A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

87. Friday

By nighttime, Sirius decided to take me somewhere,

"I know you love surprises, so I won't tell you where we're going." He said.

"As long as they're like the merepeople's surprise I adore surprises." I said. He laughed.

"Well, I can't promise it will be as good as that one, that one needed lots of planning. The thing is, I just want to take you somewhere that means a lot to me. It's a place that I both love and hate, and I think you should see it because of that."

James gave him the invisibility cloak, Sirius said we'll need it because he didn't want anyone to know we're there. We sneaked out of the castle and its grounds and then apparated.

I've got used to apparating by now, it doesn't really get me that sick anymore.

"12 Grimmauld Place." Sirius said in a low voice as we approached the place. "Look carefully at the building."

The building split in half, showing an extra house.

"Wow." I said. "Is that your-"

"Welcome to Noble and Most Ancient House of Black." He said grinning. We were under the invisibility cloak, and as we entered no one noticed us. I was really excited.

I could hear his mother's voice. The house itself was huge and - kind of scary in a way. But oh well, it's Halloween after all. He made me a tour, whispering what each room was. He didn't take me to the room his mother was in, though, and when we reached his room and he closed the door behind us, I asked him why he didn't.

"You do know that I don't live here anymore don't you?" The conversation was still in whispers but but not in an annoying way.

"Yeah, you live with James but, you never told me why exactly."

"I hate them. The whole lot of them. Regulus is the finest one of them and now he's turning just like them slowly. He has a good heart, but they're destroying that too. They think that to be a Black made you practically royal. They're obsessed with the whole pure-blood thing, it's so annoying!" He didn't add anything and I asked no more about it.

"So that's you're room. That's where the great Sirius Black used to sleep and spend most of his time." He chuckled.

"Yeah, it's like a celebrity's room, quite cool huh?" He said joking.

"You know, normally when boys take girls to their rooms, they don't just take them for a tour." I said teasing. He raised his eyebrows.

"You know, you're right. We can do anything you want under this cloak, it would be quite fun." We both laughed. "Come now, I want to show you one more room before we leave."

The room we went to was empty. I wasn't sure what it was until he lightened his wand and pointed it at the wall.

"The Black's family tree." He whispered. He was following the branch that led to him but when he found his place, we noticed that his picture was replaced by a black hole in the wall. "Of course. She disowned me. This hole means I'm dead." He let out one of those sad laughs.

"I'm sorry." I just said. He started at me for a while before pushing his lips into mine.

"You should know that I've never brought a girl to my house before, Ally. I hope it makes you see somehow just how special you are to me." I smiled.

That's my Sirius, always making sure I feel as special to him as he is to me.

Next day, I woke up happily realizing it's Friday. Friday means only three classes, apparition and a Slug Club for me, which is good. I mean, I'm really happy to know everything I can about magic and everything, but one, the tests and quizzes need lots of studying, two, my time's full because of all these classes, three, I have Quidditch and the triwizard tournament to worry about, and four, I'm getting exhausted. I'm still happy, but exhausted.

I took my Defense Against the Dark Arts class and my last apparition class. I've learned everything about my case in apparition and now I can apparate, but I still need some more practice to master it perfectly. But the good thing is that I can practice whenever I want, it's not a class anymore. No more Apparition or Magic Basics classes. At first I was disappointed by canceling Sirius's class, but not anymore. It's not like I can't spend time with Sirius without a classroom.

The Slug club was actually fun this time, professor Slughorn was delighted to find me there, since I couldn't come to the last one. He asked me a lot about the tournament, which, I have to admit, I didn't mind that much. I still have time to worry about the next task.

After the Slug club I decided to go to professor Dumbledore and tell him about finishing my Apparition classes and Magic Basics' even that it's not that important, he asked me to tell him about almost any progress so I thought he'd want that.

The shocking part was, though, that I found a muggle leaving his office.

My mother.
