Insecure: The Living Games

Ashley Page is just one of the other million insecure teenage girls. When she goes to a One Direction concert with her best friend Jo, she's spotted in the crowd by Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson. Who will she pick? There's only one way for her to pick, through The Living Games.

7. Good Girl

Ashley's P.O.V

Monday Night

This is like one of the best dates ever. Im just siting on Liam's lap like a little kid resting my head on his left shoulder. We watch the comedic movie while Liam pops popcorn into my mouth every once in awhile. I think he's just laughing at my laugh, though. His smile and laugh is so adorable. This is weird but every time Liam moves a little, his umm "Paynis", I'll call it, rubs against my leg and it's the most difficult thing to ignore like you don't even understand the difficulty of this situation. The place also has this kind of Sonic restaurant thing. Liam ordered us some food for dinner near the end of the movie. It just ended.

"Would you like to stay to watch the next showing?" he asked me kinda right in my ear, whispering. Oh god, the feels, the fangirl shivers.

"Umm sure," I say, facing forward.

"Cool beans," he says with a light smile.

"I say that too, but do you know what the next movie is?" I ask craning my neck to look at him a little.

"No, but I hope it's a comedy. Your laugh is priceless," he laughs, "it's like a hill billy and a witch laughed at the same time." I gasp and give him a light slap on the face.

"Anything else you'd like to say about me?" I ask him.

"Actually yes, but they aren't very mean," he says, glancing at me.

"Go ahead," I sigh.

"I wish you wouldn't wear make-up. I wish you would be more open with who you are. I get it, you're insecure, but I'm telling you that you shouldn't be. There's nothing for you to be insecure about," he says and almost every few words I shiver, "why are you shivering?"

"It's the feels," I admit and he crunches up his eyebrows, "it's a fangirl thing."

"Ah, I see. So you're a fan?" he says and I nod.

"I thought it was obvious since I went to a concert," I laugh and he nods laughing at himself.

"True. So what's your favorite song?" he asks.

"I have a bunch," I say, playing all of them in my head.

"Tell me," he insists.

"Of course What Makes You Beautiful, Little Things, Live While While We're Young, One Way Or Another, Midnight Memories, Don't Forget Where You Belong, Story of My Life, You and I, Half a Heart, Alive, and well…the rest. Midnight Memories is my favorite album, though," I list.

"Mine too," he agrees nodding, "Im having fun with you, love."

"Thanks, love," I joke, "can I say something?"

"Go ahead," he says, sounding kinda curious.

"I wish you'd drive faster," I laugh.

"There's nothing wrong with being safe," he laughs, then he just looks at me for a second then he leans in.

"Pause," I say, then he stops leaning in, "were you about to kiss me?"

"Yeah, if that's cool with you, love," he says shyly.

"Yeah, that's cool," I say and he smiles a little then we kiss.

You know what's funny, this kiss seems less forced, it feels a lot more comfortable, a lot more passionate. I think after awhile Liam realizes that we've been kissing for awhile, so he pulls away, but I push his head back towards my lips and I feel him smile. We just keep going at it until a guy taps on the window holding a bag. Liam sees him then we stop kissing and Liam rolls down the window.

"Oh sorry, mate," Liam says to the guy with red cheeks, adorable.

"Oh, it's cool bro," the guy says looking down into the bag, "you got the cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, bacon cheeseburger with a side of cheese fries, and 2 strawberry milkshakes, correct?"

"Yeah. How much?" Liam asks, looking around the car.

"Uuhh…22.87," the guy says, looking at a receipt.

"Can you get up for a second, love, my wallet is in my back pocket," he says. I get off his lap and hop into the passenger seat. He gets out the car and gives the guy the money.

"So you two together, together or…" the guy says counting the money.

"Umm…yeah, I mean I think so. What's it to you?" Liam says looking through the bag. I take out my phone and play Flappy Bird, acting like I'm not listening. This is a conversation I want to hear, but I'm not supposed to be, but I have to listen and honestly I'd reply the same way if I was asked that question.

"Nothing important," the waiter guy thing says, "but you're a lucky guy, bro. She's…she's a dime piece. But anyway enjoy you're movie," the guy says and he walks off.

"Thanks," Liam says, then he closes the driver door and walks over to my side.

