A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

20. Magic Basics

Sirius's P.O.V

"So .. you've got your book?" I asked.

"Mhmm, it's right here." Alex answered. I left her hand just to open the class room's door. When I went to professor Flitwick and asked him how I should teach Alex Magic Basics he told me that it's quite simple. Alex needs to learn the basic things about magic. Things that she will need in her daily life, whether she worked in the wizarding world or she didn't. She also had some books, and he told me that there is a classroom I can use for her teaching.

As I opened the door I noticed that it's not a very big chamber. It has a small chalkboard and about six seats. I let Alex get in and then started walking in the chamber, trying to figure out how I'm supposed to start.

"So?" Alex said sitting in one of the seats. "Umm, I'm new to this class professor. My name is Alex Cross, and you are?"

"Professor Black. Pleasure to meet you. By the time, I will let you call me just Sirius, but - not yet." I said playing it along with her. Alex nodded. "Now, we'll start with something simple. Like, holding your wand."

I got my wand from my robes and asked for hers. She had hers in her robes, but she didn't get it as fast as I did. It's typical, really, cause she doesn't use her wand often.

"You should learn to get it out of your robes faster." I said.

"Yeah, well, I'm working on it - professor." she added smiling.

"Good." I pointed with my wand to the chalkboard and got a white chalk. "Now, your work's really good with your magic powers." Alex kept on nodding. "And it's a good sign."

"But, I haven't actually tried anything major-"

"Oh come on Alex, let's just say you did." I said and I paused for a laugh. Alex laughed too. "So, before you start doing the magic spells, we have to make sure you know how to hold your wand."

"Now according to Mr. Ollivander the way you hold your wand is okay, but it's not quite perfect. Come on, show me how you hold it."

Alex held her wand in a strange way, it made me laugh.

"Now it's not a tennis racket Alex, you should tell the difference."

"Oh shut up!" She said laughing. "How should I do it then?"

"Just like you're holding a wand, not a pen, and not a racket." Alex nodded. I held her hand, and put her fingers in the right way.

"Like this?" She asked.

"Exactly." I said looking now into her eyes.

"Did you just hold my hand?" She giggled.

"Well, you should differently tell your boyfriend you need some space, cause it seems like I really like you Alex Cross." Alex blushed and hit my arm playfully.

Max's P.O.V

Someone opened the dormitory's door. Alex.

"Hey." She said.

"Oh hello. How was your class lovebird?" I asked.

"Oh you know, magical." She said blushing and rolling her eyes at the same time. How could she have two feelings at once?

"Aha, magical. You think you're gonna learn something since Sirius's your teacher?" I asked laughing a bit.

"Well, I did learn how to hold my wand today, and I have a homework." I raised my eyebrow questionably. "I have to train myself on taking my wand from the robes quickly."

"Now that's what I call homework." I said sarcastically. Alex laughed.

I was in my dorm because I got bored, and I wasn't in the mood to be surrounded by everyone. I needed some peace and silence. But Alex's company wasn't really bad.

"So, when will you start doing magic?" I asked after a long silence.

"I don't know, tomorrow maybe? I'm so excited!"

"Yeah. Your first spell will probably be Wingardium Leviosa. Then you'll do some harder stuff. Some cool stuff, magic." Alex nodded and laid in her bed.

"Hey Max. Do you want to be in the Quidditch team?"

"No, I don't think so. I mean, maybe. Why're you asking?" I asked.

"Just wondering."
