A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

54. The Slug Club

"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" I asked Lily. We were walking together in the castle. Her green eyes looked perfect with the sunlight, and I was playing with her red hair that I love in my fingers.

In fact, if I ever had a daughter with Lily, I'd want her to have red hair. But I'd prefer black hair for the boys.

"It's about Slughorn." She said sitting down.

"Slughorn? What about him? Did he do anything to upset you? Did-"

"No, calm down James." She giggled. "Honestly, you need to get a bit less defensive." I looked at her and smiled.

"Well, I guess It's just that I don't want you to feel bad."

"I know, and I love it, but it may be dangerous sometimes." She pulled me by my tie and kissed me on the lips. "So, back to Slughorn. He invited me to his club. You know, the Slug Club."

"Well, that's really good!" I said.

"Yeah but - I'm not going there alone." She looked kinda ashamed and pushed her hair back.

"Well then, who's going too?"

"Umm, Clara, Lara, Alex, Adrian, Lucius, Regulus..." She pause.

"And?" It took me a moment to get it. "Don't tell me Snape's going there too." She bit her lip. "Lily! You know how bad he is."

"I know James, I know how bad he is, and I know that I hate him. But I also know that he's given up, and that we're not friends or anything more now. Not for me and not for him. And besides, I'm not going there to see him-"

"Of course you're not. But.. I don't know. Will it be comfortable for you?" She sighed.

"I'm not sure. I don't even know if he's coming, I'm just assuming he will. Maybe I should try to go once or twice and see how things turn out." I nodded. "So you don't mind it?"

"Lily, why would I mind it. I'm just saying that because you hate the guy and you hate being in the same room with him - at least that's what I know." She nodded.

"So, what if he flirted with me, or like .. tempted me to get to like him - somehow." I didn't even notice how fast my temper rose. We don't really talk about Snape that much. We both know how much I hate that subject.

"Well then you'd tell me and I'll go kick his ass and-" I noticed Lily laughing.

"What, Potter? Are you jealous? Jealous of something that hasn't even happened?"

"You know how to get me mad, don't you?" She smiled, biting her lip, and I couldn't resist it but kiss her once more.

"I don't even care for Slughorn but I have to admit it, people always say good things about his club, so it must be fun." Max said. She was laying on her stomach on the bed. I was sitting on my bed, telling her about Slughorn and his club.

"So you'll go there after your Ancient Runes class? How sad."

"I know right?" I sighed. "I wish it wasn't at evening."

"Don't. It'd be cooler then. Slythering in Sughorn's Slytherin office. See what I did there?" She grinned hopefully.

"No. Don't. It was lame." I laughed as her expression changed to disappointment.

"You just don't get my sense of humor." We both laughed and then there was a pause.

"It feels weird, to go to a club with Clara, Lily and Lara but not with you. I wish you could come." I said. Even if it was something that may be, actually silly. I loved Max's company anywhere.

"Nah, we'll do some mischievous things with the marauders later when you're not busy. I've gotta spend some more time with you while you're at Hogwarts."

"Good evening Professor Slughron." I smiled as I entered his office, with both Clara and Lara by my sides. We didn't want to go separately, especially me.

"Oh good evening Cross and the two Patels." He nodded to them. We were not really the first to arrive, two people were there, two Slytherins, Severus Snape and Regulus Black.

Sirius's brother. and the guy Sirius and the other marauders hate. Great.

Not a very pleasant company, but I still have the twins.

After a while Lily, Lucius and another guy who I don't know came in.

"So, since you're all here." Professor Slughorn started. "Let's start talking about your families and where you come from."

I felt like the question was for me, since I'm the only American girl here, at least that's what I know.

"Lara?" He asked, and we turned to her.

"Well, my mother's in auror, and my father works at the ministry, and I think Clara's parents work with mine." Most of us laughed. Slughorn's laugh was the hardest.

"What about you, Cross?"

In another condition, I would've talked about my mother, because I didn't really get that question often, I used to get it more when my parents weren't divorced, when we used to go to many weddings and events together and meet some strangers. Somehow, I didn't really feel like talking about my father, I hated him. I hated what he did to mom. To us, and I didn't want him to get me all sad. I didn't have to explain anything.

"I only live with my mother, and she's a muggle, apparently, and she's a wedding planner."

"Interesting." Professor Slughron said.

"Yeah well, she cooks very well." I laughed and actually missed her food. The food here was absolutely amazing, sure, but I still missed hers.

"And do you have any siblings?"

"Nope. It's just me."

"Do you look more like your mother or father?" That was an easy question.

"My mother. The only two things I got from him are my nose and last name."

"And you'll keep them both. Forever." Someone whispered. I turned to face the speaker and noticed that Regulus was sitting next to me. Had he been here all the time or had he changed his seat?

"What d'you mean?" I asked. The others gave their attention to the guy who I now knew was called Adrian.

"You'll never be a Black, muggle."
