Only When I Walk Away (Under Major Editing)

Don't you only love me when I walk away?

15. Chapter 15

I walked into my second to last class, slumping down in my seat. I wanted this day to be over already. My attention was to the front of the class when Eva suddenly walked in. Her lips were in a small smile as she walked past each row of desks as if she were walking down the cat-walk. Her blonde hair that was tied in a ponytail swayed back and forth until she finally sat down next to me.

"Hello," she greeted in a cheerful voice while she was pulling out her journal from her bag. Once she set all her supplies down on the desk she finally turned to look at me. Her smile faltered and slowly fell to a frown. "Are you alright? You don't look very happy."

I sighed shrugging my shoulders.

"What's wrong?" She placed her hand on my shoulder lightly rubbing it. "You can tell me, y'know?"

"It's Liam," I mumbled.

"And Josh."

She sat looking forwards as out professor walked in. She slowly leaned in towards me before whispering.

"What happened with Josh and Liam?"

"Miss Wolff?" Our professor said catching the whole class' attention. Eva immediately stopped talking and sat straight looking at our professor. "Is there something you'd wish to share with the whole class?"

"No sir," Eva shook her head frantically.

"Then zip it."

Once he turned around Eva rolled her eyes before giving him the bird. I covered my mouth to stifle my laughs. Eva grinned widely before leaning in and cautiously whispering again.

"What's wrong with Josh and Liam?"

"Well," I began. I had no idea where to start. Friday and Saturday had been such odd days. I decided to go in the order of the events. "On Friday Josh came over, and we were doing things."

Eva raised her eyebrows before winking at me. I rolled my eyes before continuing.

"Calm down, perv. It didn't go that far," her shoulders visibly slumped before I continued. "Anyways, I didn't want to go that far and I guess that made Josh mad, so he left."

"What?!" She whispered harshly. "That asshole."

"So the next day he apologized and we went to the movies," I smiled brightly and so did Eva. "But once we got back to my house, he got a call from someone who was so persistent on seeing him that he just left again."

"Do you know who called him?"

"No," I shook my head. "But it sounded like a girl."

Eva frowned before rubbing my back. Once the professor turned around she quickly removed her hand from my back.

"What about Liam?"

"Once I started walking back to my house, a girl was leaving his house."

"Another?" She said under her breath. I don't think I was supposed to hear her, but let's face it, she's a terrible whisperer.

"What do you mean another?"

"Well I have my last class with him, and he'll always walk in with a different girl," she shivered in disgust. "Sometimes he'll tell me about each one."

My heat fell. My chest was starting to hurt and I felt like I couldn't breathe. Liam was really changing. He was never one to sleep around or do anything of the sort. I felt like I didn't know him anymore.

"Don't cry," Eva wiped the tears on the side of my cheeks.

I didn't even realize I was crying until now. I quickly dried my tears so I wouldn't attract attention from other students.

"I just feel like I don't know him anymore." A sob left my lips.

"Shh, please don't cry," she cooed while rubbing my back. "Listen, I'll talk to him next class and figure out what's going on with him. For all we know he probably just misses you."

I nodded while drying my final tears. I gave Eva a forced smile before I began taking notes.

I walked to where Josh and I normally ate. I bought two sandwiches for us then sat down on the benches while greeting his other friends. I looked around the busy campus looking for Josh, but I couldn't find him. I checked the time and sighed. Josh normally didn't have me waiting for lunch, and now I was starting to get suspicious. I looked around and spotted Ryan, one of Josh's friends. I decided that he might have known where Josh might be.

Ryan stood with a few of Josh's other friends. They were all chatting with each other until I poked Ryan's broad shoulder. He turned around and looked down at me with his piercing blue eyes. I looked up at his large form before nervously tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.

"H-have you seen Josh?" I cursed myself for stuttering nervously.

"He didn't tell you?" He said with a smug grin on his face that I really felt like smacking off.

I shook my head, too intimidated to answer.

"Well he's off working on a project with Kristen," he said. He must have noticed my confusion before he rolled his eyes, continuing. "Kristen Quinn?"

I shrugged my shoulder. I didn't know who she was. If she was so important why hadn't Josh told me about her?

"Whatever," he said rather harshly. "He's off doing a project with her."

