5. The Change

I remember the next day pretty clearly because that's when the change took place and to be honest I till don't know why.

I remember walking to the Great Hall by myself because I felt out of place, and I didn't know anyone.

I sat down and ate, I was there for about five minutes when someone came up behind me and said, "Is it alright if I sit with you."

I looked up to see Lola standing next to me. She had curly, long, bleach blonde hair, with green eyes you could see a mile way. Her skin was pale and she had a few freckles on her cheeks. I have seen her dad before and I don't think she looks anything like him.

"Um...Sure, go right a head," I mumbled.

"You know your not like your brothers from what I have heard," she explained after ten minutes of giving me this creep look.

"Since when have you been the expert on my family," I spat at her.

"I have four older siblings, two are in your brother Albus's year and one in James," she spat back at me.

"What do you mean by I'm different from them though," I asked confused.

She laughed than looked at me and signed, "You really don't see it do you?"

I shook my head, "See what?"

"Wow being in that family really does blind you," she mumbled, "Lily no offense but your family thinks that they are all high an mighty just because they where in the war. They think everyone looks up to them and they are the people who played a huge part in the war. My dad lost his best friend in the war and my mom says he has never been the same since. And my mom lost her sister, her best friend, trying to protect her, the things she believed, and the people she loved. Your family think that anyone who is a deatheater and they are scum. When really the only reason they became one was to protect their family and stay a live. Because no one is as brave as your dad's mom and no one wants to see there kids hurt and that is what Voldemort would do if our families refused to join them."

I was amazed at how old she sounded and how much passion she spoke with. It was like she knew the people how had died and she knew what those people where thinking when they agreed to be his followers.

"You know I never thought that Slytherin where scum and I never thought they where below anyone. And honestly I know my family have always said things about the war and the things Slytherin's did but I always said there where more things to it things you would only know I you where that person," I explained.

"Really," she said shocked.

"Yeah because I don't think it's fair to judge someone you barely know. Because I know for a fact that some of the things my family did during the war weren't saint like. And I know for a fact no ones a saint," I told her.

Her response was a smile. We were both silent for a while when Jason sat in front of us. "Hey Lola," he said.

"No I don't want next to you. You're going to make me lose brain cells," she said and gabbed her plate then walked down to where the other first years were.

"Ignore the buzz kill, she's just jealous that she isn't as fun as me," he joked.  He stuck his hand out and goes, "I'm Jason Prut by the way."

"Lily Potter," I told him and shock his hand.

"Oh trust me after last night everyone knows that. I wish I could have started an upset like that. Maybe I should I have told the hat to put me in Hufflepuff," he joked.

I laughed at his joke, he was funny and nice. not to mention he didn't start bad mouthing my family within the first five second of our conversation.

"Consulting with a Potter Prut," I turned around to see a guy with blonde hair and grey eyes. I knew from one look who he was and who is father was.

"No, I talking with Lily, a fellow Slytherin," Jason snapped at him.

"Well I guess I should be nicer shouldn't I?" the boy remarked.

"By the way I'm Scorpius Malfoy," he said and stuck out his hand.

I shock it and said, "Lily Potter."

"You know I still can't believe that a potter is in Slytherin. Hoe' your family taking it?" Scorpius asked.

"Your guess is as good as mine," I replied.

"Wait you haven't talked to them yet," he asked me.

"Nope haven't seen them since I got off the train last night," I explained.

"Well if you come with me we will go find out what they think," he told me.

"What do you mean," I said giving him a weird look.

"I'm going over to the Lions table want to come with," he said slowly like I was a three year old.

"Why would you want to go over there? I thought you don't like my family."

"I don't like them, that's why I'm going over to drag we have you just like they did when they got Albus and how he apparently has a brain," he joked.

"I think I will stay over here," I told him as he walked away.

I later found myself in D.A.D.A. which was lead by our head master, Professor Black. He was a talk man with black hair and green eyes. He was going on about what we would learn over the year and then finally got to roll call.

"Lily Potter," he shouted.

"Here," I said and raised my hand.

"Another Potter, has your dad taught you any spells that he knows or have you ever seen him do any high leveled spells," he asked me with interest.

"No sir," I replied.

"Well, I am sure you will do fine on your own. I don't think you will need your dad's famous talent at all," he told me an he had a look in his eyes that said he was serious.

I didn't answer him, instead I just smiled. I liked how he didn't say "Oh your Harry Potter's daughter and because of that you will do great in my class."

Instead he told her she would do fine without her fathers knowledge and he didn't push for stories or anything like most people did when they find out she is his daughter.

He was only knowing her as Lily and she liked that.

The day went on and I was about to walk into the Great Hall when someone grabbed her. I turned around to see her brothers standing there.

"Lily we are so sorry," James said as he pulled me into a hug.

I tried to pull away but he was stronger than me, "What do you have to be sorry for?"

"We're sorry we always joked about you being in Slytherin. We wouldn't have done that if we knew for real this would happen," Albus explained to me.

"I don't get what the big deal is guys," I said as I let go of James, " it's just a house and the people are nice and just as normal and cool as the people in Slytherin."

"Lily are you crazy the are filthy snakes," James snarled at me.

"No James they are people who have feelings people who are cool, nice, and just as clean as any Gryffindor," I yelled at them, "and believe it or not I am no of them now."

"See they are already changing you, filling your mind with bad things. Lily Slytherins are evil," Albus yelled back.

"No they aren't and you know what I'm a Slytherin now so do you think I'm an evil, filthy snake? Do you really think that I have changed?" I asked them hoping that they would have second thoughts about what they just said.

"You aren't evil but you will be if you keep hanging out with them and as for changing, you haven't even been with them for a day and you are already defending them. They are terrible people just look at Scorpius and his family," James yelled.

"You know what I have met Scorpius and he is a really nice and hasn't said one rude thing to me," I shouted at him.

"What happened o you, Lily? You haven't even been with those filthy snakes a day and you are already acting like them," Albus said.

"No, I haven't changed. What's changed is your opinion on me because of what house I'm in. You know nothing about Slytherin because everything you have just said about us is wrong," I told them and turned to walk away.

"Plus I'd rather be smart and filthy than dumb and brawny," I told them and walked though the doors.

I sat down next to the other Slytherins and realized my life was about to change and not for the better and no matter what I tell people they will never believe this is me.
