A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

39. The Lucky Fourteen

The little girl Kyle was talking to kissed him on the cheek and hugged him tightly as he said goodbye to her. I said goodbye to the kids I've been doing my best to befriends with, but their goodbyes weren't as warm as the girl Kyle met.

I walked to Kyle and we walked together out of the orphanage. Maybe Kyle got himself to forget that this was all part of the test, that we had to do this to go to Hogwarts, and that we had to succeed. I couldn't of course forget about that all. Going to Hogwarts isn't an option, it's a must for me. I have to go there. I have to go to the place Alex is in. Spending time with Kyle makes things even worse, he's so kind, and so sweet in a very beautiful way! It makes me feel guilty sometimes, but I try to ignore it all and think only of Hogwarts, and my aim.

"That was a pretty good job from almost everyone." Miss Holly said, as we sat in the bus's seats. Kyle, of course sat next to me, so I could hear Miss Holly as she went to talk to him.

"You know Kyle, that was such a good job of you. This girl you were talking to is the most lonely one there, she doesn't let anyone get near her. She's hot tempered and they think she's sick."

"She's not. She just needs a friend." Kyle said, a little too aggressive. I nudged him. "Sorry."

"Since when do you draw this brilliantly?" I asked as he turned to me.

"I'm not that good, really." I raised an eyebrow for him.

"Yeah right. That was just a coincidence then. The pencil started drawing by itself." Kyle laughed.

"I can draw you sometime if you want." Perfect. Perfect.

"I'd love to."

"You know what Charlotte -the girl- said about you?"

"She said that you're pretty. Is that why you don't have any guy friends?"

"Don't you consider yourself as my friend?"

"I do, but - I mean other than me.. Sorry that was rude." He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

"No it wasn't. You're right, maybe that's why I've never had a guy as a friend, but now look at you. You've always been friends with Alex she's gorgeous and you're really handsome, but are you two in love?"

Kyle laughed. His laugh didn't have any emotion in it. He wasn't sad. That wasn't a sad reality for him. Can it be true? Maybe he really isn't in love with Alex but is in love with that girl from Hogwarts, Clara, like the rumors say. Either way, that's gonna change. I can see it changing little by little. You may call me mad, but I always get what I want.

"We'll put the names of the students who'll be having the next test once we get to the school." Mr Brooks said.

It didn't happen immediately, it took them about fifteen minutes to finally write the names of the students who've succeeded this test.

Good thing that Ruby girl wasn't in the list anymore. Maybe she couldn't really fake being kind like the others. She isn't really kind, not to me anyway. I can't wait for us to be only ten.
