A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

84. Quidditch

I was really concerned about today's match. I have never been in a real match before! It's kind of terrifying. I think I'm not a bad player, I mean, I've caught the snitch as many times as I was supposed to, but the thing isn't only about catching the snitch. It's about catching it on time. I have to be fast. At least faster than the other team's seeker.

We're going to play against Hufflepuff today. The funny part about Hufflepuff is that it reminds me of Ethan, our friend from Cambridge. He was sorted in Hufflepuff and every time I say Hufflepuff I kinda remember him. Then I remember Ruby. Then I remember the awesome, magical month we had last year.

"Eat so you won't faint. But don't eat much, so you wont puke." Max said.

"Okay, mum." I said sarcastically because she really sounded like her. Max laughed, but I could tell she was nervous as well.

"You'll do great. You play too well, both of you." Lara said trying to make us relax a bit. This wasn't like the triwizard tournament. I really wanted to win today, so bad. Like, more than I want to be the triwizard champion, I guess. One, because I love Quidditch and flying, but I don't really enjoy fighting poisonous, small-elephants-sized spiders that much. Two, because I think I might actually have a chance in winning this, because I have my team with me, whereas, I have no chances at all in winning the tournament. And three, well, because it's not really fatal, there are only two options today; either I win, or I lose - not die.

Sirius and the boys came just in time. I needed to see him so that I'd feel better. Sirius makes me feel better about everything. Myself, my team, the world - everything. Only seeing him would brighten my mood. He kissed my forehead before he seated himself next to me, asked how I was feeling, and I replied that I'm feeling okay.

"You'll win." Sirius simply said.

"Been spending some extra hours in Divination classes?" I asked joking. He laughed.

"I don't really need that. I already have an eye that knows everything about the future." He said darkly. I just laughed.

The match wasn't actually quite hard.

I mean, yes, I was almost hit by several Bludgers, but hey, this happens every time we play Quidditch, and I've kinda got used to avoiding them. All those times in practice, they happened to be really useful.

We scored five times and they only scored twice.

I couldn't tell who the commentator was, and I really didn't care much, all I was thinking of was the snitch. It disappeared completely. Even the other team's seeker couldn't find it anyway.

"Seems like the snitch decided to go for a nap." The commentator was saying. I thought it was metaphorically, but no, the snitch was actually lying on the ground. "Well, that was a bad hit." It must've hit something and just decided to give up. I didn't know it could do that. The other seeker was no where to be found, probably searching for the snitch in the other part of the pitch. I landed to the ground and was just going to catch the snitch. It was now that it decided not to completely give up and started flying away from me. It took me so much speed and time to finally catch it, but it wasn't that hard. And as easy as that - the game ended.

Sirius was right. We did win this.

I looked at the crowd and found Sirius and my friends there, the girls and the boys. They were all very excited. Kyle was probably the most excited one of them, he was really happy for me, having my first real match ever and everything. I wish he could fly and do magic and be half a wizard like me. I really wish he could share this thing with me, not because I'm lonely, not because I want a company, but because he's my friend and I'd love him to experience the nice things I'm experiencing.

I raised my hand in the air, like champions would do, and shouted, "YES!" only to make them get more excited. They cheered perfectly.

~One Week Later

We decided to go and visit Hagrid today, and when did we didn't find him at first, then we found him coming out of the forbidden forest. He was happy to see us and let us in his cabin.

"I was only sayin' hello to my friends in the forest, and I need to bring my pumpkins to the Great Hall." He said. "How are yeh doin'?" Only the five of us were there, the marauders and Alex.

"We're good. We just came to say hi, it's been a long time since we last visited you." James said. Hagrid smiled.

"Best kids at Hogwarts." He muttered.

"Would you like us to help you?" I suggested. There were lots of pumpkins in his garden. We first noticed an orange color surrounding his cabin. I looked at them again from the window. Some were really really huge, do they use some sort of magic spells to make them grow bigger? Some were normal sized, though, we could help him with those.

"It would be great if yeh did! But it's a bit 'ard. I don't really carry them all at the same time, but it takes a while. But yeh can possibly use the levitation charm it would be easier this way."

"Great, then I'll just use the levitation charm, it would make things much easier." I said joking. Hagrid and the boys laughed.

"I'm sorry, Kyle. I keep forgetting yer a muggle!" Hagrid said.

"No it's fine, I was only kidding. I'll still help though."

"I will too." Alex said.

So we helped Hagrid with his pumpkins. It wasn't such a hard job with the others' magic. Besides, there were seven of us and Hagrid was as strong as the six of us all. We then had to leave, for we had classes but the some other professors soon came and helped with the pumpkins. They were crafting them and everything, getting them ready for tomorrow's Halloween feast. Sirius told me they make a big feast every Halloween, and since I love the food here so these were great news for me.
