A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

34. Hagrid's

After we went to the common room I found the Quidditch's parchment pinned on the board. I read it;

The Quidditch's team for this year will consist of:

Jordan Ross, Chaser and Captain.

Jacob Green, Chaser.

Rachel Price, Chaser.

Edward Hall, Beater.

Zoe Williams, Beater.

Max Rosiel, Keeper.

Alex Cross, Seeker.

Quidditch training will start tomorrow at fifth period,

and it will take the same time daily, except for Fridays.

"OH MY GOD!" I couldn't hide my excitement. "Alex come and read!" Alex who was talking to Clara about a book she had in her hands, turned to me.

"What it is?" She asked now walking towards me.

"I - you - we got accepted in the Quidditch's team! Both of us!" Alex's eyes widened, so did her mouth. I heard her whisper, "Oh my god." And then she hugged me and started jumping like a rabbit.

At lunch time we sat with the boys, Alex was asking them about their plans, and if they had any.

"Well, I was thinking we should go to Hagrid's."

"That's a good idea, it's been a long time since we last visited him. And besides, Ally's never been to his place before, or have you Ally?" Sirius asked. Alex shook her head.

"Great, then I'll go with you." I said.

"But we can't stay late, I have four more classes for today." Alex said sadly.

"We'll be back soon." Sirius said, brushing her cheek with his fingers.

And so we went to Hagrid's. We knocked the door loudly, as we usually do, and waited for him to open it for us.

"Who's there? Oh it's yeh guys! It's been a long time since you last visited meh."

"And look, they've brought Alex and me with them." I said smiling. I hoped Hagrid wouldn't mind our visit.

"Ah, of course they brought you with 'em, ladies. Welcome, welcome." He said letting us in.

The place was not that huge. I mean, when I imagined Hagrid's hut, I thought it'd be a bit larger. But it was really cosy, and warm. Actually it was really amazing, I liked it. There were only four chairs, so they weren't really enough for all of us, but it was okay, I didn't have to sit down.

'Let the ladies sit down!" Hagrid said. Yeah, Hagrid's kinda my friend too, but he still sometimes treat me like I'm someone really important, probably because I'm a girl, and maybe it's because of the whole half-witch thing. "Yeh know Ally, professor Dumbledore's told me all about you, he said that you're a good kid, and I agreed with him, I've really liked you from the first day you entered the grounds of Hogwarts." Awwh. I felt warm from the inside, and I just wanted to hug Hagrid. That's probably why the boys like Hagrid. He's really brave, and yet really sweet, one of the kindest people I've ever met in my life.

"I like you too, Hagrid." I said. "Actually, one of the reasons I came here is that I've never visited you in your place."

"Well then, you'll be as welcome as everyone else, 'ere. How are you all boys?" He asked Sirius, James, Peter and Remus.

"Really great Hagrid." James said.

"And yeh Max?" He asked.

"Never been better, I've been accepted in the Quidditch's team, so has Alex."

"Oh really? That's amazing, well, I'll be keeping an eye on the Ravenclaw's matches then."

"Just don't move or you'll destroy the whole thing." Jasmine said while laughing.

"I can't." I said, laughing too. Jasmine was drawing me a mustache using the whiteboard's pen. We had a free period now, and we were really bored. Sometimes her friends join us, I've talked to them once or twice, and they seem okay. I like Jasmine the most, of course.

"And - I'm done." She said closing the pen and then staring at the mustache that she drew and laughed once more. "It was supposed to be a mustache, but now it looks like a - I don't even know what it looks like."

"Now it's my turn." I said taking the pen from her hand.

"No, no no no no." She said super fast and started running. I grabbed both her hands with one hand and she had her back stuck to the lockers. I started drawing her a mustache. Maybe our faces were closer than the supposed... maybe. "Kyle, don't! You idiot." She said laughing. I drew her a thin black mustache, and it looked so funny. Someone interrupted me, coming towards us,

"There's a paper pinned on that board says that the first -or technically second- test to go to Hogwarts will be today." It was Ruby. The girl who went with me and Alex last year to Hogwarts.

"Ruby! Thank you for telling us." But Ruby was giving me a strange look. I still had both Jasmine's hands in my first hand and the pen with the other, and Jasmine was looking from Ruby to me, now I discovered. Her chest rising and falling from running from me. I crossed my eyebrows, not certain what was the reason of Ruby's strange look. And as Ruby turned and left I said to Jasmine, "Hey, I'll be right back in a minute." And went after her. "Hey Ruby." I called. She turned to face me. "Is anything wrong?"

"N-no, it's not really my business. Sorry Kyle, it's just that-"

"What's not your business." She stayed silent for a while and then sighed.

"Okay. I just wanted to ask, are you and Clara still - you know, together?"

"Sure we are, what makes you doubt is?" I asked a little offended.

"You're kidding right?" She asked. "I mean, it's just that, the way you and Jasmine look at each other, I just thought that maybe she was-"

"My girlfriend? No, Clara is." I said getting angry. "Why are you all saying that? I mean, I've been like this with Alex for, like ever-"

"But with Alex's not like that. She doesn't look at you like Jasmine does. Look, I know it's not my business, and I shouldn't've asked you about that. I'm sorry."

I nodded. Yeah you should be. I thought as I walked back to Jasmine.
