A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

28. Licence

It's Sunday, and it only means one thing to me; licence day. I just need to take the last driving test and I will have my licence in my hands.

I was in my mother's car, she was driving as usual. She dropped me off wishing me luck.

"I'll be back in an hour." She said.

As I walked to the driving test place, I found the man who taught me how to drive. Her greeted me and led me to the car I was being tested in. I was surprised, I didn't think I would take the test that fast. I was really nervous, and even that I was a really good driver, I felt like this car was a rocket or some strange thing that I knew nothing about controlling it. He got some papers in his hands and a red pen. I got into the car and started trying to remember everything I've learned. Chair, mirrors, seat belt. I remembered. Okay. The chair was really close to the glass facing me, whoever took the test before me must've been short, it kinda made me feel long. I'm not that long, not that I consider myself long, but I'm not considered short either. I checked the mirrors and fixed them, and as I took a glimpse at my trainer I found him nodding and writing something that looked like a check on the papers he was holding. That relieved me, but not so much. I put the seat belt on and started driving. At first, I was really careful, and really slow. Then I remembered flying with Clara, back when I was at Hogwarts. Of course I couldn't fly, but I was on the broomstick that Clara controlled. I remembered how fast it went, and how amazing it was. I love speed, so why was I that slow. I completely forgot that I was in a test and started driving faster. Actually, it felt really awesome, the windows were open and I liked the sound of the air from it. The trainer finally talked,

"You might want to slow down cause we're in a dangerous area." His voice reminded me that I was on a test, and when I looked at his hands, I found them holding to the chair strongly, and I instantly slowed down, but not so much. Despite the look on his face, everything told me that I was doing alright.

Next thing I had to do, was to park the car.

I had to park it between two trunks, and it was really hard. Fast at first, and then really slow, I drove. And carefully I started trying to park it. Easy now, easy. I just had to park it and then the test would be over. I nearly bumped the truck behind me, and I gasped. Turning the car and moving it slowly to the left, onward, I managed to park the car, and I instantly exhaled.

"That was-!" The trainer said. "Terrific! Congratulations! You may have your licence, you're such a good driver Kyle Alford, good luck with your driving."

"Thank you!" I said shaking his hands. That was cool.

I tried calling Kyle and when he didn't answer I got disappointed. It felt really good to have his phone number, but it felt bad when I called and he didn't answer! like, really bad. It's bad enough that he still considers that girl, Clara, his girlfriend. It's silly, really. They haven't seen each other in at least months, I guess! I wanted to hang with him.

I called my friend Helena;

"Hey there Jaz." She said.

"So how're you doing?" She asked.

"And Kyle?"

"Really good. He's in the bathroom, actually."

"Ooh, so you're at his house, or what?"

"Yeah, he wanted me to meet his parents." I lied playing with my hair.

"That's good. That's really better than the expected." Helena sounded just a bit uncertain.

"Yeah? Anyway, I just called to say hello, Kyle's back I'll call you later." I said very fast as if I was on a hurry, and I hung up. I laughed. Lying to her was so easy, but it can't really be considered lying. Kyle will make me meet his parents soon, right? I sighed and decided to call him again, but before I did, my phone rang up with his name. That was even better.

"Oh hey Kyle." I picked it up instantly.

"Wow, you're fast! How're you doing?" He asked sounding happy.

"I don't know, I mean I'm okay, I'm just super bored." I said allowing my voice to sound miserable. I sat on my fluffy, pink sofa and my dog came into my room, laying on my lap.

"Want to go out and have some frozen yogurt?" I smiled. "You can get your friends, I'll get to know them."

"They're busy, actually. Can we go alone? I mean, it won't be awkward right?" I laughed.

"Why would it be, Alex and I always hanged out together and it never felt awkward. So I'll pick you up in half an hour."

"You'll pick me up?" I asked surprised.

"Yeah, I got my license." He said before hanging up. I went to my wardrobe. I had to find something good to wear. I picked a short pink skirt and a white shirt that had pink small flowers all over it. Yellow high heels, bracelets, necklace and a bag. I hope it's not too much. My style is usually dressy, but not everyone's is. I braided my hair and used a pink ribbon in stead of a hair band. My phone rang up.

"I'm here."

~Author's Note~

I changed it because someone told me that the whole P.O.V thing is "disrupting the flow of the story." So I don't know.. I like it this way,, it feels more professional xD

What do you think about it?? Do you like it?? =)
