A Magical Year (Magical trilogy book #2)

*Complete* 1976 ... Last year, Alex and Kyle visited Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with their school. They're best friends, and more like a brother and sister. Hogwarts was not the kind of school they expected to ever visit, since it taught REAL magic. And they never expected to meet such people there, people who they'd love.
Because of this love, Alex got the ability to make some simple spells; a talent that it so rare that it's nearly impossible. Now what'll happen when Alex turns from a muggle to a part-witch? And what will the Ministry of Magic decide to do about her?

3. A Letter From the Ministry of Magic

Alex's P.O.V

I woke up by myself the other day, knowing that mum won't try to awake me. I brushed my teeth and went to the kitchen. I poured some milk in a bowl and grabbed the cereal box from the cupboard by the oven and put some cereal in the bowl. Mum wasn't in the kitchen. I started eating my cereal and soon she walked in. We hasn't talked to me after what happened yesterday; I only asked her if she received anything from an owl, because I remembered yesterday after the phone call with Kyle that the Ministry of Magic will probably send us an owl, not a letter in the mailbox. She told me that she hadn't received anything from an owl, but I wasn't sure if I should believe her or not. At last I decided to do believe her, and went to my room.

Mum sat on the chair opposite me. I looked at the cereal bowl I was eating from, and didn't take my eyes off of it.

"Professor Albus Dumbledore sent us a letter with an owl." She said as if nothing happened between the two of us yesterday. Despite the curiosity that felt like running through my veins I said nothing, and decided to let her say everything she has. Mum seemed to get what I was doing, cause she continued, "He said that the Ministry of Magic has decided what to do about you. And he also asked to inform you that you will not be allowed to use Magic in the muggles' world. And if you did, you will be punished by the Ministry of Magic."

"Then where should I use magic?! I live here! It's not fair!" My temper was stronger than my curiosity, and it didn't allow me to shut up.

"It's fair enough." Mum said. She was half-way through the stairs when she stopped and turned to me. My bowl was empty now, so I put it in the sink. "The wedding's next Thursday, just to remind you." And she continued walking upstairs. Next Thursday but today was Tuesday.

"Mum!" I called before she was all the way upstairs. "Did professor Dumbledore say what the ministry of Magic decided to do with me?"

"No. But he told us to expect a letter from them soon."

Kyle's P.O.V

"Clara - Carla, can you give me the remote of the TV?" This has been happening a lot since I went back from Hogwarts. I wasn't for sure mistaking Carla as Clara, I wasn't getting mad, but the thing is that Clara's been all in my mind since then, not to mention the similarity between her name and Carla's.

"Seriously Kyle? I'm Clara again? I know you love her and everything-"

"You're names are really similar to each other." But Carla gave me a bored look that said, yeah-right. And gave me the remote anyway. After a while the phone rang,

"Hello." Carla answered it. "Oh hey Ally. I'm alright. Yeah, he's here - Kyle." She gave me the phone.

"Hey Kyle." Alex said.

"What's up?"

"Something's happening and I'm nervous."

"What's it?" I said getting worried.

"The ministry's decided about what to do with my situation, and they're supposed to be sending me a letter any second, and it's really getting me so nervous!"

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, mum just told me professor Dumbledore sent us a letter saying all of this - OH MY GOD! I think the owl's arrived. Mum!" Alex said so loud that I had to put the speaker away from my ear. "Kyle I'll call you later, I wanna see what's in the letter."

"But Ally, I wanna know now!" I said.

"I'll call you later Kyle." She said firmly. "Bye." And she hung up.

Alex's P.O.V

I got the letter from the owl and opened it, my hands shaking. Soon I found my mother standing next to me.

"You should probably read it inside, Alex." Mum said. I nodded and went inside. "Read it aloud."

I opened the envelope carefully, and got the letter out. I cleared my throat and read,

"Dear Miss Cross,"
