A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

16. First Day of School

Kyle's P.O.V

I heard the alarm clock's exploding voice and discovered it was time for me to wake up. Today was the first day of school. I really hate the first day of school, summer can't be over. I yawned loudly and then the alarm clock rang again, and I cursed under my breath, throwing it on the wall. But let's face it, I was awake, and I couldn't get back to sleep now.

I was awake in time, and probably a bit earlier, I immediately thought of Alex. She would be awake by now. Oh, I remembered. Alex's at Hogwarts. She will not come to our school this year.

The thoughts gives me some kind of hurt. I don't want to start my new year without my best friend. Well, who ever does? It really sucks to think about it this way, that she wasn't sharing the year with me. The first couple of weeks will be hard, I guess. I'll have to make some new friends, and I'm too lazy to make new friends. Making friends can take lots of effort and time, and you can't trust anyone easily. You never know who might back stab you.

I slowly get into a sitting position and then smell something like rotten eggs. It takes me a while to discover that this smell's coming from me. I have to take a shower, and it was okay, really, I still had lots of time. I stood up and went to the bathroom, I got undressed and the cold water started running though the shower. I didn't mind cold water in a hot day like this, so I got into the shower and enjoyed the feeling of the cold water running down my skin. After I finished my shower I wrapped my body in a towel and got dressed very fast. I went to the kitchen and something smelled delicious, pancakes. Mum was making pancakes.

"Morning, love." She said.

"Morning mum." I said as I took the pancakes's plate and started eating them.

"Hey, save some for your sister." I immediately stopped eating, only a bit were left anyway. God, I really should stop eating like a pig. As if we called her, Carla came into the kitchen, looking as good as ever, of course she had to look good, it was her first year in High school. I was however a junior, and I didn't want girls' attention, I already have a girlfriend, whom I should be loyal with. Carla was so excited to go to school, and it kinda make me laugh in a low voice.

After Carla ate her pancakes -or actually was what left of them- mum got ready to give us a drive. I really hated the idea of having mum to drive me to school even that I am now a junior, I should've taken my licence a long time a go, but my parents refused to give me lessons and I finally managed to get them to agree to give me lessons by the end of my last year, and that's what I've been doing this summer. Taking so many driving lessons that I know can't wait to get my driving license. Just one week and I'll have it in my hands.

As we said goodbye to mum, and got into school Carla and I nodded to each other and separated. I wasn't really sure where to go to, I had no idea what my timetable had for me. I knew almost nothing about my classes. It would be mostly Alex, the one who always checked the classes schedule right after we enter the school's gates. But since Alex won't be here, I have to depend on myself on things like this. Ugh, shit.

As I entered the school, I felt like entering it for the first time. Who where all of those people? I knew lots of them, but the others, I wasn't sure. I wanted to find my locker first and to know about my classes. I also wanted to meet some old friends, that were just friends for me, last year. A guy who shared my English class last year came to me.

"Hey Tom." I said.

"Oh hey Kyle! What's up?" He asked giving me a high five.

"Nothing much, just looking for my locker and some things." Some people, Kyle. Some people.

"Well I think your locker's the one near the Art class, the one over there." He said pointing at it. "Actually I've got the key of it with me, that's why I came to you." He said giving it to me.

"Right. Thanks." I said taking the keys and going to my locker. As I opened it and put my stuff there I found a girl with black hair putting her stuff in the locker next to mine. She was taking some glimpses at me, but when she noticed I was looking at her, she looked away, smiling to herself shyly. What? After a bit I found her joining a group of girls who I haven't seen before, at least, I don't think I have. They all looked okay, but that girl was the prettiest of them. She kinda reminded me of Clara, I don't know why. Probably it was her shyness, or her hair. But Clara's hair's brown, brown and black? Close enough. I discovered I was staring at the girl and frowning, concentrating on her face and on the similarities between Clara and her. When she looked at me, I looked away. She started giggling and immediately the girls she was standing with all started laughing too. It was kinda weird. This's barely happened to me before.

I shook my head as if trying to take my mind off of the girl and Clara and the bell rang. I closed the closet and went to the first class I could think of. English.

The class was okay, the teacher said that it was okay that most of us didn't know about their classes and their timetables. We weren't going to take lots of classes today. But I had a goal, I want to meet as much people as possible. I signed up in every class I had a chance in. The school's football team, computer club, outing club, and even a book club. Of course I wasn't going to be accepted immediately in these clubs, I had to go to each club's meeting and they'll see if the can accept me.

Without realizing it I found myself walking toward my locker, looking at the girl's one. I opened mine and found a piece of paper. My classes timetable. But how?