"Can you get out for a second, love, I don't wanna sit in that seat. The drivers wheel presses against my legs," he asks softly.

"So where do I sit?" I ask getting out the car and he gets in.

"On my lap, we can cuddle, girls like that," he laughs and I stand outside in the freezing cold for a second unsure of what to do even though he just told me. He smiles and pats his lap again. I smile and sit on his lap.

"Here's your food, love," he says handing me a container with my food in it: mozzarella sticks and cheese fries, "your milkshake is right here." He puts it in the little cup holder in front of his. I shiver a little bit.

"Can you close the window? I'm freezing," I say. He tries to get it but he can't reach the little button.

"I'll get it, hold this for a sec," he takes my container of food and I bend over and press the button until the window is closed. I sit back in his lap and he's laughing. I crunch up my eyebrows to say "what?".

"Thanks for putting your ass in my face," he laughs sarcastically.

"Oh shut up. You know you liked it," I laugh then grab a cheese fry.

"Yeah, you're right, I'm not complaining," he smirks then I punch him on the shoulders, "you said it first." He says defensively, throwing his arms in the air.

"Do you swear a lot?" I ask him.

"No, I wouldn't say that I do, anyway," he admits before taking a bite out his burger.

"Don't you just hate people that curse like every other word they say or is that just me?" I rant then bite a mozzarella stick, the cheese keeps going and going as I pull my head back, Liam laughs then snaps the cheese with his index finger.

"I wouldn't say I hate people for that, but I would like them more if they didn't, at least around me," he explains.

"That's a good way to say it," I say, "same here."

"Do you curse a lot?" he asks me.

"Not randomly, but when I'm mad one or two slip out," I admit and he laughs, "what now?"

"You're such a good girl," he says patting my head, but I don't argue cause I know it's true, but I still feel the need to argue, "give me one example."

"For one, you don't curse, I'd my bet my life you're a virgin an-"

"There's nothing wrong with that," I say defensively, "I just choose to wait for the right person. Like a few seconds ago was my first real, passionate kiss."

"That can't be true," he says, "you're you, you're so cool to be around and you're not ugly so…"

"Well I'm not pretty, so what am I?" I ask rhetorically.

"Sexy," he says.

"You too, Payne, you too," I say, "but I can't believe that." He sighs.

"You wanna go for your second kiss?" he asks cheekily, but I can tell he's nervous. He's just trying to sound all smooth and cool.

"That's not something Liam would say, besides my breath smells bad and I bet yours does, too," I laugh.

"I'd love to have some greasy cheese sticks and cheese fries," he says, slowly leaning in, "baby let me be your, your last first kiss." He whisper sings, ugh, that was smart. Turn on.

"That was the most disturbing pick up line ever, but I like the little song," I admit, "but I could go for some cheeseburger." I smirk and we kiss again.

"Your breath does smell," I mumble against his lips.

"Same to you," he mumbles back and I smile.

"You suck," I say.

"And you swallow," he says and I pull away, then ouch him. It hurts and he laughs, I rub my hand against my leg.

"You ruined it," I say.

"Come on babe, it was just a joke," he says rubbing his right hand on my hip, where my hand used to be sending millions of sensations up my leg, a tempting offer, but I must refuse.

"When I'm done eating," I say and he sighs.

"You're such a tease," he laughs returning to his food. I don't really know exactly what a tease is, but I like the way he said it. Proud to be a tease, whatever that is.

For the rest of the date, Liam and I ate our food and watched the movie for about an hour and a half, then we kept kissing for the rest. He's so irresistible , I can't even help myself.

Now we're in the elevator in my apartment building. He insisted on taking me upstairs, but I think he just wanted to talk a little bit more.

"I liked this date best of all so far," he says and I nod in agreement. He said so far, meaning that there will be more. "we were both acting more ourselves on this date."

"True," I say.

"Just in case you're wondering, I do really like you and I hope we can date for awhile," he says shyly, "I hope you feel the same way." He adds, staring at the dirty elevator floor. There's nothing to break down in that sentence, straightforward.

"I do too," I say smiling, "aren't you dating Sophia?"

"No her management payed our management for me to date her, same with the other lads except Zayn and Perrie. I'm not really sure about Louis and El, though. Other stars pay to date us to largen their own publicity. I don't really like it, but…that's part of being famous sadly," he explains and we get out the elevator.

