A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

14. Back to Hogwarts

Alex's P.O.V

We were already in our robes as we got out of the train. We were in the lake, Sirius, Max, Clara and I were in the same boat. Rowing all the way to the castle, Sirius was holding the lantern. Hogwarts was not far anymore, I could see it right in front of me.

My last year's memories all came back to me, just by looking at it from this distance. I instantly smiled. Sirius laughed when he looked at me and found me smiling. I breathed the fresh air. We finished rowing.

"Okay now, first years over 'ere." I heard someone say, it was Hagrid. A guy Sirius and the marauders told me about so much last year, but I've never really talked to him or anything. He was insanely huge and his face and head were both really hairy. We were no first years' so we continued walking by ourselves.

The huge gates were open and I could see the portraits all smiling and welcoming us, this time there was no hate from them. Of course, they were welcoming the Hogwarts' students and probably didn't know about me at all. ًWe entered the Entrance hall and I couldn't take the stupid smile off of my face. I couldn't believe this was all around me, again. To our right, the Great Hall was, and I knew where it was perfectly. Yes, it was only a month, but we went to the Great Hall many, many times. Three times a day, at least. The houses' heads sat by their house's tables, and they were all smiling to us. I knew my house's table instantly, Ravenclaw. No sorting this time, no more playing with my nerves. To Ravenclaw I belonged, the house of wise and smart people. Funny to think I'm wise and smart, I don't look so.

I waved Sirius and the Gryffindors goodbye and went to my table with Max and Clara. After a while the hall was full of people, they were all talking. The first years students were entering the hall, everyone started looking at them and applauding to them, yeah, I know how they feel. Maybe it was really easier for us, but it must be harder for wizards. Their whole lives depend on the house they get sorted into. Their family pride, their thoughts and self confidence. But maybe it's just crap, who cares for pride, each one of the houses is good in its own way. None's better than the other, and no one's better than the other, not here in the wizarding world, or in the Muggles world, or anywhere. The world's gotta believe that.

Professor Dumbledore rose, and tapped his goblet with a spoon. The hall got silent, and every eye was on him. He then started his speech,

"Welcome, welcome to Hogwarts. To most of you, this is nothing but another year at school, to others however, it's something more important, it's their last year, or their first year. To those who will say goodbye to us at the end of this year, you will all be missed, but don't forget that Hogwarts will always be everybody's home." The hall got filled with applaud. Professor Dumbledore nodded, and then raised his hand, to silence us and continue speaking. "To our new students," He turned to the first years' "You should know how much you're all welcomed, have a nice year, and years to come, at Hogwarts. I wish you the best of luck, with both your sorting and your - future, here at Hogwarts." We started applauding again, and we thought that he finished his speech, but he raised his hand again, and continued, "I would also like to welcome someone special, a student that's only been to Hogwarts last year for a month." My heart skipped a beat, and I instantly got a hundred times more interested in what he was saying. And despite my unimportant nervousness, I smiled. "Yes, she's a girl. And yes, she's a Ravenclaw. Alex Cross, the wizarding world's new celebrity. The half witch. Welcome back, my dear, we missed you and are all pleased to know you're joining us for this year. I hope there will be good cooperation with her and no bad treatment, she's just as good as some witches and wizards in here." Wow, I really loved Dumbledore.

"Thank you, sir." I mouthed. He nodded and sat down. Everyone started applauding again, all looking at me, Max patter my back and I started giggling. This was perfect.

Soon the sorting ceremony started and the sorting hat sung out a new song, so many new students joined our house, and it felt so amazing, to have more people in our house. After that, the feast started, and the tables were filled with the delicious food that I missed.

Kyle's P.O.V

Tomorrow's the first day of school, and I was really feeling kinda strange, I was going to spend this year alone, without Alex with me. It wasn't really a good thought, she is my best friend after all, and the school without her would be so different, and even worse. I won't go to school by a car, since I haven't really got my license yet, but I'm looking forward to taking it. Really, I can't wait till I do. I was in my bed, thinking about tomorrow, and about today. How did Alex spend her first day at Hogwarts? She must've watched the sorting ceremony from the other student's point of view, since we were the ones to get sorted last year. I wish I could go with her to Hogwarts. I really miss it all, all the magic, all my friends there, and the place itself. Everything was amazing there, life exciting.

We'll see what happens tomorrow, and how this year's gonna be. I hope it goes alright. I really hope so.