He looked at his friends suggestively before they all chuckled together. I gripped the sandwiches in my hands harshly before walking away from them.

Why had they all laughed together? Never had I felt so clueless in my life. I angrily sat down on the bench watching everyone else enjoying their lunches.

I hated to sound needy and desperate but I really needed Josh right now. I just wanted him here so I could pour out all of my feelings to him. I wanted to tell him how much I missed Liam and how badly my day was going. But unfortunately he was off with some bitch I've never heard of, working on a project. I have never felt so lonely like I do now.

Liam's POV

I was walking down the corridor to my last class of the day. My hand was on the small of the back of the girl next to me. She was going on and on talking about how her day went, and in all honesty I didn't care.

While she kept blabbering I decided to observe her. Her name was Tatiana. She wasn't all that pretty, a plain Jane is you ask me. I had been with prettier girl in the past few days. Her thin lips kept moving quickly as she continued talking. Occasionally her slightly large nose would scrunch up while she talked about something I would assume she didn't like. Her eyes were boring and had no life to them, they were covered with layers and layers of mascara that disgustingly clumped together. I wondered how mascara clumps didn’t land in her eyes, or how she was able to see. Her straight hair fell down her back in dry, dull waves.

We had finally reached my class and I was more than glad to be able to part from her and her annoying high-pitched voice. But that would only last for only a few hours.

"Should I meet you here after class?" She asked, twirling a strand of hair around her finger.

I nodded, desperately trying to part from her.

She stood on the tips of her toes to press her chapped lips to mine in a quick peck. She winked before finally walking away. I swiftly turned around walking in to the classroom. I spotted Eva looking bored as ever chewing on a pencil. I liked sitting next to Eva because she always made sure to update me on Lotus' life. I smiled at her widely before walking towards the desk. She glanced at me, then back to the front of the class.

I thought it was odd she didn't return my gesture, considering the fact that she was always so friendly and happy.

"Hey, Eva," I said while sitting down.

She glanced at me and continued looking at the front of the class. She looked angry, her thin eyebrows were furrowed as she avoided my gaze.

"How was your day?" I asked, but she still didn't answer. "Are you okay-?"

"Y'know sometimes you make me sick to my stomach," she spat.

I gaped at her surprised. But more than anything I was confused. I was positive I hadn't done anything to upset her.

"Oh don't act so surprised," she said harshly. "You have a new slut every day."

I harshly grabbed her arm, digging my fingers into the soft pale flesh. She glared at me angrily, it was as if the grip I had on her arm hadn't fazed her. I pointed my index finger at her, glaring at her before I spoke.

"Watch it," I warned her. She roughly pulled her arm out of my grip. I sighed before running a hand through my hair. "Why do you care anyways?"

"I care because Lotus cares."

I scoffed shaking my head. I crossed my arms over my chest, leaning back in my seat. I glanced at Eva, her red lips turned down in a frown.

"And why does she care?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"Because she's your best friend!"

As if on cue, the instructor walks in, and Eva shuts up leaning back in her chair.

"Was," I said, correcting her. "She was my best friend. Until that prick came in the picture."

"She still cares about you," she mumbled. "And you should too."

"I never said I stopped caring about her." I corrected her. "I just don't see why it's bothering her so much. She has her own boyfriend."

"Let's just say their relationship is on the rocks right now."

I raised my eyebrows shocked. To say I was happy was an understatement. I know it sounds selfish, but I was eager for Lotus and Josh's relationship to begin to crumble. I knew I probably had a stupid grin on my face as I watched Eva's red lips move while she spoke.

"She's really upset right now," she continued. "She has been for the past few days."

My stupidly excited grin fell to a frown. Even though I hated Josh and I never wanted him to even be within a hundred yards of her, I still didn't like Lotus being upset. I'd rather watch Josh kiss Lotus' pink lips a hundred times if it meant her being happy.

I felt Eva's small palm land on mines. She squeezed my hand comfortingly before speaking.

"I know you love her. I know that for a fact," she said. "And it may not seem like it, but I know deep down inside she loves you too. She may not realize it yet, but she does love you."

I looked down at our hands. I pursed my lips thinking about Lotus, and how much I missed her. Eva looked up at me smiling. I smiled back at her lightly before pulling the ends of her ponytail. She groaned in pain rubbing the back of her head calling me an 'asshole' under her breath.