"It's kinda weird hanging out with you, since you're famous," I say, "A week ago, you were just in my camera roll and walls and stuff. Just a dream. It was hard to imagine that you were a real person, since you're all hot and stuff. That was creepy, but you know what I mean."

"I don't like the word famous. I'm still a person, just with an abnormal job," he says.

"I get it," I say, "it must suck some times, but it must be fun at times."

"Has it's ups and downs, but I would like to go out with you tomorrow," he says.

"Sure," I say and we both stop in front of my front door.

"I was hoping we could go play Laser Tag. Maybe I could get my revenge from you beating me at the park the other day in tag. Maybe I could beat you in some other type of tag," he laughs.

"Sure I love Laser Tag," I say, "I'll text you when tomorrow morning."

"Cool, see you tomorrow then?" he asks.

"Yup," I say then he leans in to kiss me, "Don't you think it's a little too early for us to be casually kissing like this?" I ask.

"I just feel like we're already so close," he says, sympathetically.

"Yeah, but I just don't want to rush it, rushing it does nothing but ruin it," I say.

"Babe, I get it. Don't worry, it'll all be fine," he assures me.

"Alright, love," I laugh, I stand on my tippy toes and give him a peck on the lips, he walks back to the elevator.

"I'll text you tomorrow!" I call out to him.

"Don't forget!" he yells back.

"Bye!" I yell.

"Bye!" he yells walking into the elevator. Ugh. I knock the door, hoping Jo would open it for me because I know she's still in there. No answer.

"I can hear you Jo," I sigh before touching my door. I kick the door.

"Ow!" she yells then swings open the door, she wearing her PJs already, "what you do that for?!"

"You sound like Niall in the beginning of the This Is Us movie when Louis slapped him," I say and we both laugh walking in towards my bedroom and she follows me.

"Speaking of Niall," she says sitting on my bed as I strip down into my PJs.

"Oh god, how was your little Niall date?" I ask.

"I had a date with Harry, actually, my date with Niall is tomorrow afternoon. We're going to a football game," she says as I throw my clothes into the dirty clothes bin.

"Where'd you children go?" I ask looking for a pair of PJs in my drawer.

"We went to his house and watched two movies," she shrugs as I pull on my PJs.

"Oh coo-" I start.

"We made out," she blurts out and I nod, obviously she couldn't help but tell me, but now I can't help myself either.

"We did too," I blurt and we both laugh.

"So who's your favorite so far, then?" she asks following me to the kitchen.

"What do you mean?" I ask looking through the half empty fridge for a drink.

"Well, I don't know if you've noticed but you can't date both of them forever," she laughs.

"I've never thought of that," I say pouring apple juice into a cup.

"Wow," Jo says, sitting on one of the high chairs to the table.

"I don't really know yet, Jo," I say, then sip some of my apple juice.

"I don't know either Niall is so sweet, but Harry makes me feel so young, wild, free, and alive. It's like that song off the album. What's it called?" Jo says.

"Alive," I laugh.

"Oh yeah," she says then starts singing it, "my mother told me I should go and get some therapy."

"I asked the doctor can you find out what is wrong with me," I begin.

"I don't know why I wanna be with every girl I meet," she begins.

"I can't control it, yeah, I know it's taking over me," I begin.

"I'm going crazy, can't contain in, so tell me just what I should do!" She sings.

"I said, hey! It's alright, if it makes you feel alive!" she sings, I let her sing the chorus alone.

"Go back to your house cause I want to go to sleep," I sing, messing up the lyrics terribly, to tell her to leave.

"But I want to stay cause your house is better than mine," she sings, doing the same thing I did.

"Well alright you can stay, but I'm going to bed right nooooooooowwwwww," I sing now running to bedroom, "good-night!" Then I close the door.

"Can I sleep with you? I don't wanna be alone on the couch," Jo asks standing at the edge of my bed.

"Ugh, fine," I moan she smiles and jumps on the bed next to me.

"What's the point of having your own apartment if you sleep in mine every night?" I ask her.

"So I could feel like a grown up when I pay bills and stuff," she says.

"Of course you have an answer," I sigh, "night, Jo."

"Night," she yawns.

What a day, there's another one for me to conquer tomorrow.
