A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

11. The Airport

"Airports see more sincere kisses than wedding halls.

The walls of hospitals have heard more prayers

than the walls of churches."

"Already put it."

"What's left then?" Mum was asking, she wanted to make sure I haven't forgotten to get anything. Today's Sunday, and today's the travel day.

"Your Teddy bear?" Kyle asked, laughing. He sat opposite me, we were having breakfast, and Sirius and I were leaving soon.

"Stop teasing me. Isn't it enough that I'm this nervous?" I asked laughing a bit. I was really nervous, I have been from the moment I opened my eyes today. I rubbed my sweaty hands with my pants, not for the first time today, and stared at the cereal bowl that was in front of me.

"Stop being that nervous." Mum said. "Everything's gonna be alright. And for God's sake you should eat something! You've been staring at your bowl for nearly half an hour."

"I've almost finished mine." Sirius said. Unlike me, Sirius was extremely calm, of course, he was after all going home, and why would that be hard for him?

I wasn't really feeling like eating, but I thought about it for a while. If I didn't eat now, I'll get hungry later, and I'll regret it. So at last I started eating my cereal.

"We have to leave soon." Sirius said after a pause of silence. I stood up, leaving my half-empty cereal bowl on the table.

"I think we should go now. The faster we go, the better."

I went to my room and found a piece of parchment on my desk, I opened it to realize it was the Ministry of Magic's letter to me. I opened it carefully and read it for probably the twentieth time at least,

Dear Miss Cross,

We are glad to inform you that a decisions was taken about you and your case. At last we decided that you will be welcome to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for one year. You also have to know that you will not be allowed to use magic outside of Hogwarts just like the other wizards and witches. You will know more details about your timetable and studying schedule after you go to Hogwarts. The first day of term starts at Sunday, don't forget to get all your magical equipment you will be needing them for school.

Nobby Leach,

Minister of Magic.

We reached the airport, mum drove us there.

"Trip going to London, gate 8..."

That was our plane. I looked at my suitcase and thought how weird it'd feel if a muggle asked  me to open it and found it full of spellbooks, wizards robes and everything. My eyes then traveled from the suitcase to Mum. She opened her arms and I threw myself and hugged her tightly. She kissed my cheeks.

"Write for me! Every week." She said now crying, her hands on my cheeks.

"I'll do my best. Mum, please don't cry! I'll come at Christmas."

"Okay, okay." She said wiping her tears with the palms of her eyes. "Take care of yourself." She then turned to Sirius. "You're a good guy, Sirius. Take care of her there."

"Sure, miss Tonks. I will." Sirius said proudly.

Kyle's P.O.V

After the long hug that Alex gave to her mother, she turned to me. Tears were in her eyes because of the emotional moment she had with her mother.

"Come here you idiot." She said hugging me.

Even that I didn't want Alex to leave, I was really happy for her. Going to Hogwarts is one of the best things that's ever happened to me in my entire life, and I know it's been like this for Alex too. Especially after she became what she is. Going back to Hogwarts would of course be as cool as going there for the first time, especially if you had  friends there, waiting for you to come back. Alex was going to spend a year there, and I was really happy for her. Yes, I'll miss her, but I know that she'll be happy, and I'm also happy for her. If you don't get happy for your best friend, who would you get happy for?

I'm pretty sure this was the longest and best hug Alex and I ever had. Probably because we both know how much we'll miss each other, and because it'd take us a very long time till we meet again.

"Have as much fun there as possible, alright. Don't forget to write to me, like you used to write to Max and Sirius and Clara. Say hello to the others and tell them how much I miss them. And Ally, study well, you do want to be a successful witch, now don't you. You've only got one year to study magic." I said.

"Kyle, I think it's the first time I've heard you talk that fast and that much." She said laughing. "Ok, I will."

I finally gave her a brotherly kiss on the cheek and then she turned to Sirius, he said goodbye to us, and hugged me, then he held Ally's hand and her suitcase in the other. Then they both turned and went into the passageway that led to the plane. After a last wave they walked a bit more and disappeared to get in the plane.
