A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

In the hospital wing, someone took a deep, loud breath.

She coughed next, and I looked at her, not believing my eyes. Crying so hard, and calling for her name, crying for the others to come. I almost forgot they were all here, all sitting by her side, because that's what we decided to do, we decided to spend our time together here, with her, by her side to keep her company, to let her know we're there and we always be. Madam Pomfrey usually asks us to leave when we make noise, but we rarely do.

I know that now, she won't even blame us.

Alex is alive and that's all that matters!

"Ally!" I think all of us say. We're all crying. She opened her eyes slowly, and smiled so weakly, but it was there, her smile, not leaving her lips as she saw us all there.

"God." She first said. "I'm tired."

"Try to rest without closing your eyes, can you do this, love?" Sirius said, brushing her hair with his hand. "Don't sleep just yet." I think she nodded, or tried to.

"I love you guys." Her voice was barely audible, but I could make this out, when she spoke, we all listened intently.

"We love you too." Kyle said.

The next day, Alex got way better, she managed to laugh, but then again, I think even the dead can laugh with the Marauders' company.

When mom came, she was all in tears. She hugged me, and made sure she won't hurt me by doing this, I cried too. I couldn't believe I was alive. It took so much effort, it was too hard, too exhausting. I think the potions and whatever they've been trying to do to help me wake up made a great help too. I don't talk much, it sometimes gets painful, but I try to. Since I woke up, I've been in this bed for three days, but I can't stand it anymore. I know I've been here for longer and I really can't stand it, I just want to get out and continue having my one year at Hogwarts. Madam Pomfrey said I can go tomorrow. I am tired, but I can fight it. I can walk, I've been trying to and it's going okay.

I'm getting better, everyone says. I even look better is what they say, I can't imagine how I would look after crashing into the ground.

Sirius saved my life. I knew some spell slowed me down, and when I asked, they told me Sirius jumped after me, a before I hit the woomping willow, my falling speed decreased, but then I hit the woomping willow and then everything turned black.

I don't even want to remember how bad it was.

Since the day we went to Katy, Max and I have been discussing whether to tell the others about Voldemort or not. Maybe its just a lie, Katy lies for sure, so this must be one of her lies. But then again, it might not be a lie, it might be the truth for a change.

At least, we know that Katy has strong support, Voldemort or not we're not sure. I don't think anyone would want to kill a friend of theirs if it wasn't for Voldemort, or at least someone evil. Alex nearly died, so she's serious about killing us.

Finally we decided to tell the others, making sure they won't tell any other human living.

"Oh my God." Clara said.

"I think - I think it's the truth." James said.

"I think we should all be threatened." Remus said.

"I don't fear them, though." Sirius said. "Neither should any of you."

"I did almost die, though." Alex said. "When we're in the tournament tasks, anything can happen without anyone knowing or doing anything about it."

"We can't tell Dumbledore, you guys." I said.

"Yes, we can't tell anyone." Max agreed.

We were silent for a while, then we started discussing whether Alex and I should go to the next task, of course we can't help it, we should take part of it. It's not really our choice. One more task. We will be cautious.
