A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

48. The Worst

I went out crying.

"How many rooms are there left?" I asked Mrs Holly.

"S-six. But you've been doing so good!"

"I can't do it. Who knows what's waiting for me in the next rooms, it's just too hard."

"It's hard but you should be harder than it, stronger. Remember you're doing this so that you'll go to Hogwarts and you're doing it for Alex." I couldn't help it but laugh.

"For Alex? Yeah, that's definitely what it is. I'll just fight my fears, for Alex. Cause she deserves it, thanks for the reminder." I looked around. I had no idea where Kyle was. And as the bell rang, I went into room number 3, which was full of dark magic. It was too awful to explain, and I was too weak there. Then I got into room 10, I was supposed to get in 6 before 10, but because someone was already there I had to wait to the next bell ring. Room 10 can also be called the needles room, it was a nightmare. Room 18 was the thunder's room. I just sat there while lightning and thunder filled the place and I was expected to be so tough. But rooms 6, 14 and 22 were the worst.

As I entered room number 6, I found it full of mirrors. When I looked at myself in the mirror I found myself ugly, beyond measure. I had scars all over my body, most of them were open and full of dried, black blood. My eyes were puffed like a puffer fish and my teeth were broken and not only yellow but also brown. Most of my head was bald but the hair I had was white and damaged. Not like a year-without-care-or-treatment damage, but like it got burned and torn. My face too, was bloody. I couldn't recognize myself. I couldn't stop my hysterical screams there.

The first thing I asked for after leaving room 6 was a mirror, an actual small mirror.

The room had people in it. Not only people, but also masks all around the room. The people in the room were all wearing masks. Some were just wearing eye masks, some mouth masks and some full-face masks. Masks terrified me, especially when worn by people. The people who wore the mouth masks reminded me of the needles' room, and the people who covered their whole faces were the worst.

The masks were smiling, mostly and that's what got them to be more frighting, more creepy. They kept on staring at me, while their heads tilted in a way. Some just moved around the room, watching me all the time.

I guess it's the mysteriousness behind the mask that scares me. You can't really trust anyone with a mask, cause you can't see what they're hiding, and it's scary, in a way.

It got me shuddering. I sat on the floor, and put my hands around my legs, my knees to my chest. I started moving my back and head, back and forth, singing some songs my mother used to sing when I was young. I tried to ignore them, it was the only thing I could do. I couldn't be more relieved to hear a bell.

In room number 14, I was stuck in a room with six psycho's. It was one of the worst things I've ever experienced in my life.

The staring. The strange smile. Everything in that room.

Not only did I scream and sweat. I screamed, and ran, and shuddered and vomited and cried. Yeah, I did many things while being in and after leaving that room.

As I got into room 22, I faced my worst fears.

It was a person, a wizard precisely. His complexion as white as a paper, his head bald and his eyes as red as blood. The darkest wizard of all times. Lord Voldemort.

After my five minutes of resting, because I fainted in the previous room I was led to another room.

The room was really better than the others, as I got in. There were no scorpions or snakes, it was a clear room. Then came a girl with red hair, I knew her, I didn't only know her, she was my girlfriend, my love. Ruby.

"Ruby what're you doing here?" I said relieved, but confused to see her here. Ruby couldn't pass the tests, she can't go to Hogwarts.

"Ethan." She whispered. Suddenly her eyes widened and she looked in pain. She staring screaming and falling to the ground.

"RUBY What's wrong?!" I asked. All she did was screaming. I could tell she was hurting, I couldn't tell why. Blood started coming out of her mouth and I found a knife in her stomach. She called my name too loud and told me to help her. I was too confused.

"RUBY STAY WITH ME!" I shouted. I shouted for them to open the door, to let me out. I said that I had an injured person with me, that she was dying. That this was an emergency.

They didn't open the door.

They never believed med.

I started crying, and hitting my head with the wall. My worst fears's come true. Ruby was dead.
