A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

100. The Third Task

~Author's Note~

Oh my God! Chapter 100! xD

That's something, right?

I hope you guys all like the story cause it's still not finished yet =)

And also, sorry for not updating in a long time.

The separated us almost instantly, said they'll tell us about the rules later. This task will be in the forbidden forest, so I can only imagine how hard it will be.

I was now standing alone, the forbidden forest facing me.

"In this third task, you will face very dangerous creatures. They were classified as wizard killer or impossible to train or domesticate. Fight them to find your way to the cup. You'll find it in the forest. The first one to find it will be the first one to earn it. Good luck." Professor Dumbledore's voice filled the place, as if the whole place was filled with speakers.

Alright.. that's not hard at all.. these beasts are wizard killers. I will get out of this alive...

Who am I kidding?

A cannon fired. Our sign to start.

I decided I should stop being so paranoid and start the real work. I fought a Hippogriff after all, and I succeeded in it. I can do it again with all sorts of other creatures. I have this electric wand they gave me for the first task with me, so that's a bonus thing.

I took my first steps into the forbidden forest, and the action was immediate.

Some sort of creature with a lion's head, goat's body and a dragon's tail was waiting for me there. Looking at me like I'm its prey. And maybe I am. How will I fight this thing?

The creature ran to me, it was so fast, but I reacted fast. I ran deeper into the forest, trying to get away from it. that didn't work, though. The creature, was very fast even that it had a goat's body . It roared at me, and I swallowed hard.

Time to fight.

I held the electric wand high and challenged the beast, roaring back at it. This time it didn't attack me like a prey, but like an equal. I could feel its thirst for my blood by the way it circled around me, though. But at that time, I stopped caring. I want to kill this thing, or electrify it, or do whatever this wand can to defend me. Then I ran towards it, shouting with a roar. It stood on its legs and I was shocked by its huge size. I didn't move back, I held the wand strongly and pushed it into the beast's body. One of its legs hit me in the stomach, but then it started roaring with pain. Surrendering and falling to the ground. I stood for a minute to catch my breath, and as I gave the beast a last glance, I found something written on its back.

I looked more closely, trying to make the word out.

Don't fight the next Beast

I started running away from the creature with the lion's head. I cast the first spell I could think of on it and I don't know how long it'll last.

After seeing the next creature, I thought how blessed I was to have lion-head. I know this creature. It almost looks like a dementor, but not quite. A floating, thick, black cloak. At first it didn't notice me, then as it did, it started coming towards me. I froze in place, trying to remember what I read about it. I did read about it somewhere. It's called a - a - a Lethifold! I had no time to think, it was coming nearer by seconds, slithering its way to me. It's usually found at night and .. I tried to remember how it can be defeated, I had no time left. A few inches separated the Lethifold and me and before I could think of anything else I screamed. It didn't seem bothered by my scream, in fact I think it liked it. Then I remembered something.. It can be defeated by a Patronus charm. I had to act very fast, I put my happy thought in mind and shouted. "Expecto patronum!"

The Lethifold was thrown away, and I took it as my chance to run.

Next thing I saw was a Manticore. I swore instantly as I saw it. This isn't a friendly creature. Not at all. It has a man's head, a lion's body and a tail of a scorpion. One little sting of it causes immediate death. It started crooning softly, like it does when it devours its prey. I pointed my wand at the ground near it and shouted, "Deprimo!

The ground shattered and the beast fell into it, groaning. I passed it and went to see what else is facing me.

The shitty thing about this task is that I didn't know anything about it. Well, I did know that we'll be facing deadly beasts, but I didn't know what they'll be. I got rid of the first two beasts, but now as I faced this freaking Lethifold. I don't know what I should do!

I've never freaked out more than I did the minute it attacked me. The Lethifold landed on top of me, it started crooning softly. I kept on yelling, I couldn't do anything to stop it. One of its legs were on my arm, its claws digging into it. I couldn't cast any spell, my hand was useless. I saw its scorpion-like tail finding its way to my stomach. I screamed even harder, I screamed so hard that no voice came out. It's not just because the sting was extremely painful, but also because I knew that its poison's deadly. Which means I'll be dead in seconds.

I passed out.

I stood frozen once I saw the Quintaped facing me. This beast with its low-slung body that's covered with thick reddish hair and its five legs, each one ending in a clubfoot. The moment it opened its mouth every spell in my head was forgotten. I didn't know what to say and how to act. It's not a very big beast, but I know how strong it is. It even looks as deadly as it is.

Come up with something, Alex. Remember something.

Can I use the unforgivable curses in this task? I won't risk it, the ministry of Magic hates me already. I don't want to be expelled.

Finally, I shout, "Incarcerous!" And ropes wrap the Quintaped's legs together and it stops the ability of walking. I ran as fast as I could, only to find something worse than everything else I faced.

A Nundo.
