dumbledore spoke again;
"Do I have to go too or-?"
"No, you can stay here. You see, you've got me to start thinking.. since you said you can teach muggles studies better than professor Qruirrell I think you should do it."
"What?!" I said. "Professor-"
"Both classes will be available, and whoever wishes to join your class will be welcomed. Would you want to do it?"
"Umm, but professor I don't really have time."
"You will pass muggles studies and teach it instead."
"Wow. Alright, I'll do it. Thank you sir." Professor Dumbledore nodded and I decided to take it as a sign to leave.
