2. Tour

I didn’t bother to knock on her office door. She may be my boss but she was also my best friend and my roommate and formalities were unnecessary. “Oh, good you’re here." she said. I plopped myself down on one of the armchairs and draped my legs over the side. That’s when I noticed there was a middle aged man in the other armchair. I sat up straight again. I wasn’t embarrassed, that sort of thing doesn’t bother me, but I just wanted to be polite. He stood up and offered his and I did the same and took it. “Hello, Ms Adozzia. I’m Paul Higgins, One Direction’s bodyguard and tour manager.” I shook his hand and replied “Please, call me Roma, Ms Adozzia is too formal and makes me sound old.” He chuckled and we sat down again as Maria began to speak. “So, I landed you a job to go on tour with One Direction for eight months and photograph them. You will be on the same tour bus as them and will attend all of the concerts, galas, and other events.” She said excitedly, clapping her hands together at the end. I thought about it for a moment. I would be on tour with the biggest boy band in the world and I would probably get a ton of hate on Twitter and stuff. “Why, did you choose me for this?” I asked “All the other girls who work here are huge fans.” She winked at me suggestively without Paul seeing and proceeded formally saying “Well, seeing as the other girls are Directioners, I thought that they would just freak out at being anywhere near the boys and they wouldn’t be able to think straight. Whereas you, Roma, are not a fan and you always have a level head. Also, you are much stronger than the other girls and I feel that you would be able to withstand the probable hate. So, do you accept his offer?” I was silent for a minute as I thought everything through. Maria was right, it would have been weird if the other girls went all fan-girl on them in their faces all day. I wasn’t a hater or anything, I just wasn’t a fan. And she was also right that I was the strongest out of them. They were all kind of delicate and would probably crack under it all. “Yeah, I’ll do it.” I smiled at her. I guess this explains why everyone was glaring at me this morning, they wanted to go on tour with five hot boys. “Great! Maria began ushering me out the door. I was a bit surprised by this hurry. “Ok so you can have the rest of the day off to pack and everything because you leave tomorrow. Ok bye see you later.” She shut the door in my face. ARGH! I can’t believe I was leaving tomorrow. I hurried home to start packing my things. Thank god I had big suitcases from other trips, but this was by far the biggest I’d ever been on.