The best part about having your parents away on a trip is being home alone. I was free to do anything I wanted, and in this case, bring home anyone I wanted.

Shutting my bedroom door closed I trapped Tatiana in between the door and I. I quickly connected our lips together in a lustful kiss. My hands made their way to her hips, fingers digging in harshly. I began to ground my hips against her. A moan left her lips and I took this opportunity to dominate her mouth with my tongue.

Her hands found their way to the back of my neck, playing with the ends of my hair. I ran my fingers over her collarbones, slowly traveling them down to the top of her laced bra. Our clothes had been previously discarded on our way to my bedroom.

I wrapped my arms around her waist before walking her to my bed. I softly laid her down before I lie in between her legs. My palms lie flat beside her head while she wrapped her arms round my body pulling me close against her. She began grinding her hips against mine as we continued tasting each other.

"Fuck," I groaned.

She smirked before she lifted her hips against mine again. I harshly pressed my hand against her hips.

"Don't tease me," I said before connecting our lips again.

I reached behind her back unclasping her bra. She moaned into my mouth while I took off the pretty black lace throwing it to the side. I began pressing kisses to her jaw. From her jaw to her neck, I sucked and nipped at her skin. She ran her fingers through my hair, tugging lightly on the ends. I made my way to her collarbones biting gently, then soothing it with my tongue. I kissed my way down to the valley between her breasts down to her abdomen.

My fingers traveled up and down her thighs lightly as she sighed in satisfaction. I watched as she closed her eyes lying her head further in to the pillows. I kissed the inside of her thighs, slowly trailing them down to her pantie covered heat.

"She's pretty."

I stopped my soft kisses to look up at Tatiana confused. It was then I realized she had a framed picture of Lotus and I in her hands. I rolled my eyes before I kissed her thigh again, attempting to distract her from the stupid picture; but of course that didn't work. I tried biting the soft flesh of her thigh, but she only brushed my lips before putting down the picture and picking up another one.

"I didn't know you had a girlfriend," she said while looking at the second picture. "I'm guessing you like the adrenaline of sleeping with other girls."

I quickly shook my head. Gripping on to her thighs, I pulled her body closer to my face.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! I'm not judging you and your weird kinks," she said, scooting up to her original position. "All I'm saying is that she could have joined us."

"She's not my girlfriend," I mumbled frustrated. The hardness in my boxers was starting to become uncomfortable. "She's an old friend."

She shrugged putting down the picture, only to pick up another one. I groaned annoyed laying my head against her thigh. I was growing impatient and was just about ready to kick this girl out. Until she asked me something that made my breath hitch.

"Do you love her?" She placed the last picture down on the nightstand. She slightly sat up, leaning back on her elbows.

I lifted my head from her thigh, looking up at her. She had an eyebrow raised waiting for an answer. I looked at her hopelessly before slowly nodding.

Tatiana smirked before sitting up. I sat up as well before she wrapped her arms around my neck. She pulled my body against hers. Her chest flat against mine. Leaning in, she pressed her lips against mine in a soft kiss. Our lips molded together while softly moving against each other. I ran my hands down her body before settling on her bum, squeezing tightly. She pulled apart from me before pressing a soft peck to my lips and standing up.

I was utterly confused as I watched her collect her bra from the corner of the room, putting it on.

"What are you doing?"

"I knew you were in love since the moment I walked in your house," she stated. "You were so gentle and passionate. Normally, a guy wouldn't be as sweet if he was looking for a quick fuck."

"I don't understand."

She sighed walking towards the bed, and sitting on the edge of it.

"You love this girl, and for whatever reason you're trying to get over her by sleeping with other girls," she ran a hand through my hair. "But I can tell it's not working."

I sighed lying down. The hardness between my legs was now gone. I covered my eyes with my forearms. Tatiana traced her finger up and down my chest.

"You have to tell her."

"It's too late," I sighed. "She's already with someone."

"So what?" She said pressing a kiss to my chest. I felt the bed rise as she stood up. "I'll let myself out."

I sat up watching her walk out the door.

"Thanks," I mumbled.

She turned around smiling, before finally leaving.
