A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

101. The Triwizard Champion

I stared at the huge, huge beast that stood in front of me, shocked by its size. It looks like a leopard but it's larger than an elephant. How can I fight this now?

The worst part is that it didn't even take it a second to notice me.

I did the first thing I could think of. I ran underneath it towards its back legs and I hit it with my wand. It groaned, but didn't seem to be more than irritated. I hit its other back leg and it did something unexpected for me. It sat down. I was almost smashed by this, but I ran just in time. Now I was close to its face so I had to move extremely fast. I had a plan in mind that I wished would work. I passed its head fast and I went one of the big trees and started climbing it, at first the huge leopard lost me, then when I reached the top, I started shouting to get its attention. This was suicidal, but it was the only plan I had.

The leopard came to me, glad to finally find me. It roared and opened its big mouth, trying to eat me and the tree. Its mouth was this big. I took my chance and hit the top of the inside of its mouth with my wand and it groaned, its voice was so loud especially when I'm inside its mouth that I wished I could just shut my ears. Next stupid thing I did was that I jumped. off of its mouth, off of the tree, I just jumped to the ground.

I'm pretty sure I broke my arm, I screamed loudly, hearing the sound of the bone breaking. I looked upwards and found the leopard passing out. I forced myself to stand up and run away from its way, better not be crunched by its huge, heavy body.

A loud voice filled the forest as it landed on the ground. I just stood there for a second, trying to breathe properly.

I decided to keep moving, but as I did, I found two things:

Another gigantic leopard and the Triwizard's cup.

I tried many different spells on this stupid horrifying Nundu and none of them are working! I just want to get away from it, or actually, I want it to get away from me. I can't fight this huge beast. I don't even know how to.

"UGH!" I shouted finally. "WHAT SHOULD I DO TO KILL YOU?!" That made it angrier, and I immediately regretted saying it.

Then suddenly it groaned loudly, raising its front legs like a horse. Something had hit it from the back, it seemed.

"TRY TURNING IT INTO A STONE OR SOMETHING!" It was Kyle! He held something that looked like a wand in his hand and right after he said that, he hit the Nundo with it and it groaned once more.

"Duro!" I tried. And it was frozen in place, hardened as a rock. I exhaled with relief. Thank you God, for giving me a friend like Kyle.

"You're the best human being I have ever met." I said to Kyle, he laughed and then turned around. I turned to see what he was staring at and found that it was the cup. The Triwizard cup! We've made it! Both of us. Neither Katy nor Ragnor came before us, one of us should be the next triwizard champion.

"Go." I told him. "You found it first." I smiled. As much as it would've been great and amazing for me to win, it always would've been tremendous if Kyle won too. Now we can both win, but he deserves it.

"You take it." He said. I rolled my eyes.

"Don't play noble now. You deserve it. And besides, you basically saved my life with this freaking Nundo."

"So that's what it's called." Kyle said. We both laughed, as if we're not in the middle of the forbidden forest, competing in one of the most dangerous tasks in one of the most dangerous tournaments there ever was. At first, he didn't move, then I ran to him and pushed him all the way to the cup. "Easy." He said. "My arm's broken."

"Make sure you hold it with your other hand then." I hugged him next. "Congratulations, champion."

"Thanks Ally." And he took the cup.

I touched the cup and it took me to the middle of the Quidditch field.

Everyone was their as usual, but their cheering this time were louder than ever. Nearly all of them chanting my name. Proud of their new champion.

I was extremely happy and proud. I raised the cup high to show it to everyone and they went insane.

"With the best score of the four champions," Professor Dumbledore's voice said. "Kyle Alford wins the Triwizard tournament, and if from now on, the triwizard champion!"

"KYLE. KYLE." Everyone was chanting.

"In second place, depending on the three tasks score-" started professor Dumbledore. "Katy Martin!"

Everyone cheered again, not as loud as before though. Most of it was caused by the Slytherins.

Ragnor and Alex entered the Quidditch field and everyone cheered them as they did. Someone must've got them from the forest after I won.

"In third place.." Professor Dumbledore pauses dramatically. "Alex Cross!" This time the cheers were louder, I cheered too and clapped, but then the pain in my arm stopped me.

"And in fourth place, Ragnar ???"

The Marauder came out of nowhere, all hugging me.

"Guys, guys. My arm's broken." I said as they hugged me, James carried me on his shoulders and they all started cheering my name.

"KYLE THE CHAMPION, KYLE!" They cheered. Then came Clara, she was fighting her way out of the crowd.

"Here comes Clara." James said, letting go of me, I jumped to the ground and was greeted by her lips.

"I'm so proud of you." She whispered.
